I repeatly listen to this video for a whole day, today. I love this piece since I was a child. Today is my proposal defense day. It calm me down when I listened to it right before my proposal defense. I think only this piece could exactly express my inner world for this particular moment. Working on my thesis for a year, as the world covered by strong snow, and suddenly, spring is about to come!
I'm practicing this piece at the moment. I use this video as a reference for melody. I play guitar, but since it also use treble clef it works. I'm practicing for the Caneres International Music Competition and I aim at a medal placement. I have 2 bronze medals so far for 2 different Bach pieces.
You can only get those longer notes by holding the bow at end of its length. There's a chamber performance elsewhere in which the all female players are holding their bows in the fiddler's manner. But the Winter performance requires those long notes that the fiddler's hold won't allow.

This is my favourite piece of all seasons as well. Last year I bought a Violin, I didn't know anything how to play. Now 6 months later I can play this piece...I when I play it I feel different kinds of emotions.
