Why do women always try to blame things on other people for their own mistakes. There's nothing to blame JYP, stop trying to blame him just because he's old and ugly. Women ☕
@@fish9840 it isn't fun to poke blame at others, which they haven't done. Y'all are the same people that creates controversy over a little thing a celebrity has done. Cause y'all looove to blame othe people. (As a joke)
I still remember how surprised I was by Alcohol-Free. There were so many bright summer songs that I wasn't sure how TWICE was going to make something bigger. Instead, they went for the chill and pleasant approach to make the perfect song for lounging in the warm summer air. It's mature but not in the action movie way.
yeah, but in general jype is far from having any IDENTITY CRISIS..... jype KNOWS how to market and direct their groups... wonder girls had their own retro vibe, miss A had their own as well, and twice? have you ever felt like any of those groups overlapped with one another? No! and ITZY, they have blackpink vibes but still, they have a very teen-angst disney channel vibe to them at times but never have they ever felt like anything from the other groups...they all are so unique and differ from one another a lot, you'll never confuse their groups/songs for one another, ever, if theres one thing the company's good at, it's at forming unique and different groups and then making them SHINE BABY
and what’s crazy is that jyp just announced that they’re debuting ANOTHER girl group soon with american girls a la survival show, but you can’t even keep the groups you have on a consistent concept?
no i actually like the change for nmixx (and twice to a certain extent). but there were some people who were upset with nmixx dropping mixxpop. i'm just discussing how they've all lost the plot when it comes to their original image/sound/concept.
Good to know the change is gaining fans. But I unstanned NMIXX cuz I was there for the mixpop thing. I love and support the girls, just won't be supporting the group anymore
something i've come to dislike about 4th gen/current kpop is the over-reliance on aesthetics and visuals. likeee it's a stretch to say that kpop isn't and was never largely about visuals...cause it is. but with companies debuting groups younger and younger, with members having less and less training, it's really starting to become obvious when comebacks are solely marketed based on "vibes" with little to no musical, vocal, or rap substance behind it. and of course companies can get away with this because stans (like aja mentioned) will force-feed any content their favs release to themselves and to everyone around them, especially within the fandom echo chamber itself. i need companies to actually start experimenting with different sounds and producers again (🚫🚫🚫NOT IN A MIXXPOP WAY🚫🚫🚫🚫) instead of trying to create a song for the tiktok algorithm or some shit because i can guarantee it will sound so damn dated in a couple years.
@@midnightpill0ww literally!!! because why are kpop stans (esp on twitter) making thinkpieces about how we should stop debuting minors... then stanning those exact same groups with 13-15 year olds in them 🤨
tbh i don’t feel like this is a new phenomenon in kpop. visuals have always been a huge part. in the past girl groups were mainly targeting male audiences, so visuals were incredibly important
i think itzy didnt need to change their sound bc theywere doing just fine up until not shy ?? like .. everyone liked their music and you could hear it everywhere, now i feel like i might hear it on a tiktok just as a backround music. and everytime they anounce a comeback it makes 0 noise so

But i didn’t like Dalla at first but come to like d/t a award performance.it’s just a preference so they don’t need to cater & please evry single person.
twice has been staying true to their roots (cute and bubbly sound) with their recent group jp releases (celebrate, hare hare) while experimenting with a more western mature sound in their most recent kr release (set me free). idk i feel like they’re just testing the waters. they seem to enjoy diving into the retro disco pop dua lipa typa sound tho together with fromis but fromis kinda did a better job! (saying this as a once)
disco would be a good genre for twice. I don't like twice's music nor disco music at all, but disco is good to experiment with. it's commercially friendly, similar to their current genres (dance & pop) and you can make suitable outfits and dance choreos for it.
I really loved I can't stop me. That and alcohol free, and really vibed with that concept route. Set me free isn't bad but it's nothing to write home about and talk that talk had a sneakers effect for me, cause I was kinda hoping for something like espresso based on the visual concept teasers. I really hope they go towards stuff like that, but at least they have more freedom to experiment and find their sound.
it's very obvious that jype kind of gave up on expanding them as a group artistically and are pushing out these quick mini albums with zero effort or thought put into them, it's so noticeable from the song to the marketing that they really don't care and it's a quick cash grab for the company at this point. BUT the good side of it is that they really put a lot of effort into their solo work, first with nayeon and now with misamo, definitely with jihyo was well like they are really good at building individual brands for them (best solo/subunit work out of the entire 3rd gen so far imo) so i guess not all is lost. i would honestly love if they took time off from group activities after this tour ends and work on an album PROPERLY like they did with taste of love because that was their last EXCELLENT era all the group work afterwards has just been very...ehh.
@@onlineuser252 i agree sm omfg. i feel like they should just stop releasing music as a group for now and focus on their solos/subunits more cus so far the subunits have released better/more put together music than the group activities imo
I'd kill for these JYP groups to have one session with SM's music team. Literally just give em 2 hours to sort everything out, conceptually and musically. On a side note, I was pleasantly surprised by Roller Coaster. Lo and behold it was produced by the person who blessed us with DM and The Feels, please keep paying this man JYP 🙏
First of all JYP suck at doing mixx pop. Just because sm has success at it, doesn’t mean he can do it. Sm had 10 years to practice and perfect doing mixx pop not to mention all the different writers they bring in to help them do it. Jyp does not no how to do it. Ur supposed to blend the the multiple genres together into one seamless song and it’s supposed to not notice able, something jyp failed to do. If he wants to do it, all he has to do is go to sm and get a lesson from them.
@@lilacbuni Im not new to SM, I actually love their artistic direction and they've had a very big influence on my own music. The point i was trying to make is that i feel like nowadays some of the groups don't have a sonic difference. Plus Girls by aespa is literally an NCT reject song.
dalla dalla was honestly an amazing song along with icy, but ever since wannabe I just felt the music became less and less 'itzy-like'. I say this in terms of the teen crush concept, like yes they talk about loving themselves still but itzy's best thing was the fun and loud sounding songs, idk if I explained it well but I truly believe itzy should go back to that idgaf I love myself concept with big loud noise instead of whatever they're doing rn (not shy is kinda safe)
you realize they aren’t teens anymore right…? they’re adults and they’re going to have more mature concepts. you guys live in the past and boys like you, sneakers were that idgaf concept.
@@dianondle maybe i misunderstood your comment but I'm pretty sure as adults they can keep that I love myself idgaf concept, maturity doesn't mean throwing away that concept. also its v clear that itzy's cbs aren't 'maturing', its like following a trend imo 🤷♀boys like you and sneakers were very weak compared to dalla dalla and icy. its not living in the past I'm just saying that if they still kept that concept it would've suited the group much better.
Sneakers was a throwback to their original sound and concept and they got RIPPED apart for it (Justice for sneakers it’s one of my favs)… to be honest I don’t think there’s anything they could release now that won’t be criticized no matter what concept it is.
I think that from the jump MIXX pop should've been cute genre combining that just blends easily! Like pop punk paramore vibes mixed with pink pantheress DNB or mixing rnb and bubble gum pop! Where you hear a bunch of different influences but it's not the stark change sound. I def love their visual concept tho and LOVE ME LIKE THIS was great tbh.
I don't know why JYP is so afraid of the original teen pop itzy. WANNABE WAS HEARD EVERYWHERE! Every DALLA was DALLAING! WE WERE ALL ICY! They slowly changed with not shy and other titles and those still felt itzy but now they feel nugu! like if they weren't JYP they would be a boring NUGU! They need to pick and develop a concept quick or they will forever be forgotten! (it's already a bit too late IMO) It's just disappointing because they had SO much potential.
@@avainspired sneakers and boys like you is right there…? and just because they release ONE song with a more mature sound doesn’t mean they’ve let go of the ‘fun music!’
@@dianondle Never said they let go of it... I understand boys like you and sneakers were teen pop inspired but it's still different from their original style. I'm all for groups maturing but there's a way to do it in a "fun" way. By fun I mean like club music, I'm a midzy btw so don't come for me LOL
I'm with you on NMIXX's concept change like on the one hand their old music kinda sucked but on the other hand it's a bit sad that they completely abandoned their original concept because now they don't really have an identity of their own. I feel like they could have come up with a more cohesive take one their original concept. But at the breakneck speed that kpop releases I can see why they opted to just abandon the concept all together.
They do and still have an identity of being like Stray Kidz + Mamamoo + Itzy on steroids 4th Gen Girl Group (wild and bold). I think their management should focus on their vocal colors and capability to make good songs instead of indentity. Say NewJeans for example. One can say they are "that y2k group nothing too special" but they make good songs. IVE has no identity and nothing special too but they also make good songs.
Perfectly said! If they would’ve improved their mixxpop sound it could’ve been such a success. I feel like JYP is a little lost with them rn. Hopefully they get it together soon.
Itzy as a group has been and will always be a group of really talented Idols but certainly the direction of the concept they were pushed to is going under the radar ; since after the cultural reset per say made by Newjeans songs alot of listeners are gravitating towards fresh and light vibes kpop songs and that's why fifty fifty song Cupid was a hit 💯💯 Now if jyp ent management just get their ish together and keep the girls initial concept at least but with a different vibe then we could be looking forward to it
the EDITING omg >>>> (also the impact newjeans has had on newer girl group releases is insane lmao. like i can see it in their music videos and can hear it in their songs)

I have a theory that most groups release amazing songs at the beginning of their careers and after they have built a fanbase the companies just stop caring and release half ass songs bc the fans are just going to consume it anyway... some exceptions ofc but this is how I see most groups and cbs
I think this is true for most kpop groups. They usually debut with a concept in mind and follow it really well and then struggle to grow from their initial concept after a few yrs especially because most idols have no input into the music that is made (how do they grow from that initial image to something different that the company will usually decide? It must be difficult). Kepler is a good example of what happens when the company has no real strategy and is just using the group to get money (most mnet survival groups are really just that🫤). I wish they had a better concept since 2.5 yrs are a waste of potential unless the company sticks to something concrete with the yr left👀
Jyp kinda has this problem were they either do to much of not enough. They will either completely change your individually and sound for something more marketable or use the same concept even if it isn't helping your numbers.
people still dragging ITZY for sneakers it's so annoying like the track is ok and K-pop stans were so dramatic about it i feel like they'll never recover after this
JYP gave no advertising or teaser video for BET ON ME. All they did was put out a few photos on Facebook and instagram. Most people did not know BET ON ME was out until they saw it in recommendation. It is also only available on RUclips last time I checked.
@@seelesimsthey recently say they are nervous for the new songs and in some Korea university festivals they keep asking to the public they favorite song, sneakers era ruined they confidence and also many fans have trust issues
I don't think this is only happening on JYP. I've seen so many other groups struggling to renew or to find a good way to express their concept... Like, I've already seen people talking about the beggining of a fifth generation as the motivation for these changes on fourth gen concept. What do you think about that? I really liked the video! ❤
you should do a analysis video on groups you think has/had a great concept execution over a period of time (rv, f(x), weekly (lol not them ofc), etc etc you get the point)
I mean let’s be honest itzy never really changed their core concept of self love itzy has always been about that the songs just don’t fit it sometimes like sneakers ahem

The problem is JYP, They claim to be leaders in entertainment but as soon as they're groups get hate for trying something new they switch up and make their music blend in with the rest of the industry Itzy Gets hate for love yourself concept... Identity crisis Nmixx gets hate for their A side bside concept... identity crisis Twice gets told to grow up... Identity crisis If I'm being honest Twice had it the least worse because with comebacks like Talk that talk you can see they haven't lost their concept at all, Though I do want to say their song CRAZY STUPID LOVE is clearly a CRAZY IN LOVE reject, JYP didn't even try to hide it either 😅 Itzy on the other hand are getting the short end of the stick, People enjoyed their Japanese title track way more than their Korean title tracks As for NMIXX they're fairly newish group, Its confusing to see which parts of their concept got scraped and which ones didn't, I think they're on the right track though
I honestly don't mind concept changes. I feel like Itzy and Nmixx are free to mix it up as they see fit, since they have (presumably) the full 7 years to build a fanbase. And Twice were doing the cute thing for so long, I'm happy they're experimenting. I think groups like Kep1er and ZB1 might need to focus on a single concept and trademark sound since they don't have a lot of time to create a fanbase for themselves, but more permanent groups don't need to worry about it as much. Now, music quality is another thing, and while I like most of these groups' recent releases, I understand the complaints that Twice has gotten boring or Itzy's recent title tracks haven't been up to par. But concept and signature sound isn't really a thing I focus on, music I like is music I like.
I think when a group or artist change their concept, there should be a reason why they are doing it. A group which is a good example for this is fromis_9. They debuted with a cute concept but throughout the years they have matured their sound rather than changing it completely, plus we can still tell it's a fromis song even though their sound has changed because they still managed to keep their own sound and concept which explains why this "new" sound is accepted by the public and fans. On the other hand, Itzy also had a concept in the beginning of their careers, but since 2021 they have been jumping in and out from one concept to another without any explanation, which makes sense why people have mixed feelings and negative expectations every time they announce something new. No one likes unpredictability, they want to know what to expect from you so they don't get startled by the sudden changes, and that's exactly what's happening with itzy for the past two years.
@@Slayoonno. don’t blame fans. this is not on us. we embraced the concept change to a more mature concept (except knetz), it was their company that failed them and gave them bad music and a bad interpretation of a more mature concept. you’re blaming midzys and other causal fans for not just streaming what itzy puts out…
Itzy debut timing was perfect… there was a lull with RV BP not releasing anything new at that time… there wasn’t anything happening and Itzy made a huge impact, being one of the first 4th gen capitalizing their youth and distinct sound. Now… 4th gen is jam packed with new gg that have made a huge impact and itzy can’t bank on their youth or their initial sound signature anymore. Never known for their singing… where do they go sonically?
If I was a member of itzy I would just be leaking demos left and right, so he can kick me out of the group or change the whole comeback song. Win-win situation.
yeah it’s insane that each of their active ggs are in the same exact situation rn. i can only assume that the influx of new groups and trends is just overwhelming hence why nmixx and itzy are concept hopping while twice is mostly just pumping out generic single after the next to appease both markets. they clearly can’t really navigate the kpop scene rn and their recent successes seem more like luck/timing.
IZ*ONE is a great example of sticking to their image while the producers are also being creative and exploring different themes. They could be one of the strongest 4th Gen groups now
I personally liked both the mixxpop and the newer tracks, but the just the switch we always seem messy and a it seems that jyp is just using these girls as a experiment. Like this went well but it obviously could of went wrong and any real major company who cares about their artists wouldnt want to take that risk this earlier in they career. Like even though they were flopping for a jyp group people were opening up to the mess that was mixxpop after dice so the sudden change was just very weird and just seem like they wanted some quick success.
i remember a couple of weeks ago a former once was trying to start a discussion on twitter about why twice was losing a lot of their die hard fans, only for the post to be taken down bc op was bombarded with hate from other onces. i guess jype wants them to be more marketable in the us, even though their old sound was great. ever since they renewed their contracts, their music has shifted and has become uninteresting. literally the only bside released in the past year that anyone knows is basics, which wasn't even the promoted bside on the album. it's like jype wants to get new (specifically american) fans at any cost, even if it means leaving the old fans in the dust. peak twice IMO was taste of love, when every song on the album was worked on by twice; it's a shame we'll probably never get anything like that again.
I’m extremely new to Kpop. Can you explain why Twice’s new songs are uninteresting? Like I’m from the west so is the whole American sound uninteresting? What songs are the interesting that you are referring to? I’ll take a listen and compare so I can learn 😊
@@sunshyner8596 twice debuted in 2015 and they established themselves pretty quickly as 'the nation's girl group'. they were known for cute and bubblegum-like songs with their signature twice sound, and most of the songs from this era (likey, what is love, cheer up) were huge hits. in 2019, they released fancy and something changed. this was twice's first time doing a mature concept, and this was the era where they lost a lot of fanboys because of the concept switch. however, fancy, feel special, and icsm eras were huge international hits and got them even more fans. even though the concept changed and twice got more mature and darker, they still made upbeat and fun music that initially brought them to the spotlight. peak twice (imo) was 2021 with the release of alcohol free and scientist. both albums (taste of love and formula of love) experimented with new sounds and genres yet still sounded like twice. the members were involved with the production of both albums and this was the time period where jeongyeon came back. when twice renewed their contracts, they also were signed to a record label under Republic Records in america. i think this is the primary reason behind their sound change and the push to american markets. their first comeback after the contract renewal was talk that talk in 2022; it was a fun upbeat song that had the twice signature sound. however, when twice released moonlight sunrise and set me free, they started losing fans during this era. i think it's because twice doesn't really sound like kpop anymore; in an effort to market themselves in the us, they lost the iconic twice sound in the process. rather than following korean trends in music, they follow american trends instead, resulting in them losing the sound that made them twice. for example, queen of hearts is following the olivia rodrigo teen rock trend. moonlight sunrise is riding the coattails of sweetest pie by dua lipa. set me free is minimalistic and chic, but it feels empty and unfulfilling compared to their old music. some of twice's old songs that defined twice (imo): what is love, up no more, baby blue love, moonlight, eyes eyes eyes, oxygen newer songs to compare to: queen of hearts, wallflower, any songs on their newer album tbh.
A well-done video in terms of the editing and performance. Perhaps TWICE has found themselves in the lead (maybe the top gg - not BP world type - but massive in worldwide scale and re-upping contract with all the original members intact as one of the very few to do so) and as a long-lasting 9 person group, this is uncharted territory in scope - what else can they do but expand? NMIXX's new single broke them through somewhat and most of us are really happy they ditched the mixxpop thing as it was limiting for them. They can still do that here and there while also putting out music people can understand and compete with their peers. ITZY is one of my favorites, and I admit they are also all over the map. Mafia to me was when I said "Huh?" It seemed their vibe was being different due to being themselves, not playing characters. (But now when I hear the song on shuffle or see it live, it is exciting and fun, so I was wrong as it adds to the playlist in a fun way.) Yeji might agree with you though. When they were recently recording a video with JYP for GET THAT GROOVE BACK they had this lunch with JYP where Yeji seemed to have a cloud hanging over her head and she was bothered by inconsistency in reaction to their efforts. JYP didn't answer her questions properly but instead was hyper-focused on each of them becoming solo artists. (Seemingly, to Yeji, they haven't solidified yet.) But there they went, releasing Chaeryeong's solo IU cover. Ultimately, Twice aren't going to be NewJeans. If you liked Jihyo's CACTUS (which I loved) then I look forward to her nailing a solo album with ballads she is writing. I don't need her to be off the wall. TWICE concerts just leveled up. I heard the NY one was so great. Their Japanese releases are fantastic and I am hearing HARE HARE everywhere in Tokyo. Overall totally enjoying them still. As I said, happy for NMIXX to hit 23M in just a couple days on ROLLER COASTER. ITZY's new single did well trending, and I like the song. They are way too cool not to watch always for me. I want to go to ITZY COZY HOUSE! (But I do want them to strike oil with another WANNABE or DALLA DALLA for their sake). With all three of these groups, the evidence is they are working NON-STOP to do as much as humanly possible and are giving so much good stuff that perhaps if someone is bored with them, it is due to being spoiled. (Not an indictment, but just an observation) because god knows right now, NJ, LS, IVE, Yena, Lee Chaeyeong, Kwon Eun Bi, Jo Yuri, Aespa, Classy, and like 10 others are delivering above and beyond and it might be easy to feel a sense of malaise even though years ago receiving just one or two of these groups would seem like a treat.
i feel kind of bad though for itzy because they went from being the undisputed top 4th gen gg to being strongly doubted given the competitivity within the kpop world and their last releases not touching their debut. now i’m going to be honest, i think they’re only strong dancers/performers and i’ve never been invested in their discography like no bsides at all and i still don’t care for them (only dalla dalla and maybe not shy are good for me) but i do think they’ve gotten a highly bad rep these years as the ‘gg whose music quality went downhill’ though i hear many claim checkmate is a cohesive and pleasant album. jyp is the main culprit obviously and it shows because considering how nmixx is literally the most talented girl group this generation vocally and dancing-wise, they’re not even among the top girlgroups (again i dislike the competition aspect in the k-industry but it’s probably never going to dissipate and i won’t deny its relevance). i personally believe vocalists are needed to kind of elevate a song but it seems like in kpop you can just trust a good producing team and you’re good (no shade) so jyp needs to realise that and stop with chanty girlcrush stuff and actually rethink their visions in reference to wonder girls’ too, legends for a reason.
i feel in love with itzy because they are very dance and rap heavy, you usually only see that with boy groups. i wish they can try electro r&b and hip hop soul.
Back in the day Jay Park was a guest in a variety show that talked about what goes on as he's creating. The one thing that immediately caught my mind was exactly.what you pointed out years later....and that he gives off a vibe that whatever is trending or famous at that point in time, he "takes advantage of it" and tries to infuse it into his scheme. This was evident long before he "desired" to create a reality show to find the next nation's girl group in 2015. As an old school follower of kpop going back to 2007, I already saw this in his other groups back then. Now that the fog is starting to clear, you are clearly seeing it before your eyes leaving little doubt about the speculation. Oddly enough, it took groups from the smaller or unknown companies to expose it. And how they were unique enough to actually create a genuine style. Then JYP swoops in and somehow makes it seem his groups have done it all along as well. For the casual normie and especially the diehard fans, it's no big deal. But for a seasoned fan of the genre, it's easily spotted and comes off as desperate and cheesy.
i feel like for itzy and twice some of, or maybe a lot of the pressure comes from fans and the expectation that artists need to evolve over the course of their career. in twice's case, i think it was just handled very poorly. we saw the potential that their maturation would bring in taste of love (alcohol free) and formula of love (scientist) however what sets those songs aside from Other releases is that iirc as you said it still retains a glimpse of their past mixed with the future. in itzy's case.. i think changing them was just the wrong thing to do. dalla dalla, icy, and yeah sneakers are perfectly appropriate concepts for them and it just seems like jyp tried to reinvent the wheel when itzy already had a car.
as for nmixx i feel like someone in the division finally took out their ear plugs and decided something had to be done and i am rather thankful for that
idk i just feel like. evolution and changing your sound doesn't have to be sudden and jarring, most groups shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel, especially when they're under jyp. it's hard for most groups to suddenly shift gears, except if you're like wonder girls coming back with reboot or apink coming back with im so sick (we freaking love you) i think most groups should take the lovelyz route instead, where yeah they did tailor and adjust their concept as they matured, but from start to end, at the core, it was still all undeniably lovelyz, and it never felt rushed or that they were trying to fit into something they weren't ready for yet
Did you see the most recent Loona news yet? On top of Vivi and Hyunjin, Yeojin, Gowon and Olivia Hye have now joined CNTD, leaving Yves as the only one without a label Now... No shade to the CNTD girls but.. who gon sing 😭
Interesting analysis. Personally I like Twice’s change. They are mid to late twenties now. I definitely felt Itzy Japanese releases of voltage and blah blah blah we’re very fitting and should have been also released as a Korean side.
Musically, NMIXX did great with this comeback. Roller Coaster is kinda viral too (despite it's being a pre-release). I hope JYPE won't give the girls a drastic change in the concept again unless they don't want to see women successful.
I really like MIXXPOP 😭 it fit them so well and allows for many songs to be combined together. I really hope they eventually return to using more MIXXPOP, or actually fusing genres together to create a new sound
Mixxpop was bad.. But it was different and unique.. I didn't like 0.0 but the other song was good. Now it's again being basic which is good for sales ig but like there's no originality anymore
i agree mostly bec its really evident that the cause of identity lost among jyp ggs is the lack of originality and the tendency to hop on the trendy concepts. If the current trend will lose hype for sure its another cocnept for jyp ggs.. like plss yall not red velvet just do better in ure own cocnepts and u will be good
@@no4528 I'm still wondering why no one stole that concept after they abandoned it... maybe the mv's are too difficult/expensive to make with all of these video game thingys

i find the hate towards nmixx's concept change so funny bc so many ppl were like "fuck this mixxpop concept change it" and now they did, but suddenly everyones switched up.
I also wish JYP would invest more into Itzy’s vocal training. I think they could handle a lot of the songs better. Idk sometimes their songs just throw me off bc I feel someone’s yelling into my ear (maybe the mixing also plays a part in this) and I think the more mature concepts could come off/sound better if that weren’t the case. Rn it just feels like this style doesn’t fit them.
i feel their songs would be so much better if they put them all in some vocal training and lowered the key. cheshire could’ve been great if they weren’t all screaming in my ear

itzy's music has never been my cup of tea, but what i could say for their older tracks is that at least i found them catchy, even up until cheshire. boys like you will not be mentioned it does not exist. however, while watchign the bet on me m/v i felt... nothing??? it really sounded like jisoo's flower: EMPTY. it has no highs, no lows... it's that kind of song that you can fall asleep to because it is so one note. and the m/v didn't feel like itzy at all, like i get the more serious theme, but i was soooo bored!!! as for twice, i really like talk that talk, but yeah set me free was boring too. i enjoy listening to the album a lot because it's very cohesive and the tracks are all good, but come on it's TWICE we're talking about!!! compared to their other tracks this feels like nothing. it's decent, but that's it
you felt nothing because it wasn’t meant for you. they got hate and midzys did too. it was meant for itzy and midzys just like trust me, and domino. and you seriously want a song about their troubles and worries to be catchy?
@@dianondle i totally get what you mean and my comment wasn’t meant to sound mean, i was just expressing my opinion. as i said in the beginning i do not generally like itzy’s music, however i really love the girls: chaeryeong and yuna are literally among my favourite idols in the industry! the lyrics were nice and i GET why they made that song, but it just fell flat for me. idk, i think that there are ways you can express a concept and it didn’t work for me, but i understand why it might be a special song for midzys. and i’m a neverland, and i have the same opinion for gidle even though they’re my ults! like from a musical standpoint, queencard, and tomboy don’t hold a candle to songs like hann, hwaa and oh my god. i appreciate the concept and everything, but the music could be excecuted better. same with bet on me. i appreciate why it was made, but felt bored and moved on because it wasn’t my thing. and i’m not trying to spread hate or anything, i was just stating my opinion under a video. it’s not like i would comment that under the m/v or their post, i’m not crazy hahaha
i mean if you read the lyrics you’d understand why. it’s a song for their fandom to show what they went through and how they’ll keep going. i felt it was boring when i didn’t read the lyrics but then after it resonated with a lot of people. i would say their next prerelease kill my doubt is gonna be what you’re looking for
@@fayei i get what you mean, but despite the lyrics the song was not it. it’s just not for me, i love the girl but i’m not a midzy. i understand why it may be so special to their fans, but i’m not one so i just didn’t like the song
Thats interesting. I felt the exact opposite when I listened to Bet On Me. Maybe it was just from my personal past experiences, but the lyrics really hit me differently. As for the m/v, it was definitely on the more "boring" side of things. All they did was scenic clips and the members running. There wasnt any dancing, vibrant colors, or anything that made the m/v flashy or stand out. I viewed it as a stylistic choice though, because a song talking about being "true to yourself" matches with a raw/minimalistic m/v. I found that other itzy songs like Dalla Dalla or Wannabe which also talks about self love lost its lyrical meaning when they combined it with flashy m/vs that attracted all the attention. Just my thoughts.
i do agree that twice is not being used to their full potential and i really wish they'd experiment with concepts and genres a bit more and that they wouldn't be afraid to be even more bold, i feel like they're a bit stuck releasing safe material
I actually feel like they did what needed to be done with NMIXX, they didn't know how to defend the concept nor how to make it appealing to the general public. And what can I say, if you know u can't do it properly, dont do it, dont waste your money.
sadly all jyp ent does is chase trends and make marketable music, which to an extent is the objective of all companies but jyp makes it so obvious. copying other group’s concepts the moment they are going viral and switching to the next popular thing immediately without regard. this way their artists both struggle to please the korean gp and form a dedicated fanbase. i’ve been a once since middle school (going to uni next year) and gosh their “american commercial” music makes me so sad. it’s not bad, i don’t want them to go back to their cute concept cause they have successfully shown they’ve matured, but i feel like jyp attributes their growing popularity in the west to the change in sound (and keep doing that) while it’s thanks to a dedicated fanbase garnered by the girls themselves :(
NMixx is really talented, but the o.o and Tank random mix was too hard to listen to and became nonsense! And yes, they thought they were copying Aespa's monster debuts and changes that SM likes, but they failed, and had to go back to more mainstream Kpop, and sprinkle in more RnB with New Jeans success in pushing a style of it. I really liked Itzy's first few songs, but Sneakers followed by the totally wonky Mafia in the Morning did it for me. I feel bad for the girls, because this is a producer team (headed by you know who) that was running out of ideas, creativity, and stuck in their own Bubble to produce that song. Also NMIxx using a French nursery rhyme as their chorus in Young Dumb Stupid (en francais, "Frere Jacques") just seemed utterly lazy and grasping for anything for creative inspiration. I've kind of drifted away from JYPE GG and really enamored by the Japanese GG XG! They are so fresh, so talented, such all around aces, with real Rap, great choreo and dance, smooth vocals, they have really got me, and a lot of western fans (still a lot of hate from many Knetz). And their RnB and Hip HJop concept is a sweet spot for me. I am tired of Kpop Talk/Rap, or Sing Rap, i.e. Dahyun and Chaeyoung (i love them, but not their Wiki Wiki Emergency type Rap). .I didn't particularly like Nayeon's Pop Pop ( too bubble gum for me) but I really liked her "No Problem" which was more mature and had a good vibe to it. And I adore the J-Line, but their MiSaMo trio song was meh. I love Jihyo, too, but her solo song isn't doing very well.
The problem with JYP and the groups identity crisis is the obvious trend chasing that he's always done. He's always changing sound chasing what's new and by the time his group releases we already moved on or seen something more interesting. That's why every time Itzy and Nmixx come back a lot of people are like wtf is this especially in 2022-23
You know putting jyp here Linda makes no sense yea he produces some songs but not all of them he isn’t the ceo and the producing and management team is more than one person like he doesn’t really have that full authority to decide what sound he wants the grp to have like he isn’t producing all the songs in every of jype girl grp either and he isn’t the one choosing which is the title track so saying it’s his problem kinda is invalid
@retricallltann6243 hes not the ceo but he's the creative director behind a lot of these groups and ceo or not his imput carries weight into what music/concepts/etc his groups gets every cb
Yes to everything you said! In regards to Itzy, it’s so very true that they had a concept/sound change wayyy to early in their career. They’re way to young to be worried about needing a mature sound. They had self confident lyrics that were not focused on love, mixed with amazing, memorable dances. Why change that? I honestly don’t get it. Also I think it’s dumb to try to trick your audience? Checkmate/Sneakers was an awful promotional tactic. Why do you want your audience to feel dumb? I don’t get it. In regards to Twice, I agree that they do have a mostly cohesive sound recently. I was talking with a friend who was confused about their direction and it made me realize they’ve been doing a retro/synth pop sound. If you pay attention, they’ve actually been doing this pretty consistently since ICSM. However, I think that their music videos need to highlight this aspect more. Not in a trendy Y2K way, but in a very clear retro concept/visual/outfit/editing/etc. way. Then their aesthetics match up with their newer sound and people can digest it easier. In regard to their maturity in concept, I agree that they could stand to have more fun & brightness in their music. I think that a lot of KPop music is losing the KPop quirkiness as they are marketing towards the US. It’s kind of upsetting because that’s what drew me into KPop in the first place. Also, there is a trend where people would praise groups for their “duality” & “range” and I think this was the start of the end of cohesion in a group’s sound. People are so quick to try to prove how talented their favs are by saying “they can do it all!” without any consideration to whether they _should_ do it all. This is what leads to comebacks that are so wildly different in not only sound, but concepts and aesthetics. I crave a full blown commitment to a solid vision, and a comeback that is closely tied to a concept/story/sound, rather than comebacks that try to grasp at any and all things at once. I’d rather have an idol who is excellent & the best of the best in one aspect, while being average in others. I find that way more impressive than idols who are just above average in all aspects and don’t have anything that stands out. (No hate to anyone in particular).
always enjoy you experimenting with the editing style, making it more fun and adding personality to the video. all of this editing really portrays AJA and can only be done by you! fantastic opinion.
I really hope MIXXPOP comes back 😭 Ik they called LMLT a MIXXPOP song, but it just isn’t the same. I would REALLY love a twist on MIXXPOP akin to Splatoon 3’s Deep Cut’s music.
Twice is a mature group that is dominating the American market and they can sell out entire stadiums in America you say they don't take their concepts seriously girl you need to fix your mind are you serious
I think twice becoming one of the biggest acts in kpop set the girls up… the management wasn’t ready, the A&R wasn’t ready, the members may not have been ready in their way too. And because they got so greedy and noticed that ggs were going to be the main event for 4th gen, they decided to debut two groups before twice fully experimented and complemented their already loved and existing sound to fit the current landscape. Now itzy and nmixx had to go to gimmicks, and when it didn’t work/they wanted to change up the sound (which was unfortunate bc I genuinely liked mixxpop and teen crushy expirimental vibe of early itzy), they resorted to the safest option or to trends that are just out of style. This is really unfortunate for me, as I enjoy both itzy and nmixx and see their potential as the f(x) daughters they were designed to be. Unless the company has an intensive meeting with everyone and make clear stances on what they want the identity of these three groups to be, we won’t see the artists progress. It’s a shame the boys never have this problem :-/
Twice I feel doesn't have to compete, but push their visual style harder, and being a little bit more daring. Now they should be writing more, and producing a lot of their own content. They should be expanding their musical palette and collaborating with more foreign artists because they are expanding into Western markets. They have earned their spot and being a beacon of light for 4th generation. Itzy should be able to experiment more, but their loud, quirky style works for them. Now with a few years under their belt; they should be allowed to improve in what works for them. NMixx....... they should not try to be NewJeans. But they are allowing more vocal proformances so that is working. Now they should be allowing the girls to write more so they dont look so..... forced on stage. And they should be learning how to balance their vocal abilities with their footwork like Broadway proformers.
i hope after jihyos solo, misamos debut, and their tour is done, jype lets twice take a long and needed hiatus then figure out what to do with them. twice has never really had bad title tracks (imo). they had title tracks that were like "eh" but not doodoo served on a platter. but set me free? DOODOO served on a platter. i pretended to like it since twice is my ult gg but after a few weeks i couldn't do it anymore. i think jype not too long ago figured out that twice is one of the biggest kpop acts (the 3rd, if i say so myself) and didn't know what to do. it's clear they made "ready to be" to be something sweet for the west. mind you, the west didn't even like it and korea most definitely didn't. jype needs to get rid of the tackiness in their latest mvs/concepts, give good music/concepts, have a high budget instead of a quarter and two pennies, give out some history lessons, and let mother slash jeongyeon have more lines.

Good to know the change is gaining fans. But I unstanned NMIXX cuz I was there for the mixpop thing. I love and support the girls, just won't be supporting the group anymore
I actually miss the mixxpop but their new stuff is good as well
their new concept is also still mixxpop, im not sure tho abt their newest release
something i've come to dislike about 4th gen/current kpop is the over-reliance on aesthetics and visuals. likeee it's a stretch to say that kpop isn't and was never largely about visuals...cause it is. but with companies debuting groups younger and younger, with members having less and less training, it's really starting to become obvious when comebacks are solely marketed based on "vibes" with little to no musical, vocal, or rap substance behind it.
and of course companies can get away with this because stans (like aja mentioned) will force-feed any content their favs release to themselves and to everyone around them, especially within the fandom echo chamber itself. i need companies to actually start experimenting with different sounds and producers again (🚫🚫🚫NOT IN A MIXXPOP WAY🚫🚫🚫🚫) instead of trying to create a song for the tiktok algorithm or some shit because i can guarantee it will sound so damn dated in a couple years.
maybe they also shoudn't be debuting kids/ such young idols

twice has been staying true to their roots (cute and bubbly sound) with their recent group jp releases (celebrate, hare hare) while experimenting with a more western mature sound in their most recent kr release (set me free). idk i feel like they’re just testing the waters. they seem to enjoy diving into the retro disco pop dua lipa typa sound tho together with fromis but fromis kinda did a better job!
Yess, Roller Coaster is just a masterpiece (in my opinion), I really like those summer songs that are chill but pretty and fun !!
they would probs give them an nct reject like they did with aespa and shinee

I love this new editing style omg
I thought everyone loved bet on me by itzy, at least from what I've seen, people loves the songs and the message carries behind.
I mean let’s be honest itzy never really changed their core concept of self love itzy has always been about that the songs just don’t fit it sometimes like sneakers ahem
It was boring and uninspired - plus their voices do not suit that kinda song
@@aqsah14 you can have your opinion but I don't agree, the lyrics is nice and meaningful and I actually like their voices in this song surprisingly
@@aqsah14 their voices were beautiful and the song wasn’t for the public it was for midzy and themselves bcs it’s about their struggles and them moving on and not looking back. it made so many midzy cry😭
@@angelme6666 yeah it’s about believing in your own feelings as there is no right answer to your worries and questions about yourself
okay wow I just need to comment on how fucking stunning this editing is. Like this was genuinely such a beautiful experience and I JUST GOTTA SAY THAT NOBODY DOING IT LIKE AJANAE! 💕
What if itzy just doesn’t work well together as a group tbh
The problem is JYP, They claim to be leaders in entertainment but as soon as they're groups get hate for trying something new they switch up and make their music blend in with the rest of the industry
Itzy Gets hate for love yourself concept... Identity crisis
Nmixx gets hate for their A side bside concept... identity crisis
Twice gets told to grow up... Identity crisis
If I'm being honest Twice had it the least worse because with comebacks like Talk that talk you can see they haven't lost their concept at all, Though I do want to say their song CRAZY STUPID LOVE is clearly a CRAZY IN LOVE reject, JYP didn't even try to hide it either 😅
Itzy on the other hand are getting the short end of the stick, People enjoyed their Japanese title track way more than their Korean title tracks
As for NMIXX they're fairly newish group, Its confusing to see which parts of their concept got scraped and which ones didn't, I think they're on the right track though
Never known for their singing… where do they go sonically?

yeah it’s insane that each of their active ggs are in the same exact situation rn. i can only assume that the influx of new groups and trends is just overwhelming hence why nmixx and itzy are concept hopping while twice is mostly just pumping out generic single after the next to appease both markets. they clearly can’t really navigate the kpop scene rn and their recent successes seem more like luck/timing.
@@sunshyner8596 twice debuted in 2015 and they established themselves pretty quickly as 'the nation's girl group'. they were known for cute and bubblegum-like songs with their signature twice sound, and most of the songs from this era (likey, what is love, cheer up) were huge hits.
in 2019, they released fancy and something changed. this was twice's first time doing a mature concept, and this was the era where they lost a lot of fanboys because of the concept switch. however, fancy, feel special, and icsm eras were huge international hits and got them even more fans. even though the concept changed and twice got more mature and darker, they still made upbeat and fun music that initially brought them to the spotlight.
peak twice (imo) was 2021 with the release of alcohol free and scientist. both albums (taste of love and formula of love) experimented with new sounds and genres yet still sounded like twice. the members were involved with the production of both albums and this was the time period where jeongyeon came back.
when twice renewed their contracts, they also were signed to a record label under Republic Records in america. i think this is the primary reason behind their sound change and the push to american markets.
their first comeback after the contract renewal was talk that talk in 2022; it was a fun upbeat song that had the twice signature sound. however, when twice released moonlight sunrise and set me free, they started losing fans during this era.
i think it's because twice doesn't really sound like kpop anymore; in an effort to market themselves in the us, they lost the iconic twice sound in the process. rather than following korean trends in music, they follow american trends instead, resulting in them losing the sound that made them twice. for example, queen of hearts is following the olivia rodrigo teen rock trend. moonlight sunrise is riding the coattails of sweetest pie by dua lipa. set me free is minimalistic and chic, but it feels empty and unfulfilling compared to their old music.
some of twice's old songs that defined twice (imo): what is love, up no more, baby blue love, moonlight, eyes eyes eyes, oxygen
newer songs to compare to: queen of hearts, wallflower, any songs on their newer album tbh.
Love the aesthetics of this video, great job explaining and great job visualizing
OUUU THIS PRODUCTION
This is the only kpop "tea" channel that have creative editing
i feel kind of bad though for itzy because they went from being the undisputed top 4th gen gg to being strongly doubted given the competitivity within the kpop world and their last releases not touching their debut. now i’m going to be honest, i think they’re only strong dancers/performers and i’ve never been invested in their discography like no bsides at all and i still don’t care for them (only dalla dalla and maybe not shy are good for me) but i do think they’ve gotten a highly bad rep these years as the ‘gg whose music quality went downhill’ though i hear many claim checkmate is a cohesive and pleasant album. jyp is the main culprit obviously and it shows because considering how nmixx is literally the most talented girl group this generation vocally and dancing-wise, they’re not even among the top girlgroups (again i dislike the competition aspect in the k-industry but it’s probably never going to dissipate and i won’t deny its relevance). i personally believe vocalists are needed to kind of elevate a song but it seems like in kpop you can just trust a good producing team and you’re good (no shade) so jyp needs to realise that and stop with chanty girlcrush stuff and actually rethink their visions in reference to wonder girls’ too, legends for a reason.
THE NEW EDITING IS SOOO GOOD
I'm in love with this editing style chile
Oh this editing is amazing, I like the direction NMIXX is going, lilke yas vocals
i feel in love with itzy because they are very dance and rap heavy, you usually only see that with boy groups. i wish they can try electro r&b and hip hop soul.
AJA THIS EDITING STYLE IS SO GOOD???

i feel like for itzy and twice some of, or maybe a lot of the pressure comes from fans and the expectation that artists need to evolve over the course of their career.
in twice's case, i think it was just handled very poorly. we saw the potential that their maturation would bring in taste of love (alcohol free) and formula of love (scientist) however what sets those songs aside from Other releases is that iirc as you said it still retains a glimpse of their past mixed with the future.
in itzy's case.. i think changing them was just the wrong thing to do. dalla dalla, icy, and yeah sneakers are perfectly appropriate concepts for them and it just seems like jyp tried to reinvent the wheel when itzy already had a car.
as for nmixx i feel like someone in the division finally took out their ear plugs and decided something had to be done and i am rather thankful for that
idk i just feel like. evolution and changing your sound doesn't have to be sudden and jarring, most groups shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel, especially when they're under jyp. it's hard for most groups to suddenly shift gears, except if you're like wonder girls coming back with reboot or apink coming back with im so sick (we freaking love you)
i think most groups should take the lovelyz route instead, where yeah they did tailor and adjust their concept as they matured, but from start to end, at the core, it was still all undeniably lovelyz, and it never felt rushed or that they were trying to fit into something they weren't ready for yet

Musically, NMIXX did great with this comeback.
Roller Coaster is kinda viral too (despite it's being a pre-release).
I hope JYPE won't give the girls a drastic change in the concept again

i really miss their mixpop era😭😭😭
I really like MIXXPOP 😭 it fit them so well and allows for many songs to be combined together. I really hope they eventually return to using more MIXXPOP, or actually fusing genres together to create a new sound
Mixxpop was bad.. But it was different and unique.. I didn't like 0.0 but the other song was good. Now it's again being basic which is good for sales ig but like there's no originality anymore
i agree mostly bec its really evident that the cause of identity lost among jyp ggs is the lack of originality and the tendency to hop on the trendy concepts. I also wish JYP would invest more into Itzy’s vocal training. I think they could handle a lot of the songs better. Idk sometimes their songs just throw me off bc I feel someone’s yelling into my ear (maybe the mixing also plays a part in this) and I think the more mature concepts could come off/sound better if that weren’t the case. i mean if you read the lyrics you’d understand why. it’s a song for their fandom to show what they went through and how they’ll keep going. i felt it was boring when i didn’t read the lyrics but then after it resonated with a lot of people.
i would say their next prerelease kill my doubt is gonna be what you’re looking for
@@fayei i get what you mean, but despite the lyrics the song was not it. it’s just not for me, i love the girl but i’m not a midzy. i understand why it may be so special to their fans, but i’m not one so i just didn’t like the song
Just my thoughts.
ouuu the editing ate
i do agree that twice is not being used to their full potential and i really wish they'd experiment with concepts and genres a bit more and that they wouldn't be afraid to be even more bold, i feel like they're a bit stuck releasing safe material
OH THE EDITING???? AJA ONCE AGAIN UR TAKING IT
OMG AJA THIS NEW EDITING STYLE LITERALLY ATE THE GIRLS UPPP 🤭🤭
@retricallltann6243 hes not the ceo but he's the creative director behind a lot of these groups and ceo or not his imput carries weight into what music/concepts/etc his groups gets every cb
this edit is so pretty
Not talk-singing and song-rapping, LMAO😂
oh the new editing and layout... ajanugu we really love you
Yes to everything you said!
I would REALLY love a twist on MIXXPOP akin to Splatoon 3’s Deep Cut’s music.
you’re always so right ?? like none of their groups is bad they’re just not interesting anymore that’s why it feels like they lost their thing
Twice is a mature group that is dominating the American market and they can sell out entire stadiums in America you say they don't take their concepts seriously girl you need to fix your mind are you serious
editing is eatingggg omg great video topic too
rollercoaster is soooo cute itll be on repeat for me
I think twice becoming one of the biggest acts in kpop set the girls up… the management wasn’t ready, the A&R wasn’t ready, the members may not have been ready in their way too.
It’s a shame the boys never have this problem :-/
the jyp boys mostly don't have that problem cuz jyp doesn't care about them lmao (and I'm not mad about that)
@@pigeondance well… sorta kinda
And they should be learning how to balance their vocal abilities with their footwork like Broadway proformers.
wow u slayed the editing
30 seconds into the vid and i had to give a like for the editing ajanugu you outdid yourself
Btw your video editing and talking is amazing I don’t think we appreciate that enough.
fantastic video as always, we fawking love you aja
i hope after jihyos solo, misamos debut, and their tour is done, jype lets twice take a long and needed hiatus then figure out what to do with them. twice has never really had bad title tracks (imo). they had title tracks that were like "eh" but not doodoo served on a platter. but set me free?
Although I really liked set me free, I agree with you. I need JYP to let twice, be twice. I hope you understand what I mean.
Jihyo needs a solo
Rtb is literally their highest selling album, what are u on? Lol
@@ivansalas9334 people will still buy an album even if they don’t like it
@@Etherealzyo what kinda logic is that? It can't be that they've gotten more popular in the west?
