to see someone who actually understands and speaks the language explain this mv, and be thoroughly impressed, means so much. koreans kept saying it's deeper than how it is translated, even if we international fans can already see how deep it was. it must have been really twice more poetic when u understood the language. damn. yoongi really snapped hard.
the thing is, the subtitles/translations aren't as hard to understand either, i mean, yes, a lot gets lost in translation but the many layers and essence on the song are still there when translated, i saw many people focusing only on the first half of the song and leaving out the very last part which really adds a lot to the jungian concept of shadow. While he presents this awful side of being famous, which is the shadow, he also acknowledges it and understand that living and ranting and crying over having this shadows isnt going to do anything. And it seems they really got it, it is so refreshing to see great reactors!
I like it more when koreans are the one who's giving their reactions cause they really do understand what the song is talking about and the way they understand it clearly. Not like those who r just enjoying the beat but not really the song itself

you guys were right about the 1st part as his voice from the past. it was sung in no more dream in their debut~ and talked about in other songs how they want to work hard so they can be on top. the part where he sings on the chorus is like his shadow conversing on his persona (sung by rm in his trailer)
이 곡은 성공에 대한 두려움인 거 같다고 하셨는데 사람마다 느끼는 건 다르겠지만 그것도 맞고 꾸준한 뜻은 자아성찰입니다. 페르소나에서 남준이가 질문한 가사에 쉐도우에서는 윤기가 남준이의 질문에 답한 것이라는 해석이 나오는 것도 있어요.서로 맞춰보니 그런 것도 있더라구요. 이 쉐도우도 예전 앨범 '아유레잍투' 의 일부분을 역재생해서 집어넣은 것도 있어 찾아보는 재미가 있어요. 방탄은 밝은 곡도 있지만 어두운 곡도 많아요. 하지만 공통된 것은 그 속에서 긍정을 찾는 다는 것이죠. 항상 가사에 솔직한 마음을 담아 노래하는 사람들이고 믹스테잎은 더욱 직설적이고 본인의 속마음이 녹아든 것이고...타이틀곡말고 수록곡들이나 믹테를 들으면 더 이들의 본모습을 알수 있죠. 가사에 나오는 윤기가 얘기하는 추락이란 단어는 예전에도 윤기가 지나가듯이 말했는데 " 누구나 그러하듯이 인기란 것은 높이 올라가면 언제는 떨어지기 마련이고,, 하지만, 추락은 두려우나 착륙은 두렵지 않다" 고 윤기가 예전에 얘기했었어요. 그 말에 아미들이 천천히 착륙을 시켜줄테니 걱정말라고.. 높이 나는 것도 재미있지만 나중에 착륙하면 땅에서 아미들과 안전하게 같이 놀수 있는 회전목마에서 같이 놀자고 답했죠.. 그 아미분 누군지는 모르겠지만 너무 감동이었고 그런 분들 때문에 최애는 방탄이고 차애는 아미입니다. ^^ 요즘 인기있다고 별사람들이 유입되어 물흐리고 있지만...;;;

I feel like this song is about the downside of being a super famous celebrity. With the fame comes lack of privacy, paparazzi always following them, crazy fans always following them, constant scrutiny, and sometimes lack of a personal life (especially in the Kpop world). The saying " it's lonely at the top" is true in many ways because many stars have to keep people a distance away from them to protect themselves. And I know their schedules must be exhausting since BTS is in such high demand all over the world. There is always a downside to fame. I think with this song Suga is trying to say that he has struggled coming to grips with the bad parts of fame as many celebrities do. The more light that shines on you the bigger the shadows... it's inevitable so he's learning to except it as a natural part of fame. Suga is my favorite Korean rapper because he always speaks his truth no matter what other people think about it...and his flow is sick🔥. I feel like this is exactly why Halsey has him on her upcoming new album because she also feels the same way about fame as he does. If you haven't already listened to Suga's Interlude By Halsey ft Suga then you should definitely react to it. This is the best reaction I've seen of this song so far....great job guys!
The way i understood the song and mv was that the beat change at the end was the shadow talking to the persona of suga. Telling him to recognize that he (the shadow) exists. Also that the persona of suga would feel more at ease if and when he accepts him (the shadow). Seeing that the shadow and the persona and or ego are one, and there is no escaping the other.
FINALLY!! People who ACTUALLY understand what Suga was talking about! Yes, it’s 🔥 but the underlying meaning of the song is SO MUCH MORE. BTS are very deep and introspective and this song reflects that. Thanks so much for this reaction!🙏🏾💜

Enjoyed reactions, too, especially as you are Korean rappers yourselves but agree talking about fears & hardships as musicians but also as humans can be just as healing as the bright positive messages BTS has shared. In fact, as a mother, I think helping my children talk about and learning how to deal with these darker topics are in some ways more important because life no matter what you do will always have struggles & its a learning process to either overcome, let it go or allowing it to stop you. Wow, life lessons by BTS...we're lucky we have such talented, sincere and compassionate men who have such strength and each other to create music that's incredible moving & continues to amaze me.

you guys were right about the 1st part as his voice from the past. it was sung in no more dream in their debut~ and talked about in other songs how they want to work hard so they can be on top. the part where he sings on the chorus is like his shadow conversing on his persona (sung by rm in his trailer)

이번 앨범도 떡밥대잔치라 아미들은 지금 머리 터지고 있답니다ㅎ
이 곡은 성공에 대한 두려움인 거 같다고 하셨는데 사람마다 느끼는 건 다르겠지만 그것도 맞고 꾸준한 뜻은 자아성찰입니다. 페르소나에서 남준이가 질문한 가사에 쉐도우에서는 윤기가 남준이의 질문에 답한 것이라는 해석이 나오는 것도 있어요.서로 맞춰보니 그런 것도 있더라구요. 이 쉐도우도 예전 앨범 '아유레잍투' 의 일부분을 역재생해서 집어넣은 것도 있어 찾아보는 재미가 있어요. 방탄은 밝은 곡도 있지만 어두운 곡도 많아요. 하지만 공통된 것은 그 속에서 긍정을 찾는 다는 것이죠. 항상 가사에 솔직한 마음을 담아 노래하는 사람들이고 믹스테잎은 더욱 직설적이고 본인의 속마음이 녹아든 것이고...타이틀곡말고 수록곡들이나 믹테를 들으면 더 이들의 본모습을 알수 있죠. 가사에 나오는 윤기가 얘기하는 추락이란 단어는 예전에도 윤기가 지나가듯이 말했는데 " 누구나 그러하듯이 인기란 것은 높이 올라가면 언제는 떨어지기 마련이고,, 하지만, 추락은 두려우나 착륙은 두렵지 않다" 고 윤기가 예전에 얘기했었어요. 그 말에 아미들이 천천히 착륙을 시켜줄테니 걱정말라고.. 높이 나는 것도 재미있지만 나중에 착륙하면 땅에서 아미들과 안전하게 같이 놀수 있는 회전목마에서 같이 놀자고 답했죠.. 그 아미분 누군지는 모르겠지만 너무 감동이었고 그런 분들 때문에 최애는 방탄이고 차애는 아미입니다. ^^ 요즘 인기있다고 별사람들이 유입되어 물흐리고 있지만...;;;

To be honest, these guys are the best reactors. Because they reflect and educate by what they watch. 대박 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 사랑해 오빠들😁
I feel like this song is about the downside of being a super famous celebrity. With the fame comes lack of privacy, paparazzi always following them, crazy fans always following them, constant scrutiny, and sometimes lack of a personal life (especially in the Kpop world). The saying " it's lonely at the top" is true in many ways because many stars have to keep people a distance away from them to protect themselves. And I know their schedules must be exhausting since BTS is in such high demand all over the world. There is always a downside to fame. I think with this song Suga is trying to say that he has struggled coming to grips with the bad parts of fame as many celebrities do. The more light that shines on you the bigger the shadows... it's inevitable so he's learning to except it as a natural part of fame. Suga is my favorite Korean rapper because he always speaks his truth no matter what other people think about it...and his flow is sick🔥. I feel like this is exactly why Halsey has him on her upcoming new album because she also feels the same way about fame as he does. If you haven't already listened to Suga's Interlude By Halsey ft Suga then you should definitely react to it.

The way i understood the song and mv was that the beat change at the end was the shadow talking to the persona of suga. Telling him to recognize that he (the shadow) exists. Also that the persona of suga would feel more at ease if and when he accepts him (the shadow). Seeing that the shadow and the persona and or ego are one, and there is no escaping the other.

Enjoyed reactions, too, especially as you are Korean rappers yourselves but agree talking about fears & hardships as musicians but also as humans can be just as healing as the bright positive messages BTS has shared. In fact, as a mother, I think helping my children talk about and learning how to deal with these darker topics are in some ways more important because life no matter what you do will always have struggles & its a learning process to either overcome, let it go or allowing it to stop you. Wow, life lessons by BTS...we're lucky we have such talented, sincere and compassionate men who have such strength and each other to create music that's incredible moving & continues to amaze me.
