Kind of scares me a bit that Wiley's commitment seemed like an afterthought. Someone so connected, that tells me Wiley might not be committing to UGA and it may be FSU or LSU. I hope I'm wrong, and it was just an oversight, but that did bother me a little bit.

No, because he's an in-state kid, and everyone thought he was going to UGA in the first place. Everyone asked because his commit to USC came out of left field, just like with Justus Terry's. It's also no coincidence that both of them decommitted and are both heavily leaning staying closer to home. It was just going across country, and having that visit high. It wasn't anything personal with USC. It may seem personal to their fanbase, but that's just because they want someone to blame. It was seemingly inevitable from the moment it happened. It was just these very specific circumstances, and GA defensive kids have a history of committing early to USC and then ending up at UGA. It just is what it is.
it’s a good question. Look at what GA has produced under Kirby. They also have won 2 of the 3 last national championships. So u telling me a kid commits to a school over 2200 miles away who don’t even play defense u wouldn’t question it???
It’s funny how Hilton commits to FSU as a five star. Then flips to Bama goes up in rankings…. Then comes back to FSU…. Now he’s a 4 star. With the UGA commitment now this kid will remain No.1. Good thing these stars don’t mean a damn thing.
The coaches pay 0 attention to the stars. At least the good ones dont. The recruiting services want these guys at camps and if they do what they want they punish the players. I know someone personally who was punished in the rankings by on3 because he didnt go to one of their camps.
Generally, once they get an offer from a top program (UGA, Bama, FSU, Ohio State, etc) recruiting services start looking at them a lot closer. For better or worse. Too many high schoolers, not enough scouts.
