Hi Team, thanks for the update.. do you have any plan to make the message section dynamic where we can pass values from variables under dynamic email subscription feature.
I have questions regarding the dynamic per recipient subscription. 1. Is this a feature that a tenent admin needs to activate to try it out? I tried it and I don't get the option to create a dynamic subscription. 2. By "Generally Available" I was under the impression, that this would work under a pro licence without premium capacity. The documentation states the following prerequisite: - Paginated Report: "A paginated report with parameters to share that is saved in a workspace backed by a capacity (Power BI Premium capacity, Microsoft Fabric trial, or Microsoft Fabric capacity)." - Report: "A report to share that is saved in a workspace backed by a capacity (Power BI Premium capacity, Microsoft Fabric trial, or Microsoft Fabric capacity)." If this is the current state I would favor to have a indication in the future about the required licence of a feature. All in all great updates. Cheers
Hi there, thanks for your patience on this, there could be several reasons why you don't see this option for example the report is not backed by a premium capacity or the admin disallowing the capability. Regarding generally availability, this does not mean we will roll out capabilities to other licenses. We appreciate the feedback to mention no license changes, to make it clear going forward. Thanks for reaching out.
When you add a new button in the format pane, it should be great to add the fx button. We need more fx buttons! I don't really like the ability to change measures in the Power BI service because you then have 2 different versions of the same pbix Anyway, this is a great update as always!
Hello, I agree with you, and that's our goal too. The plan is to first understand how to manage conditional formatting in the format pane. If the goal is to support conditional formatting for all our controls, we certainly don't want to overcrowd the pane with a ton of fx buttons. Then, we need to redesign the conditional formatting dialog to support more functionalities such as defining font family, font size, pixels, hide/unhide, and more. We have created a roadmap for this work, and our vision is to invest in it once it reaches prioritization, as there are other features that the team is focusing on right now. I will keep the community informed about this and more.
How can I adjust the ppt template attached to a dynamic subscription email in regards to e.g. changing cover slide and adding additional slides e.g. blank slides for comments on the data.
Thanks for you comment. That will have to be part of the report definition. The dynamic subscription email is not for dynamic formatting per recipient but more for custom/ personalized content for users.
@@NirupamaSrinivasan-s5d thanks for the feedback! Regarding Recipient Subscription: Do all the recipients need to have the Power BI pro licenses? Since we do not have premium and we are using external service portal for sharing published reports. I am not sure if I could make use of this option and send pdf or ppt to the users. As a Power BI developer I do have admin access to the Fabric workspace and semantic model as well.
I wish the Subscription features gave the option to embed the visuals as Live Data in the PowerPoint attachment. It would be great to see a "Subscribe to Visual" option. And it would be awesome to have the option to attach the results as an Excel and/or CSV file as well, as part of the subscription. But one of my biggest issues, preventing us from leveraging subscriptions today, is the fact that only the visible pages in a report can be exported. Unfortunately, we have gone the route of hiding all but one page in each of our reports, and using the page navigator feature for managing the page navigation within a report. This helps keep the navigation a bit cleaner/condensed in our App, which has many reports with many pages. This means that we only have the option to export a single page from each report, making subscriptions virtually useless :(
While this seems like a step in the right direction for "dynamic per recipient subscriptions", it is still missing a killer feature. Dynamic filtering on Email Recipient is also a necessity. That way, only one subscription is needed for a list of customers. For instance, if I must send all my customers a weekly report of THEIR data, I would need to dynamically filter both the data and recipient list. That way, everyone only gets data that relevant to them. With the current design, I believe I would need to create an individual subscription for each customer which is impractical for most organisations.
When they celebrate the roll out of things that should have been done years ago. What about useful roll outs like being able to click on a measure and see where it´s being used? Or the ability to lock a query when sharing the semantic model with others? Such a frustrating tool.
I'd love to see a "where used" option on measures in a model, including the ability to see the lineage across all reports using that use the model as its source.

Been dabbling with Power Bi for a little over a year now. I’m a fan, and so is my boss! One request I have: can we get a feature to adjust the background of a visual in focus mode? I’ve been trending towards darker or bold colors for my report backgrounds and then using white or light colored fonts on the visual. When a user selects to view a visual in focus mode, the same formatting for the visual carries over onto a white background. This means white text or very light colored text is difficult or impossible to read. I could see where having the ability to have a custom background for focus mode may be costly in terms of report rendering efficiency, but I feel like just having the ability to change the background to one solid color could go a long way. I think the focus view is a great feature, but it’s unfortunately useless, unless I design my entire report to facilitate a white background, a limiting option in my opinion.

Great video, thank you! Question: can we prevent users from editing our dax in the workspace? This can be dangerous if they don't understand the relationships between the tables, or how the data from the model works in conjunction with the paginated reports or downstream flows.
Great question! Yes, currently DAX query view in web is only for model authors, so you have to have write permission (meaning you can edit any of the DAX, relationships, remove or add tables, etc even without using DAX query view in web) to use it. You can also turn off the ability to edit models in the workspace in the workspace settings/Power BI if you prefer not to allow this functionality. Even without this functionality, write permission users can always make changes to the semantic model using other methods. In a future release, we will have DAX query view in web for just Read/Build users, and that will not allow any edits to the semantic model itself, so users will be limited to just writing DAX queries without any access to edit the model. And for right now to allow users to write DAX queries without access to the write to the model, they can live connect to any published semantic model in Power BI Desktop and use DAX query view there.
Thank you pbi team for your hard work. I want ask, how is progress coming on conditional formatting for visual level calculations? I'm doing 3x the calculations as is needed compared to if visual calculations supported conditional formatting.
I’m alarmed by the number of things still missing in Power BI. And it’s even more alarming when I search to see if it’s possible to do extremely basic things and find answers like ‘Why would you want that?’ I can’t accept not being able to condition the color of chart lines, use font sizes smaller than 8, choose the exact font size I want, deal with charts randomly shifting or changing size by 1 or 2 pixels for no apparent reason, STILL NOT HAVING A DARK MODE!, and many other things that should be extremely simple but require 10 steps.
