So what I’m seeing makes this look a lot like Revenge of the Mummy at Universal. If it’s as themed as it seems to be, this is gonna be an amazing family-thrill coaster
The que-line and the entrance is well themed... the coaster is obviously going to be in a dark room, nothing else and it will last MAYBE 30 seconds then done. IT is LITERALLY another Runaway Mountain like at Six Flags in Arlington, TX. The castle itself, i.e. outside theming, is the only truly impressive thing... but apparently THAT was pre-existing.
@@weareeverywhere6677 not from the preview center tour that they had set up. And it’ll be much longer than 30 seconds...double that because you cycle the course twice.
@@myersbob7517 yep! There’s a set of transfer tracks and a bypass track running parallel to the station that you traverse, and it dumps you off at the first launch track
Shouldn't have too long of lines for Verbolten now with this one opening. Always good to be adding capacity to the parks! They gotta get those two flat rides replaced though.
Outside queue is all ramps. The stairs in the queue are inside right before boarding, and they've installed a wheelchair lift to help aid those who can't use the stairs!
I still wonder if they are really bringing back the character of King Ludwig, will they get the original Voice Actor or someone else to voice him? The original actor had such great one liners in Darkastle...
It was so sad to see the best themed building closed for so many years. Can't wait for this ride to open. I just hope they don't cut corners in theming like they did with Pantheon (awesome coaster that deserves awesome theming).
This layout looks skull mountain-ish at six flags great adventure. I'm glad this ride doesn't have traditional trains, the ride experience will be different with these types of trains..........dam you busch gardens for not letting you guys keep the hard hats LOL
I love Busch Gardens Williamsburg, other then SeaWorld Orlando which is 2nd best park in the Sea World chain. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is SeaWorld Parks best park period. However Busch Gardens needs more indoor rides like this and not to close them like what they did with Curse of Darcastle or the 4D Battle of Emile fire. Because of the climate of VA and if Sea World parks wants to be known as the alternate to Disney or Universal indoor attractions are a must.
I’m sorry. But it looks kind of whack and weak to me. Busch Gardens is a great park and has enough coasters. When this attraction was a dark ride, it was pretty cool. I don’t know why they shut it down. They could’ve probably gave it a refresh or an upgrade. But that’s just me. Thank you for the great video and information.
First of all: I really like the two Bush Gardens parks. (BG Tampa was my home park, when I lived in Florida) But as a European I have to say that I don’t understand some of details sometimes, cause they are just made false. You put so much money into something and then the window top 11:07 has a false form. I must had a gothic top, like the rest of the attraction. It’s not like there wouldn’t be gothic buildings in the US aswell… Or also this costumes 5:47 I like it, in general but having a real look at it… it feels a little bit wrong. I mean, you informed and have let yourself a it old German military uniforms, that’s why you have two button rows, but they are not in the right position. Why didn’t you worked it out correctly, designers? You had all this effort and in the last moment you don’t care anymore? You don’t need to do a copy, it doesn’t need to be a rebuilt or a copy of something, but stick to the rules that you were picking. I think that people will notice these things, even though they couldn’t figure out what it is, but it just gives a wrong feeling, and brakes the immersion, cause your brain will recognize it. What the brain doesn’t recognize is the completely wrong German in the Verbolten queue. Xd
@@bradleybass9280 yeah you can see in the plans that there's a switch track and when it's closed the coaster is on an internal loop, when it opens it allows the train out to the station section.
That's going to allow the next train to be unloaded and loaded. They should be able to have one train going around almost at all times. Not saying the line won't be long but it'll keep moving.
@@MrPopsfreshnmyer you don't need a switch track to unload and load a single circuit coaster. All you need is block sections and a single loop. The switch track in this case will send trains around for another circuit and let out trains that have been around twice.
Borderline kiddie ride. It’s nice to have a ride that caters for younger guests and those who can’t handle big coasters. But for me, it’s just a new credit. I’ll probably ride it once every time I visit, if/when I go back. Honestly, it would be a scarier ride with the lights on with all the head choppers.
I'm so excited for this ride
That’s awesome the park put those plans/design out there. Cool to see the planning design iterations out there. Great stuff.

Man, I really hope its themed. If it is, probably gonna be one of the best rides in the park.

Hadn't thought of it that way. Verbolten always has a shockingly long line, another family coaster right around the corner should help
Thanks for showing this can't wait until it opens
I went to BGW on April 4th and they had the ice on the castle and the sign was up!
thanks Dan!
Thanks for another great update!
Wow no track spine. Thanks for the tour.
So when does it open
What would be a realistic timetable for the opening of this ride?
I’m thinking probably early May
What is this being promoted as? Family coaster??
When is it scheduled to open? We will be there in mid June...fingers crossed
Great video. What was floating in the air?
Snoap!
@@MidwayMayhemChannel, thank you. I was confused (lol). I was thinking, "that...doesn't look like snow." I now know. Great video as always!
Do you leave the station by going through the old "fireplace"? Also.. looks like a lot of steps in queue. Accessibility?

i dont get the vehicle design for this ride, i had the same problem with Iron Gwazi Gator Train
the tracks / the ride looks a lot like UNCHARTED coaster , at PortAventura World, isn't it ?

A lot of old people in charge at Busch Gardens Williamsburg ;-)
Nothing wrong with that! 😁
Be cool if they drop the A/C temperature in the show building when you ride. Make it feel wintery.
They did when it was Darkastle.
Looks like quite a tame ride to me?
You think they'll bring this to Tampa Bay as well? I hope so, looks cool!
I'm not sure they have a building big enough for that since they don't have a dark ride.
@@jagmaida5074 yeah, more like wishful thinking. I’d love to see it!
I think with sea world Orlando getting one of these in 2024, it's unlikely BGT is getting one. BGT planning a coaster like Pantheon for 2024.
@@floridamaddogg true! Forgot about all that! Also, that Epic Universe park is shaping up awesomely!
@@floridamaddogg i hope not, it wont keep up with velocicoaster
Not quite a “Space Mountain” but should be good nonetheless. Reminds me of the Mummy at Universal.
Sounds odd the name of the Dark Oaster.
Similar to Mummy with the exception of going through it twice (backwards back through the course.) 🤨

Bro can you not be such an entitled thoosie and just enjoy a new coaster for once?
That room looks too small to house a coaster
You've not been to the mummy ride at Universal studios orlando? The room is smaller than this one
Yeah, but the Mummy has a lot of large show rooms too that are part of the ride.
I don't like when a park converts a tame dark ride into a coaster with speed and drops.
No way it's 10 per train?? The capacity is gonna get ugly with a park this size.
Yeah, and doing the layout twice is gonna kill it even more

Hagrid’s magical creatures still looks better than this.
Hagrid’s budget is like ten times greater than this. Universal has basically unlimited money; not SeaWorld
