You then have to limit guilds to only going to war with those of the same size. you will either have huge guilds harassing smaller guilds and never fighting each other or eventually it will be 2-5 guilds who will absorb the smaller and end up not fighting at all cause bully guilds never fight other bully guilds.

Based on experience, people who support this kind of behavior are most likely HC PVP players. However, we are in alpha state so the system and it's processes are not limiting this kind of behaviour towards everyone, but ofc there will be. It shouldn't be us players that has to kinda limit ourselves of playing the game or using its mechanics (glitches and bugs also) of anykind, but the process should tell us how the game is intended to play. it's good that this kind of behaviour happened already. It shows developers also how people would exploit the system and it's processes as is, which might give more ideas to develop them more towards the vision that Intrepid have about the game and gameplay.

I believe Steven is trying to build a higher standard for Community. Most players and games with community have a very minimalist understanding of what Community is. I hope Steven is successful with building a game with a high standard for Community. This industry as a whole and players base really need the new experience of a high quality community to understand what they are missing. Unfortunately the player base at large have little experience ( or none) with a high quality/standard community. Hopefully Steven and Intrepid will push the industry to a higher level for Community.
I don't have a problem calling this a game. They want us to "play their game" and report problems and give feedback. We have the PTR to merely test systems before releasing to the game. This is fun game that many of us are putting a lot of time into not just because we want to help test, but because it IS a fun game. Steven needs to remember that if he wants this style of a test environment, and I think he knows it. There need to be considerations about the player experience. If not, the amount of testers will go down instead of up. Getting guilds and basic chat functions going will be hugely beneficial in that regard. I think Intrepid is killing it and I hope they keep delivering.
The dude from Polar talked about the guild wars but what about the exploit to level? Do they know characters were banned because of guild wars or could it be the obvious leveling exploit?
basically they made a deal with Polar for the switch of server to try and regain mayor of winstead at phase 2 launch when they announced the servers would merge. When it played out, Polar screwed us over and didn't live up to their end of the deal. Allegations of cheating got bandied around, and due to the level 25 zerging of caravans during phase 1, Verdant had a dirty name. So instead of showing leadership and strengthening the respectability of the guild, they went the route of disbanding and joining an alliance of others pissed off at polar and created barcode, which then went on to get just as bad a wrap. They disbanded verdant, so I ground out the minimal requirements to get a guild scroll, and now I am GM for Verdant :)
@@Nyce-Gaming haha everyone loves the guild drama, i mean that's pretty much the only content in phase 2... I probably have more but I've left the old discord before it was shut down, though might still have some dm's or screen caps of the transition to barcode around.
I wouldn't trust Verdant/Barcodes on this either. Day 7 of the Server, Verdant & POLAR declared 3 back to back wars against their own guilds in an extremely sus manner.
Its to bad the ban wave caught a ton of bystanders. If you accepted money in trade from a person who exploited, your character was deleted. So a ton of mount sellers had their accounts deleted plus a bunch of random people who've barely played this phase. Steven is apparently looking into it as the tools don't seem to be working very well. *EDIT* Steven personally fixed it. He jumped in head first and got it all fixed. Absolutely amazing stuff from Intrepid.
@@Nyce-Gaming Holy crap I am not kidding. Steven dove into this head first and personally fixed it withthe CS team. They audited the accounts and found the gold came from others and everyone got their accounts back. I've never seen this type of effort from a dev before. Consider me a true believer in this project now, its just unbelievable he fixed it all.
I played with steven during archeage at the time he got the idea for ashes, you would b amazed how much he exploited RMT this is my opinion of the events i witnessed
So, some known scum bags exploited a system in order to get an advantage, got caught, were properly punished, and are complaining because they were held accountable for their actions. Just one more reason this is going to be a phenomenal MMO. Cant wait for full release!
Thanks for this! Was nice to see Steven address the exploiting issue directly. To those of you who complain that we want people to find exploits - yes, we do, but it's very clear to anyone with half a brain that clear abuse of systems for personal gain does nothing to help the development process. It in fact hurts it, because any would be economic data is trashed when people abuse such things. Nevermind the general negative feel of the testing environment turning off solid testers, when this behavior goes unaddressed. Grow up, and use some common sense.
I wonder if that employee was disciplined or had an embarrassing meeting after this? Regardless of polar, they obviously got it wrong. Doesn't this create the precedent that no one is to be believed unless it comes from Steven himself? Although I guess at least that would make a very clear rule that would be easy to follow. If he didn't say it, don't do it!
I like how POLAR tries to twist the story? They reached out to a bunch of CMs, GMs, and Devs? I'm curious what everyone had to say. 7 No's and 1 yes means yes to POLAR?
So let me get this straight…. They used an in game mechanic THAT WAS PUT IN GAME BY DEVs! But then got in trouble for using that mechanic? Right on… lol…. Right on….
Lol, i was lvl 10, only memebr of my guild online. Polar On flying mount, dropped on my head started guild war and killed me. He was lvl 25. That dude was lying. that night Polar started about 15 wars
TMugsy has bee n a cancer in MMOs for years. This isnt his first time. Permaban is the only cure for him. Lost a lot of respect for you giving him a platform to spread his BS.
So you lost respect for me for letting him tell his side of things after showing evidence that would further affect his reputation constantly throughout this video instead of doing a blind biased rant to slander him? You know what?.. im fine with that. Appreciate the feedback :)
Its pretty far off from a standard interview with Intrepid with me including the opposing side of a player involved in the situation and this wasnt a planned conversation, however I do hope they spread the word
It’s the type of player that is drawn to this type of game. They need every single edge to win because they aren’t good enough to win fairly thus not as fun if not winning. The toxicity will be rampant forever as long as there is heavy pvp action. The game itself will breed the behavior. And for that reason I’m very unlikely to last long. 1. I’m not good enough to compete, 2. I don’t like the antics of the kids teabagging every time they get a kill ect.
Well, I wish they would look more objectively at what is going on. This is a test, at a very early stage of development. Several times now the players are very disrespectful of other player's right to enjoy the game. However Stephen is creating a game which is brutally competitive, with extreme penalties for losing and huge rewards for winning. It is easy to see how a single node defeat, would make a player rage-quit the game. I think as an intellectual game developer, you have to pause and consider 3 things: 1. With so much on the line competitively game-wise is it surprising that players are going to be seeking any means necessary to win? 2. In such a competitive environment is there any incentive to care about their fellow player? 3. Is the game going to last very long with such an intense competitive environment, with such clear winners and losers? We are testing, and it seems to me that this exploiting is a "Test Result" that has to be considered. I get that the actual exploits can be dealt with, but not the attitude/mindset the game is inspiring in players. Is this really the right vibe for a game that has such a large game-size. This is going to be a "Community" of 30K-100K players that need to co-exist for entertainment, in a "Dog-eat-Dog" environment. Those two visions seem mutually incompatible to me. The game dynamics seem more suited to a small sided game, that is over in a few hours, where you can easily restart another game from scratch, than a vast MMO that lasts years. At the very least, they have to try and make sure that losing in the game isn't a negative experience, because unlike the test, when the game launches, people will not pay to play a negative experience.
Polar war decing run around in group of 10-20 people find groups and then war dec the healer's or tank guild in that part mid pull kill them and run off :P happened to 2 of my groups in a day the second time they rocked up and i was like yep i know exactly whats about to happen and played exactly that way lol
16:45 "Other players cheat and because I'm competitive I cheated too as to not fall behind" is the most annoying excuse people who have cheated can give. If you actually have competitive integrity you're going to value wins by playing legit far more than ones gained from cheating. It doesn't matter if other people are doing it.
This was very poor judgment on the part of Polar leadership. For those not playing or plugged into the game, most guilds stopped doing wars altogether.
Not really a fan of guild wars nor the other arbitrary systems that basically add "rails" into the sandbox. I prefer people just create their own emergent gameplay for such things.
Idk.. if what Polar said is accurate, they shouldn't get deleted. Saying "listen to the people complaining and make a wise choice" if we listened to complaints, no one would look at this game... So saying "hey should have known based on common feedback" is a bit BS. But also very glad Steven has a strong stance for such things. Hopefully this is a handslap situation and now everyone knows where things stand so we can all move forward.
Euh... Isn't the point of alpha and beta tests that people find shit that doesn't work as intended? So.. exploits? People paid 100 bucks to be a tester, and they're being punished for finding a bug?
@@TheShatarEUisMyHome I think this question was answered in this very video. I asked it because I’ve seen your question at least 50x on previous videos
So... either polar has not shared the proper screenshot, or they did not share step by step what their plans were. The only screenshot we've seen is at best a light inquiry
Obviously he and his guild took advantage. he wants dos & donts written down on a note for himself and his guild. you knew it was wrong but still did it anyway. regardless of what dev said. Bans/ de-lvls were appropriate. learn from your poor judgement or don't and continue to be the hated / disliked guild / players going forward.
They do need a longer timer between wars including a countdown timer for starting. And also have rewards based on lvl vs lvl. Basically a guild lvl to compared the two for level of rewards or else you will always have those that will create a fake guild to always win against and just cheese their way instead of good guild vs guild war
@@Nyce-GamingI posted that before I watched the whole video and it’s good to see that he admitted to war decking the whole server however I feel the guy is very disingenuous when saying we asked dev and they said it was fine and “we thought that infinite wars was intended” I don’t believe that for a second they saw a chance to get even further ahead of everyone else and took it and to claim otherwise is ridiculous. On top of that during the war with the guild I’m in which was the first to be declared on they were farming us on ember springs which forced ppl to log off for the day and after we told them the surrender button was bugged it didn’t seem to matter to them that hey people might not even be able to surrender if we war dec them but hey let’s do it anyways. So I’m guessing like us many others were forced to take part in a couple hours of war with opponents much stronger and willing to keeping killing until people logged off
We don't exploit says the guild leader of the guild the exploited instantly. Also community managers aren't devs. The fact Tmugs doesn't know this shows how incompetent he assumes everyone is.

From someone watching in on vyra, Polar get alot of unnecessary hate for this, intrepid should have removed the entire system before P2 launched if it was not intended game mechanics, especially as it was reported hundreds of times prior
So much for the character deletes...I know 4 people who admitted to exploiting an issue in crafting to make lots of legendary gear and selling some of it...and all 4 today got their characters undeleted. In other words Steve is doing nothing.

Use stevens name in ur title man! get them views! people need to see these nice impromptu interviews!
@@TheHammerDedicated I think I’ll take this advice and do it later 🤔
@@Nyce-GamingYou should listen to him. No shame in improving the visibility of something you worked hard on! 💪🏼 Great video!
Banning people who payed 110$ in a game that will never release is top tier content 😂
I'm currently the guild master for verdant. don't believe those guys.
basically they made a deal with Polar for the switch of server to try and regain mayor of winstead at phase 2 launch when they announced the servers would merge.
@@wiglord ooooh woooow. The plot thickens 🍿 this keeps getting better
@@Nyce-Gaming haha everyone loves the guild drama, i mean that's pretty much the only content in phase 2... I probably have more but I've left the old discord before it was shut down, though might still have some dm's or screen caps of the transition to barcode around.
@@wiglord shut up UberWiggett (Dr. Disinfect), what in the fuck kinda bs are you making up here LMAO
Im glad steven acknowledged false positives and hope they continue to help assist wrongfully punished characters
I played with steven during archeage at the time he got the idea for ashes, you would b amazed how much he exploited RMT
this is my opinion of the events i witnessed
@@SodiumChlorideCB I wouldn’t be surprised considering he talks about it a lot including in this interview
@@Nyce-Gaming if i recall he did 20k USD in the first week of Kyrios server
So, some known scum bags exploited a system in order to get an advantage, got caught, were properly punished, and are complaining because they were held accountable for their actions.
Just one more reason this is going to be a phenomenal MMO. Cant wait for full release!
I’d like to keep my comments on polar respectful so Ill just not say anything 🤣
umm umm umm somebody was lying somebody was warring well after Dec lol. Great interview GG
@@Jaboz_ well said and thank you

I wonder if that employee was disciplined or had an embarrassing meeting after this?
Regardless of polar, they obviously got it wrong.
Doesn't this create the precedent that no one is to be believed unless it comes from Steven himself?
Although I guess at least that would make a very clear rule that would be easy to follow. If he didn't say it, don't do it!
I like how POLAR tries to twist the story? They reached out to a bunch of CMs, GMs, and Devs? I'm curious what everyone had to say. 7 No's and 1 yes means yes to POLAR?
*People know exactly what they're doing.*
*SoL's Eye sees all.*
Appreciate the feedback :)
where was the notification on their reddit and discord for the interview with steven 🤔
Its pretty far off from a standard interview with Intrepid with me including the opposing side of a player involved in the situation and this wasnt a planned conversation, however I do hope they spread the word
Kudos to engaging in a search for the truth on such a controversial topic.
Great interviews!
appreciated!!!! :)
@@Nyce-Gaming i also found alleged reported spawns for physical wands… 😂
@ 😆 I finally found one on a trader yesterday and hoping there’s a stronger one lol
Then the hardcore that ARE good enough to compete also ruin it for the less skilled and those players are drawn to these type as well.
I think as an intellectual game developer, you have to pause and consider 3 things:
What's even more annoying is when people gatekeep over the most arbitrary lines and then act like they're better than you for it.

Good interview ty . As for buddy saying other games do 5-10 day suspensions well that's probably why they don't last . Keep up the good work Steven 🎉
Idk.. if what Polar said is accurate, they shouldn't get deleted.
@rybromide2219 yup. I feel precedent was set with this and people was made
Euh... Isn't the point of alpha and beta tests that people find shit that doesn't work as intended? So.. exploits?
People paid 100 bucks to be a tester, and they're being punished for finding a bug?

I didn’t interpret the guy talking to a dev as a gotcha moment, nor did I interpret the dev saying anyone should spam wars. This isn’t rocket science
Crazy how polar claimed they only did 4 war decs lol they spammed them on almost every guild that day
@@mikeyveins601 including mine while I was level 13 😫
So I’m guessing like us many others were forced to take part in a couple hours of war with opponents much stronger and willing to keeping killing until people logged off
I dont know where you got that take, he did say they warred everyone they could find for 24 hours. Must be a math problem
We don't exploit says the guild leader of the guild the exploited instantly.
Also community managers aren't devs.
The fact Tmugs doesn't know this shows how incompetent he assumes everyone is.
