    So maybe I missed it. so is the axis into or out of the page? i mean is the zero on the optical power cross looking at the patients face, or would it be the eyes looking out?

      Spherical equivalent= +1.5D, because +3 is spherical power & -3 is cyl power, As sph. equi= sph power + (cyl power÷2) ⇒ 3 + (-3/2) = *+1.5D* . Note: DS= diopter sphere, DC= diopter cylinder.
