- Stargate Atlantis Executive Producer Robert C. Cooper wanted to create the ideal action hour with "Sateda," and he intended to pull out all the stops in the process. This included getting one hundred and ten percent out of the episode's star, Jason Momoa, who himself was a little surprised at Cooper during one action scene.

Love Jason, I think my favorite scene ever was when Ronin and Teal'c Fight it out maybe even my favorite episode as well as they then teamed up
Just watched this last night (3rd time)... then this popped up in my subscription feed ... great timing
A great episode. Ronin shootin' Wraith like they were going out of fashion while Rodney and Carson argue over the gun,and John upping his bodycount to beat Teyla. The right amount of humour to counteract Ronin's serious plight.
I can't believe Jason really threw himself across a room on a hard floor twice just for a scene that might not even make the cut 😂 And losing hearing after a days work. You don't realise how much hard work goes into these until you hear these stories.

For those wondering why you should open your mouth for an explosion, it is because we have a tube called the eustachian tube. It connects to the cavity behind the eardrum to your nasal cavity. It is there to help equalize the pressure on your eardrum. By opening your mouth, you allow the pressure to equalize faster than if you relied only on your nose. Of course, you should still rely on hearing protection as opening your mouth can only do so much, and you don't always have the option.
If I understand what he said correctly, to get an old look, they used an old camera type, rather than just slapping on an effect. That's awesome.
I know Momoa can be a bit too over confident/cocky for some people...but whenever I watch him, he seems to be enjoying the Hell out what he is doing. The sort of guy you know is going to give it his best.
Anyways, Ronin was a kick ass character.

Not to take anything away from Jason, I think he is awesome. ...... BUUUUT it can't be too hard to become a better actor after a show where your role is pretty much beat people up and grunt.
Momoa can act? As most American actors they are cast into a "role" and never change their acting, just play the same role over and over again in different movies and shows. Pretty much almost everything I've seen Momoa in is that way. A lone wolf or other scruffy guy/gangster etc., seeking a revenge or throne, rinse and repeat. Let me know when they cast him into a comedy or a serious drama where he shows his magical acting skills. Most of the time he's being cast into the same role for his physical appearance. Maybe he can act, maybe he can't but so far he plays the same thing over and over.
He can definetly act, i get what you mean but i also disagree with what you said.
