I am truly so thrilled to see you doing project videos again! You truly are an inspiration! Many blessings to you!
Thanks! I would never have thought of using a wire brush to to sand a lathe turning. Tried it with excellent results. Learn something new every day.
Great procedure, it clearly works well.
Thanks
James
I love how you are having to move things to the side and throw something up on a stool to find a new work area. I can relate to that so well hahaha. Great video, thanks for the demo :). Subscribed!
That’s super. I’ve been looking for this technique and you made it simple to understand. I like your tray too. It looks like something I’d like to try. Thanks for your videos. They are very well done and helpful. Now that I have a lathe again I’ll be going back to watch the videos on your channel.
I picked up a lathe along with an assortment of other equipment/hand tools and fine wood from a man who unfortunately was no longer to use them due to his health. He practically gave a UHaul trailer load of stuff to me. I have been dying to get my hands on that lathe (which has never been used but probably 10+ years old). The skills and talent you guys have amazes me.
Wow! That’s cool! Inexpensive and great detail
Just Tried it, Works Great, Thanks Tim!
Thanks tim for putting up another great video. I really enjoy your channel.
Hi Tim. A heart attack and 4 bypasses has had me on the sidelines for a while now. I ve had a lot of free time so Ive been watching video on woodworking. I own Wood Inspirations and Design LLC so I always try to learn something new whenever I can. I love this video. Its clean and fresh and shows us a great technique. Im using the idea to put my company logo on my bottoms. I love your attitude and the easy fun way you teach. Thank you so much for your time.
This is coolest thing on RUclips I ve already order the paper from the Big river and shared it with my daughter, the possibilities are end less Thank you
Best video yet of how to do this. Thank you for posting😀 🇬🇧
I have been using this technique to apply my name, type of wood and date to bottom of bowls as a logo as well. Sometimes I burn the font with calligraphy tips. Love your video.
Great watch! Love the way you explain everything so clearly and with a fun up beat tone. Lovely work, very talented indeed.👍👍
Jen uk👍
Thanks Tim. Great idea for “sighing” the bottom.
Been watching all of your videos. Great job. Love the way you do your video's it shows you are pretty down to earth. Just watched your video with you transferring ink jet lable to your work. I always use the easy wood turning for the grain compulations. Any way keep up the good work I'm sure you are giving other turners especially new turners. Thanks Tim Kelly:
Sir..... You are outstanding. Not to mention HILARIOUS. Great video! Excellent work
I have heard alot of people suggest freezer paper, but i was never able to get it to feed through my printer. Frustrated with that method i tried poly sheet protectors and it worked fabulous. Avery heavy duty have been the best in my opinion. i just cut off left and right side making it the same size as 8.5x11 and the bottom and now you have 2 "plastic" papers to print on. so much fun !
I love it! It looks great! Nice, crisp color. 💕😁💕
Genius! I am so using that method.
Amazing, I have been looking for a way to put my logo on my work that didn't cost more than my project.
It would even be a great way to put a Beads Of Courage design on the side of a box.
You really have a winner with this video.
Christian Jensen, Woodturning - My Way
Nice process, thanks for sharing.
You just gave me inspiration for new welcome baby wood craft I’m doing exactly what I was looking for
Thanks for the tip. I tried transferring using a clear label, but this is way better and I never would have thunk it up myself.
Thanks so much for sharing this video. This method should work for me. You explained everything very well.
I came here for the inkjet transfer but got hooked into woodturning XD
Nicely done!
Nice video, thanks for posting.
Glad I found you, I used to get the Create channel & watched a lot. Glad I can watch here
Beautiful equipment and work. Watching this lathe spin is strangely relaxing and hypnotic. I hope there are no subliminal messages in there.
Pretty cool video; awesome temperament.
Well I’m going to have try that very cool 😎 Tim
Thanks! Really good video and how to transfer inkjet image.
Hi Tim, Just found your channel . Awesome piece, can't wait to watch more. Carl M in PA
What a wonderful tutorial is this ! Really you are amazing Sir . I already subscribed. I wish if I have a work shop like this.
Thank you
Love these videos, keep it up
Very nice job my friend
Nice hack, good video. Thanks
Great idea for printing and using my printer too
This is awesome bro
Great video, thankyou
Good idea, cheers
nice job. thks a bunch
That is slick!
liked your commentary sir. enjoyed it till the end.
You can do the same thing using freezer paper, which is even cheaper than label paper. Just cut it to size and print on the shiny side. My results don't show any noticeable difference between the label and freezer papers.
Please keep the great videos coming!
nosheepdesigns Thanks, I"'ll try that
Good luck! Be sure to cut the freezer paper to printer paper size and be careful not to slide or smudge the print when you apply it to the wood.
Excellent idea!
@@Nosheepdesigns I buy my freezer paper 8.5x11, and dont get curl
@@stephaniesummers7452 I didn't know that it came like that! Where do you get pre-cut freezer paper?
Amazingly simple when you know how! Great video Tim & team. xXx
Hi Tim That's a lot better than wetting the paper a neat idea thanks take care Y.N.W.A. Paul
I love it!
This method worked perfectly ! From the bottom of my hearth , thank you sir
Abe's screensaver won me over. Anyone else?
Great video ,love it :}
Thanks for a great idea! I don't have a wood lathe, but this method of transferring an image may solve a big problem for the wife and me.
We've been trying to figure out a cheap, easy and quality way to transfer our photos to ceramic tiles for coasters. The expenses must be low to sell at a profit.
The ink probably won't work on ceramic, but there's a primer, brush or spray, called B-I-N that will. We're going try it TODAY, printing on label backing as you suggest, and transferring to B-I-N treated tiles. Wish us luck! The next craft fair is only 2 weeks away!
No luck. The heavy layer of ink in a high quality photo makes a mess. Oh well...
good! i try today! :)
Good video
Great Idea Tim. I've watched a number of similar videos and was almost of the opinion that inkjet transfers are a waste of time. Even others that used shipping label sheets didn't seem to work well. But yours look very nice.
I played with it some more and I am really liking the results. As long as you are not looking for a picture perfect transfer it works great. I did try more pressure with my fingers and more color did go into the wood and made a brighter image.
grat video tim i will be giving that a go love the wallpaper on the other monitor with Abe's Oddworld love playing the game
Tim, after you spray on the sealant and it dries can you then apply polyurethane to get a better finish?
I can't believe how great this works I was throwing away the sticker backs, not any more thanks to you.
i used tracing paper and then did a bunch of design prints on wooden disc many years ago ,,,i am gonna have to try the parchment on this
sir the video was amazing thank yoy sir
may i know which Spray did use at the end on the wood ?
I came here for printing on wood, and flipped out when i saw that Abe guy on your other screen in your office! In Odd I trust! also good video great idea
Amigo não entendo o que você fala, mas seu trabalho é excelente.
The camera and light holders are great - are they a specific brand? great work btw...:D
I knew this was a good show, but look at all those Emmy awards next to your printer!
great video! what are those emmys for? impressive!
Secret hint for laser printers: those printouts are easily transferable with acetone. Not sure about coloured ones but it works fine with black printouts.
Ambrosia: “how much I feel”
Great Idea Tim...I am definitely going to try it , I was working on an emblem , for my shop , to carve on my CNC , not working out that well to small ...this will do better .
I bought one of those sander you have , just a couple of months ago , did not last , started to smoke and heat up thought it would start a fire , not good in a woodshop , only used 15 - 20 minutes at a time got about 3 + hours out of it .....just want you to know Be Careful ! I like the angle but... end up getting 90 degree Ryobi 18 volt
I think this is the technique my mum uses to print on fabric.
I have tried this on fabric, too difficult. much easier to direct print using freezer paper method with iron, and a sandwich
great video, thanks, but have a question, once your spray the print down an let it dry can one go over the piece with paint on coating or will that smug the picture
Neat idea! My printer offers choices as to what type of paper I am printing on. Did you select a certain type of paper choice before printing such as: photo paper, card stock, transfers, etc.?
Hey thanks. I wonder if this could work with greaseproof paper.
You can also use regular kitchen wax paper. I use it with good success. Just cut it to your printer paper size and you're set.
How long should you let the ink dry after transferring to wood, before spraying on a coating?
on your cuts on the backup is the bowl tool the best
?
P S I`ve had some problems sometimes That looks good, think i`ll try it
Nice Oddworld background
I've got the same printer and my photo came out light but when I rubbed it on it was not as dark as yours. What setting did you print it on?
I like you Oddworld Abe's Odyssey background.
Hi Tim... Thanks for sharing.. Can I have the name for the protection spray and the paper brand please.. so I can try it out.. 😊
you can print it out on wax paper also. Cheaper. Tape the top of the wax paper cut to fit the computer paper to the top and put in printer.
this is actually kinda neat. i was starting to think an inkjet transfer cant be made!
What is the sealer , the camera didn't focus in on it?
Just keep turning, turning, turning. Just keep turning, turning, turning.
*noticed Abes backround* ooohhhh heyyy! DISTRACTIONS AHOY!
more like eye candy
Hi great video. What paper setting did you use for your printer? I want to try to make a photo on wood today. I have a Canon ink jet printer can anyone else help me with this? Thanks
Are those 3 Emmy awards? 0_o
Aww shucks you noticed :^) Hey you deserve an award when you get my age!
I thought you were going to use wood glue..... pretty cool transfer!!
What sort of paper did you print on to stop the ink drying?
where do you buy the valspar spray can?
Would this technique work for bamboo ?
Can you do it on a photocopier as well
Thanks for sharing. Great video. Just a bit too long a video though. The title didn't say that you're going to make that serving tray. But thanks again. God Bless.
I did this with a inkjet and it was great, but i also did it with a laster printer and it did not work ?
I could not get the paper to stick with a great flat seal or it had huge wrinkles even after getting all the air bubbles out. Any suggestions?
Por qué se muestra el proceso de fabricación del plato? El tutorial no era sobre transferencia de imágenes en madera?
How do you stop the ink from bleeding into the wood? ive tried 3 now and the ink bleed at the edges across the wood
Great idea. But I'm curious as to what's in the crap box
Crap box unboxing. That's what we need.
@@Reynevan94 I too want to see this!
I gotta go with "crap". Just saying.
hahah was wondering the same
Try freezer paper, print shiny side.
