It didn't look 100% real, so knew there was something going on. It wasn't that the perspective was off or that the car didn't look good but something else I can't quite put my finger on gave it away. Congratulations on the new short film.🎉 It’s cool to see how things work on a film shoot 📽 it has been a while since your last one, how does it feel to be back in the proverbial saddle? I hope it was a fun project.
Lots of fun and way more post production than I expected
Beach sand isnt strong enough to hold a heavy car at that angle with just a few feet of it in the sand.. thats what caught my eye first

This is absolutly brilint. Love it.
I drove a 74 beetle for five years in the late 90’s and I miss driving it all the time.
I also am a computer nerd , not a car guy, and I spent 14k over five years keeping the bug running. Unless you are a car nerd, owning a vintage vehicle isn’t worth the grief.
It’s better to send it along to someone who can appreciate it.
This forced-perspective idea is similar to the one my cousin and I used to film a short action film with a HotWheels car many years ago 😄🚗🎥
I think using a split diopter or a longer lens like a 135-200 to blend the background/foreground paralax together would help sell the effect.
I think with 4k cameras my eye can see the lack of details in the model being closer to camera contrasted with the resolution softness of the actress being far away and it gives the scale away for me. But with a diopter or a tighter lens I think its be harder to catch/help sell the effect.
