  • User Fields is a robust feature in Paid Memberships Pro to create custom profile fields for your membership site. Fields can be collected at membership checkout, on the user’s profile or for administrative-view only.
    This tutorial shows you how to add or edit user profile fields on the Memberships - Settings - User Fields screen in the WordPress admin for sites using Paid Memberships Pro.
    The most common field types and requirements are available via the settings page. Developers can explore our documentation on coding fields for more complex needs, such as custom field saving functions, storing fields in a user taxonomies, or pre-populating field dropdowns with custom data arrays.

    Hi there,
    Thanks for this video. It is very useful.
    I have created user fields for my website but I have a problem, because when a new user wants to register in my community, the previous data (of the previous registered user) appears in the fields. So how can I clean the data from the fields? It is understood?
    Thanks in advance.

    This is a great addition - thank you! I am still using the Register Helper Add On for custom user fields. Is there any particular reason I should migrate away from that method and use the new built in feature of the user fields? If I wish to add new fields later, is it ok to use the new user fields in Settings with the old fields added via the Register Helper (can both methods co-exist ok)?

      Hi Chris & Sara. You can disable the Register Helper Add On - the PMPro Core plugin will holds 99% of the RH functionality. You can then add new fields by code or by UI, however, the fields that are coded won't show up in the UI.

    These Videos are really helpful - Thank you. With Register Helper the additional info appears on the "check-out Paid (Admin)" email confirmation, how do I get the "User Fields" to appear on the same email, please.

      Hi Chantell. You can use !!field_name!! (replace field_name with the actual field name) and it should replace it accordingly. If this does not work for you, please reach out to us at www.paidmembershipspro.com/contact or www.paidmembershipspro.com/support

    I am trying to simplify the userfields by removing them from the checkout field but adding them to the member page. How do I? I have deleted my userfields completely and it still shows up. Where can I find info? Pick someone's brain?
    I'm loving PMPro, just learning how to best set things up.

      Hi TheLadyWrites. Rather than removing the fields, it would be better to change the location of the fields by setting "Show fields at checkout" to no. If you have a caching plugin, try purging the cache on your page as well. For more information, please reach out to us at www.paidmembershipspro.com/support or www.paidmembershipspro.com/contact.

      Hi @pixeltonenewmedia2657. There are a couple of ways to do this. You can use our Add Name to Checkout Add On www.paidmembershipspro.com/add-ons/add-first-last-name-to-checkout/ or you can use User Fields in the PMPro settings www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/user-fields/create-fields/

    how we cane remove User Creation at Checkout?

    • @StrangerStudios
      @StrangerStudios  3 месяца назад

      Hi. By always creating the user before payment, we standardized our code across every gateway we integrate with. This helps to ensure that your site does not accept any payment from someone without having a user to attach the payment to. Check out this blog post for more information about user creation: www.paidmembershipspro.com/users-created-at-checkout/
