I remember during my high school summer vacation I’d come home after hanging out with my friends. I would turn my Xbox 360 on play some halo 3. Once I felt sleepy I’d turn on season 1 episodes 1-3 of Futurama and fall asleep. Now everytime I watch those episodes I get a nice cozy feeling.

There are actually options to have them require more or less housing. That said, might make some sense that while robots like a confined space to power down in, they need room to store their stuff.
It’s honestly more likely Bender got a full-sized apartment, but he just thought that it was the closet on introduction. You can see the actual closet from the Entrance, and Bender doesn’t have the best CPU. I don’t think we see any of the other apartments in that building either.
