When I was young in the '70's and 80's, gay people were made fun of, but in a strange way were accepted more than today- at least there were not millions worried about a nothing-burger "gay agenda" as there are today. I have been through the same love affair with Joe we were together for 43 years before he passed away almost three years ago, I still have a regret that we didn't get married because of all the bullying we went through. Still miss him every day but remember all the wonderful times we had together.

Dogs are Gods gift to mankind, he is so precious and loving and has helped me through the difficult times.
I hope my 🏳️⚧️ kiddo feels the same amount of societal acceptance and comfort when he is older. Thank y'all for modeling a good relationship for *all* of us. Love wins. 💚
I hope the same for my son as you do for yours. There are still places where he cannot be out and/or his identity is not accepted. I stand with you 💜 edit: is that Little My? Cause if so, just the BEST avatar for a strong supportive parent. She's fierce! 😊
Omfg of course. Can't have a video about a gay couple without saying this bs. The trans movement is actually extremely harmful to gay youth especially so, it's even worse. Absolutely ridiculous, this video is talking about two people who are homosexual and love each other, and you have to mention people who identify as a different gender....
Beautiful to see. Didn’t come out till I was 55. There were no gay roll models when I was young and extremely confused. If I had this example of authenticity and love it would have changed my life, thank you for telling such a beautiful story and showing your vulnerability. You will reach many and help many. Very powerful.
What a heart warming story. It's easy to see how much each love's the other. My partner turned husband and I had a 30 year engagement. We married July 1, 2009 in Connecticut. November 9 2024 makes 45 years for us. I gave my heart to the right person. Sometimes you just get lucky. :):):)
Not only is it beautiful and incredible they’re still together, but even still alive. We lost SO MANY queer people to AIDS in the 80s and 90s. So glad they found and kept each other.
i hope your partner rests peacefully, and i hope the memories you made never leave you 💙 let the love wrap you up like a warm blanket. grief is love’s most enduring form.
Going on 41 years here. We had a civil union and then marriage as soon as they became legal. I think one of the most successful attributes for a life long relationship is when each person really does put the other one first. Congrats and wishing you both many more.
Please continue showing LGBT+ stories. It’s so important to show this love exists, lasts, and is worth fighting for. What a beautiful love! Thank you guys for sharing your love with the world!!!!
despite their age, they still sound very youthful. almost the same when they where “younger” lol. i aspire to have a long real relationship like that, i envy them!

To Mark and Tim, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you both for being such incredible role models for the LGBTQIA+ community. Your love and commitment to each other is truly inspiring and show us all the beautiful power of love and acceptance. Your relationship exemplifies what it means to embrace who we are and to love without boundaries or fear. You remind us that love is universal and that every one of us deserves to live authentically and proudly. Thank you for being shining examples of courage, strength, and love. Your journey together inspires so many, and we are grateful to have you in our community. With admiration and gratitude, Liam
Thanks for sharing. Congratulations on 41 years. My first partner and I were together for 31 years and he passed away 3 years before it became federal. I have since met someone else and we did get legally married.
This was so sweet! My boyfriend and I just celebrated five years together. It’s so easy to take for granted the changes that have allowed us to live more openly now than when our parents and grandparents were growing up.
Lately I've been wondering if there is even any point to humanity existing. We do such terrible things to each other. Little things like this lovely story give me some hope. Thank you.
About not thinking marriage would be legal in his lifetime… same here, I’m a 54yr old unmarried gay. I mourned the loss of the ‘idea’ of being married after i came out 28yrs ago, I never imagined it would be possible. Now, it is not something I ever think about, even though it IS possible. I love stories like this, it shows that “happily ever after” CAN happen for everyone ❤
This is 10,000% what we need more of in the media. I can recall being so devastated and lonely after going through my 1st break up right out of high school. That relationship was the very first time I got to know someone else who was gay. Loosing them was so hard - and it would take a long time for me to realize exactly why that was. Shortly after that breakup, I found a show called Vicious staring Ian McKellen and Derick Jacoby. Now the relation ship portrayed in that show is astronomically far from perfect, which is really the point (see title - lol) but what struck me was the idea that two men had been together for so long. That gave me inexplicable hope. Later after my 1st breakup from a long term relationship, I found myself lost again. It wasn’t a week later that I made friends with a gay couple in a coffee shop who had been together over 40 years. I again found hope. I sincerely wish that this video reaches the people it needs to, so that they might experience the hope I experienced from the connections I mentioned above.
Started bawling when he talked about having cancer. I hope my husband and I are still going strong and as in love as these folks are at our 40th anniversary
The love between these two men feels exactly like the love between my husband and I in a hetero relationship. It moved me to see into their eyes. Long term relationships are hard at times but the payoff can be like no other. Their journey has been different but the results feel the same. Wish you both the best. I also have to say you both have aged really well. Still very handsome men.
This is what Project 2025 wants to take away. These two men are a testament to love. Thank you, both, for helping our community put faces to lives that matter. You are the goals of many of us! ❣
Indeed. When I first saw the Twitter post that mentioned this couple, and then saw the video of their appearance in Supermarket Sweep, I couldn't help but cry. Literally. It was just a bittersweet reminder of how necessary and edifying love is for all of us, regardless of who we are or where we come from. It was bittersweet because as beautiful their love story seems to be, it also reminded me how much I long to have a love like that. Their story gives me hope that someday I may find it. ❤
Agreed, such an incredible story of 2 wonderful men. I came out in the mid 80's and I never thought I would see the day where gay marriage was legal. We have made such great progress, and now, with Sherbert Shitler back in office, hopefully we are not going to roll too far back to the dark ages. I guess it's the same story over and over again, the republicans screw it up and take our economy, and the democrats clean it up. It's happened over and over again.
@tomwebber9377 Project 2025 wasn’t signed off on by Trump and he’s unlikely to endorse it. The man hosts gay weddings in his Mar-a-Lago estate and doesn’t flaunt it. I’d say he’s more of an ally than most democrats. Saying Republicans have the power to put an end to consensual same-sex relationships is preposterous, so please spare us the hyperbole, you silly DILF-ey silver fox.
@@adamsmith9636 I have a friend who is in his mid 80s that has found a new friend that he knew in college and they are having a great time together now!
I understand completely. I am 63 and could have been Tim or Mark but I did not hang on to any of my short relationships. Single now and wishing I had a Tim or Mark. It is never too late, Adam.
What a heart warming story. My husband and I have been together 32 years, next.year marks 30 years since our commitment ceremony and on June 27th we will celebrate 17 years legally married. Like you guys, I never thought getting married would be an option in my lifetime. It has brought us closer together and given us a sense of protection as we grow old.
Sweet. Congratulations! When you were on Supermarket Sweep in 1991, I was the Director of an HIV education and testing program in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Now, I'm with my love I met here in Southeast Asia. Best wishes from Cambodia.
I loved this! When my 25 yr old son was 8 years old he came home from school and said a boy called another boy gay and made him cry. He asked what did gay mean? I told him that some people fall in love with the opposite sex and some with the same sex. So a man might love a man, or a woman another woman. I told him it’s perfectly normal and we should love and accept anyone regardless of how God made them. He said “oh ok”. The next year he came home from school and said his friend’s brother told him he was gay. I said “really? What did you say?” He said “I told him it was alright with me.” I was proud of him to convey acceptance, especially in a very conservative area that we lived in. I can only imagine how hard it was for these gentlemen to live in a time when they couldn’t tell their own families, let alone anyone they worked with. I’m glad they have each other. Blessings to all our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. God doesn’t make mistakes. 🙏🏻💗

Geez, I feel this so much. My wife (cis, bi woman) and I (enby, greysexual person) have been together for 5 years, married 1. I was there when it was legalized and I was at pride in San Francisco in 2015 when it passed. In a sea of people, looking at the stage with this huge pride flag and the crowd was first the quietest it had been, then the loudest with almost everyone in sight in tears, embracing one another. Such a beautiful moment to have the profound privilege of being a part of.

It never amazes me how many people are oblivious to the long term relationships in today's society. In the 1970's I worked for a company with numerous "out" employees and some rumoured to "be" but not confirmed. There was inconclusive gossip about two employees which left many speculating. It saddened me to read recently one of them had passed away in a tragic accident, it seems they were together long before joining the company and before there was even speculation.
Your love story reaffirms how blessed I am to be in a loving long-term relationship. Every day is not a bed of roses, and the scratches from the thorns always heal and make us stronger and more resilient as we continue to flourish as a couple. Congratulations on 41 years and counting, Mark & Tim. Cheers.

I have been through the same love affair with Joe we were together for 43 years before he passed away almost three years ago, I still have a regret that we didn't get married because of all the bullying we went through. Still miss him every day but remember all the wonderful times we had together.
So sorry for your loss. Hope you are doing ok.
My deepest condolences ronald.
My JOE passed this past January. I regret we never married.Almost made it to 45 yrs
@ I am so sorry for your loss, the depression which followed was so devastating for me my Dr’s suggested that I get a dog so I got a 6 week old puppy like we used to have….wired hair fox terrier. Dogs are Gods gift to mankind, he is so precious and loving and has helped me through the difficult times.
Stay strong brother
It took 33 years for the audience to figure it out; however, Tim and Mark are winners of the grand prize! Thanks for sharing this with us!
I’ll bet mom knew. She was just letting him be the one to tell her and at the same time, could accept and understand if he didn’t. ❤
I hope my 🏳️⚧️ kiddo feels the same amount of societal acceptance and comfort when he is older. Thank y'all for modeling a good relationship for *all* of us. Love wins. 💚
I'm a cis guy, but I want to thank you for giving your son the love he deserves ❤️
I hope the same for my son as you do for yours. There are still places where he cannot be out and/or his identity is not accepted. I stand with you 💜
edit: is that Little My? Cause if so, just the BEST avatar for a strong supportive parent. She's fierce! 😊
Omfg of course. Can't have a video about a gay couple without saying this bs. The trans movement is actually extremely harmful to gay youth especially so, it's even worse. Absolutely ridiculous, this video is talking about two people who are homosexual and love each other, and you have to mention people who identify as a different gender....
Yep.... crying my eyes out. Please universe, could you please send me this kind of love my way?
Same here 😫
Requesting the same to the Universe here!
Me too please, Universe!
Literally same
😭stop it this is so cute the way they look at each other and the guy in the blue shirt tearing up was so precious.
Beautiful to see. Didn’t come out till I was 55. There were no gay roll models when I was young and extremely confused. If I had this example of authenticity and love it would have changed my life, thank you for telling such a beautiful story and showing your vulnerability. You will reach many and help many. Very powerful.
I mean John Waters if you're f'd up!
Glad you chose to be truly yourself in this life, even if it understandably took some time. May it bring more happiness than ever ❤
Mom knows and she loves you!
Of course she knew. She approved too. That is why she would say "my other son." Just because it was unsaid doesn't mean it was unknown. Be at peace.
What a heart warming story. It's easy to see how much each love's the other. My partner turned husband and I had a 30 year engagement. We married July 1, 2009 in Connecticut. November 9 2024 makes 45 years for us. I gave my heart to the right person. Sometimes you just get lucky. :):):)
"I gave my heart to the right person." - and now we're crying again, that's beautiful 🥹
Not only is it beautiful and incredible they’re still together, but even still alive. We lost SO MANY queer people to AIDS in the 80s and 90s. So glad they found and kept each other.
Lost my soul mate this past January one month shy of 45 years. Make everyday, and I MEAN EVERYDAY COUNT.! Don’t let things go unsaid ever!
i hope your partner rests peacefully, and i hope the memories you made never leave you 💙 let the love wrap you up like a warm blanket. grief is love’s most enduring form.
I’m so very sorry for your loss 😢. Sending you love.
0:12 and they were roommates
Oh my god they were roommates 😱
Literally the only words I thought as I clicked on this video😂😂😂
😂
I wonder how the people who made that vine are doing nowadays 😂❤
I hope Mark knows that his mother probably knew all along and was just happy to see her son happy. 💕
Going on 41 years here. We had a civil union and then marriage as soon as they became legal. I think one of the most successful attributes for a life long relationship is when each person really does put the other one first. Congrats and wishing you both many more.
congrats to you as well!!
Straight, happily married, 43 year old woman. You two are 100% couple goals. You both are so sweet, and it is obvious that you love each other so much.
However, these video needs to come with a tissue warning. I'm here crying my eyes out.
I wasn't even halfway through the video when the waterworks kicked in. May this kind of love find its way to us in our lifetime 🥺💖
To Mark and Tim,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you both for being such incredible role models for the LGBTQIA+ community.
With admiration and gratitude,
Liam
🥹 And thank you for expressing such lovely and considerate sentiments to this fine couple, Liam.
You have a kind heart as well.
Best to you 🤗
I love seeing 2SLGBT elders. There's so few of them due to AIDS/HIV and I am so proud to see Tim and Mark so happy.
getting married the same exact day as it was legalized made me tear up omg
Thanks for sharing. Congratulations on 41 years. My first partner and I were together for 31 years and he passed away 3 years before it became federal. I have since met someone else and we did get legally married.
This was so sweet! My boyfriend and I just celebrated five years together. It’s so easy to take for granted the changes that have allowed us to live more openly now than when our parents and grandparents were growing up.
wow congratulations!!
Going on 16 years together with my husband. Congratulations fellas!
Congratulations to you both! 🥳
WOW!!! Soul mates for sure! Beautiful couple.
right? this is what true love looks like 💞
Lately I've been wondering if there is even any point to humanity existing. We do such terrible things to each other. Little things like this lovely story give me some hope. Thank you.
If only more relationships could be this healthy. The world would be a much better place. These men are excellent role models.
I’m not ugly crying, you’re ugly crying. This is what we need right now, show and give Love.
The one in the blue shirt looks like John Mahoney from Frasier! Congratulations guys!
I am thinking exactly the same thing
And Tim (the one in purple) looks a bit like Tim Robbins
I’m so sorry you ever had to hide. I’m sorry some of us still have to hide.
I actually saw this show once and it was the day these two handsome men were on … in my head I was geez they are handsome. I’m so happy for them.
😂😂😂😂😂 cry harder
@@RB2013-jj7kq - Don't cry for me Trumpolina.
@tomwebber9377
Project 2025 wasn’t signed off on by Trump and he’s unlikely to endorse it.
I love stories like this and envy stories like this . At 61 and still single I have always wished I found my soul mate but fear its to late now .
Don't give up.
@@adamsmith9636 Never too late. When you least expect it, MR. RIGHT will show up. Never give up!
it's never too late!!
You guys actually got married on the exact day and year I was born 😭❤️ (I'm a youngin I know)
I'm your age, and dudes you still have it. My first was 6'4". This is so sweet, God Bless you guys.
My husband and I have been together 22 years. It’s a journey! Thanks for sharing your story. It’s an inspiration to us all.
congrats to you two as well!!
I am NOT crying. I am NOT crying!!!
oh we're definitely crying 😭
Can't thank you enough for sharing this profound love story.
Sweet. Congratulations! When you were on Supermarket Sweep in 1991, I was the Director of an HIV education and testing program in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Now, I'm with my love I met here in Southeast Asia. Best wishes from Cambodia.
It makes me SO happy to see older gay couples. It gives me hope. Thank you both!
They are so cute!!! I couldn't stop crying during this video. It was so pure and loving. I wish everyone had someone like this.
What a beautiful couple and relationship!
Wow they are both pretty foxy too. I hope my husband and I look that good at their ages.
This is so nice to see i can relate to this story for many years ive been hiding it as well ive just turned 38 and ive finally accepted that im gay seeing stories like this gives me hope that it does get better eventually
❤❤❤
Who's crying?? I'm not crying!! Ok, I was crying a little bit!! The vows were sweet and heart felt. Yeah, I'm crying again!! Good luck guys and to another 41 years!! ❤❤
That's a good marriage. SO pleased for you both. With such a deep love for each other, you can cope with anything. This is powerful for many younger gay couples today.
As a queer person who waited 27 years to come out, I look to my elders for guidance. Thank you for being here. My partner and I have the type of love y’all have. It’s beautiful to witness.
I'm 44 and never had a love like this. It's so beautiful.
Let me just say how important your display of love is. So many kids and adults will be able to look to you for the true meaning of a relationship. I am so happy to have seen this video and wish you were next-door to be my new best friends
i do not have any words, theres so much love between these two im ugly crying, its absolutely inspiring and im glad we’ve come as far as to make room for wonderful couples like these ❤
(merry christmas! posting this on christmas morning)
How anyone can take any issue with this is beyond me. Congratulations on your wonderfully long relationship.
Well I'm crying like a baby! If we could all be so lucky to know a love like these sweethearts have, the world would be a much happier place
i am transgender in a very small, generally conservative town. one day i hope to love someone as much as these two love each other without shame, without worry that we'll be forced apart by a country who wish to see us dead
I hope you find someone who accepts all that you are.
Sending you love ❤
Sending you acceptance and comfort from the mom of a trans-masc teen. Hugs to you! ❤
@bath_foam4576
Come to the PNW. You are welcome here.
And they're still both so handsome!
This was so beautiful and inspiring!!!! I want to get married to my partner right now!!! We've been together for 6 years and I can't wait to live the rest of my life with him!!
Mark's eyes are so loving and kind. You can see how gentle of a soul he is.
Are these the two most handsome men alive? What?!
I’m so happy these guys just get to be themselves!
Thank you for sharing - next month will be 34 years for us and wouldn't trade it in for anything. Going through life's rough stuff but he's my rock
Lovely. My parents were married over 40 years and together endured cancer and many other challenges. I know what it takes. More power to you!
SO sweet to see this and how they have helped each other through many of life’s battles. Here’s wishing them MANY happy HEALTHY years filled with love together. Thank you for sharing part of your love story with us. All the best to you. 💗
Cheers.
This is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Really gives me hope for my future.
THIS is what we need to see. Shows how far the world has come. Hopefully things only get better 🥺
I’m crying your story is beautiful! Wishing you many more years together to share your love !
This is why we continue to fight the good fight. Slow progress is still progress and when you look back you can recognize how far things have come.
Just beautiful. Thank you. 💕
Thanks for sharing this with us. Beautiful couple. Beautiful love story.
I do believe that sharing a love like this and being together for such a long time it is something to be proud of . Not many in this world can achieve such a blessing gift of the universe.
I remember reading that post! I'm so glad they are still together and are happy!! This is so sweet. Not me getting weepy over internet strangers' love story, hahaha
who doesn't love a good love story.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and your love...a union between two people, no matter their sexuality is ALWAYS something to be cherished and admired. It's a shame everyone can't see and appreciate that. To many more years together.
About to celebrate my eighteenth anniversary with my husband. Best wishes to you both.
Happy Anniversary! ❤️
You two ARE the role models for others now. I wish you'd had your own, but you have given such a gift to the world by being true and loving each other. ❤
