    I love that both of you are helping the other. Such a great example of brothers in arms type of thing. I love both of your channels for separate reasons just as the both of you are different in some ways and could be awarded for resilience and originality. Only a very few youtuber has the gratitude to credit others as much you both do. Carl, it is no shame in breaking out from you comfort zone once in a while. Cooking is fun! Rewarding to see others enjoying your food. In the same time Alex should do some more fishing once in a while...

    FYI; bananas are thought to be bad luck on boats because back in the older days when fruit/veg was moved on boats, bananas would rot quicker and in turn make the other fruit/veg around it rot also. Hence why they’re bad luck 😁

    You need todo a trip to new Zealand , untouched koi fishing and a few lakes around that hold a bunch of different course species, the best trout fishing in the world and the salt water fishing is to die for, especially chasing yellowtail kingfish very similar to this style just much heavier gear and much bigger prize pound for pound one of the hardest fighting fish there are.

      It took a long time, 14 years or so before we could leave our jobs at Nash, and that was only possible with a sponsorship. It does take a long time, but if you love it, the passion will get you there. Learn everything you can about YT and editing, do shorts too to grow an audience more quickly, but also learn how to make long-form video making too, even if it's just on a phone at first! Be yourself, have fun, show your love of the fishing and go for it!

      You can find lots of free YT tutorials on this! In regards to editing, you want to have a good hook, and good pacing, and an understanding of how to tell a story :) You want a thumbnail that gives an insight into the content, a screen grab is good. and also one that stands out/intrigues. There's too many tips to even know where to begin in a comment haha.

    Something makes me smile about watching Carl fish for our native fish. Plus we hear the first (I think) curse word in this (series I guess?) that definitely caught me off guard and made me laugh. Actually we have some other species you should try and fish for! Flathead catfish, blue catfish, green moray eels (trust me it will more fun than the last eel trip), alligator gar, buffalo, drum, as well as grass carp!, and you can tag your brother along to catch and cook some Asian carp.

    So is the striped bass related to the sea bass we get here in the UK Carl? They look pretty similar

    • @fishwithcarl
      @fishwithcarl  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah they related :) They're in the same 'temperate bass' family but live different sides of the Atlantic
