Those CAT. 980 loaders are a better loader than most people give them credit for and, for their size, surprisingly powerful. One night shift, years ago, I was driving a Mack Superliner in north- west Queensland, pulling doubles loaded with lead ore from Hilton mine into Mt Isa. I had both trailers fully loaded and was about to leave Hilton and suddenly hit a soft spot near the ore heap and got bogged. A loader operator in what I thought, in the dark, was a 966 came over and said he'd give me a tow out. I was willing to give anything a go, but couldn't see a 966 being of much help, but I hooked a chain to it and my prime mover, got in the cab and prepared for nothing more than wheel spin. I was absolutely blown away when that loader simply walked away, towing my prime mover and two trailers with over 50 tonnes of lead in them. Make no mistake about it - CAT. 980's are great mid range yard and quarry loaders and, of course, in their day, you couldn't go past those old Mack Superliners for road train work.
Very nice Rig beautiful Superliner. Take good care of her not too many left on the road making money. Thank you for sharing this Mack beauty on wheels.
I sure like that mack superliner I only got to drive one of those for two days at a small freight company I was with back in 97 then they put me in a white-gmc road boss for the tenor of my short 31 month employment
I like seeing those spoker hubs or Dayton wheels, However you want to call them. As opposed to Budd wheels, which is all you see out west. The guys out here don’t like spokers, because they don’t know how to put them on straight so they don’t wobble, lol!
Hey Mike love the video & i love how the new guy keeps his truck clean. you should hook him up to the local truck shows & bring his truck also...love ya mike nice job as always my friend
Funny how if you leave the dump trailer out and it snows it won’t slide out when you dump it so you have to shovel it out. But if a loader loads the snow in it it slides out no problem when ya put it up.
E6? Dads 89 I’m running right now has an e6 and it’s so easy to work on. He had to overhaul it when it only had 200k on it but it’s been trouble free since 92.
The window cleaning is just 1 pointer out of many as to why older Macks beat any Aren't kenWorth its or Peterebuilds. I know from being in the NE that they'll out last them in terms on winters too.
I think I saw you today or at least I saw a red w9 with your company name hauling a Mac dump. Went to Holbrook today to buy a pickup bed and you went over us on a overpass
I just have a hard time just realizing you dudes up north make a living hauling piles of snow. Living down in the south in Nashville, its just so alien to me, last 3 or 4 years we have had no snow, at least nothing more than a couple inches, you know stuff that makes the road slick but is melted off by noon. Its kind of funny because every once in a while we will have in Nashville a winter where it snows 2 or 3 times like 2-6" in some areas(its highly variable depending on how north or south you are), and that damn snow sticks around for 2-3 days. When we do get that "mass" snowfall of 2+ inches it makes our city screetch to a halt.
When I was in high school they would plow the parking lot in the morning before everyone got there and there would be piles of snow probably 10 feet high all the Jeep guys would park on them
I would clean truck 19 that was my Mack dm packer every Saturday inside and out tire dressing wax the cab if needed I came in one day and on the driver side door they had air brushed “OCD” on the door There ain’t nothing like a clean truck
I’ve used sprayway, but 3M 08888 glass cleaner is the last one you’ll ever buy if you try it. I buy it by the case(12 cans) because I’m also OCD about my windows and mirrors.
@@chooch1995 I buy a case of 12 at a time and pay less than $4 a can. You can find it all over the internet for $3.88 or so for a single can. Just have to find somewhere with free shipping. I get free shipping by the case and they never go bad. For as long as a can will last, I would say it’s less than a penny a day price difference.
Working from the morning in to the night. Just moving snow. Nice to see the truck and heavy equipment in action. I have a question, I heard you say, you haul close to 99,000+ lbs. For you to haul that much, that depends on the rated tires as well how strong the dump trailer and Tractor?.. I know the VGWR have to be change to fit the product your hauling.
I wish some of the operators here had the people skills y'all seem to have lol most of the loaders at pits around here won't even say good morning back to you lol
Love the mountain of snow I use to see down by the peir in Chelsea. They replace the salt piles with snow piles. Never saw a dozer pushing snow up that high before. I use to go by there from the Boston Market over the new bridge to rte 1.
@@TheBostonTrucker I'm a BK Amputee, I had to get a SPE (skilled performance evaluation) to get my CDL back, after my accident I couldn't pass a physical so had to give up my CDL,

Mike Sprayway is the bomb👍👍👍 if more drivers paid attention to detail like you do this would be a different place , good job brother

She's still rolling strong!
Watching you wheel those honkers around in town is incredible! That's what I call knowing how to drive. Love your care of the ride also.
Thank you
Mike I can’t get enough of that Superliner and congrats on the weight loss... you definitely do look better . Keep it up !!
Those pi64t macks like the red one are some of the best macks we have got new. All led lights New interiors theydrive great pull great.
Man I love that superliner! E6 is a great motor but the e9 would've been awesome.

We don't count on snow here but when it comes it's bonus money. Last year it only snowed 4 times but we have enough work to keep us busy.

In most places the company will just get plates to cover the max gross weight for the roads they haul on, changing it every load would be impossible.
One thing I can't seem to ever do is clean a windshield. I have to get someone else to do it
Oh man thanks a lot! This video is so cool! Have you ever driven a Mack Ultraliner?

Does your loader say Komatsu on the rear window of the cab?
Think so.
Nice love it
F**kin wicked awesome💯
Gotta keep them clean “PRIDE IN YOUR RIDE”
Can you do POV videos with the Superliner? Also what engine?
Please tell me you didn’t wipe that with a paper towel? That scratches the hell out of paint/glass
No way!
Love the mack 😎😎😎😎😎
Thank you 😊
Big old Superliner..👍👍
What's the idea behind trucking the snow away can you just leave it to melt
Businesses need their lots cleared and parking spots opened.

Not much snow moving this year.
At 0:54 you missed a spot right there, no, a little to the right.
Just out of curiosity. What happened to your fingers

Is there an E9 in that Superliner?
E6
Out of curiosity how many miles do your rides have
The Kenworth I drive has 800,000
That camel back looks rugged 💪
It actually rides pretty good.
Why not show the breaking down of the trailer loading process
