This brings back memories. I was born in Sarawak and visited many ulu longhouses as I grew up but eventually left Kuching in my early 20s. Now I am in my 50s, a city folk living in Singapore.
i come from Sabah which is beside Sarawak..2 years live and studying at Kuching Sarawak is the Most amazing and very memorable part of my life. our Malay and Dayak friend is really taking care of us like their own brothers. That place is really close to my ❤️
Great documentary, watched it moretimes!!! And now i know Jeeremy- Monkey tatoo and have his work on the hand! Sarawak is magical! Thank you for this beutiful video!
That's so awesome, right around 17:00 the 98 year old Gentleman imparts some wisdom many should allow themselves to be enlightened by, cheers and thanks for the upload!
for my tribe the tattoos also one of the spiritual believe.. my people believe that when people died, their tattoos will shine the way on their journey to the other world..
Evangelical of Borneo - killed all the indigenous @ orang asal Borneo Island cultures.Luckily Sarawakian still strong hold on thier own cultures never influence by any enemies try to change and burried on our indigenous herritages.
Tattoo is mean protector of the owner before u make tattoo there is some spirit or instincts that come to you and give you spirit or power for protection. At long ago, iban people shuld start a miring (prayer for calling the petara/ghost) before they start do the tattoo. what i heard from this documentary mostly nonsense and quite shame within their explaination. Traditional tattoo and the tattoo iban got their own explaination and old meaning. by the way, a very thankful for doing this documentary to show iban people capable.
my father have a big tribal butterfly tatoo on his chest.from what i know its embedded with magic.kind of shamanistic things in the past.my father's father is a shaman.it was said he can kill people with dark magic.dont know how far is it true. my father is iban/bidayuh mix
Wonderful! Thanks for posting!🥰

Best journey to borneo sarawak
awsome!!!
Is it just me or do i feel that the subtitles were messed up?
same
sy orang borneo asal sabah bangsa dusun , rasa kecewa pohon2 kita jgk hutan kita makin tipis oleh kerajaan mengecewakan ini😞
Excuse me to correct the subtitle:
16:42 he said: "do pul dlapan (dua puluh delapan)" which means twenty eight (28) years old, NOT twenty one (21)
The subtitles are off...
Haha..."indu kedamput sidak"haha...13:24 so funny... 👍👍
THE SUBTITLES ARE MESSED UP! they didn’t write what they are saying..so disappointed but for sure a beautiful documentary!
logging make me sad...to much bloody illegal logging in Sarawak
