I'd like to try SocketCan with a PEAK PCAN usb adapter... Do you think running Linux in a VM would work (Windows host)? If not, does Ubuntu have SocketCan all the cantools / utilities already installed? Reason I ask, is that I tried booting a Kali Linux live dvd I couldn't get can can-utils installed. I tried: apt-get install can-utils (unable to locate package error despite having internet connection) git clone htt...//gh.../can-utils (.git) cd can-utils make sudo make install Not sure why Kali doesn't automatically come with it.. nor why it can't install via Live DVD. So my next step is to use a VM or install a distro that comes with SocketCan already!
