  • The skin consists of three main layers. The epidermis forms the outermost layer, providing protection against environmental factors. Beneath the epidermis lies the dermis which plays a crucial role in regulating temperature and supplying nutrients to the epidermis. The deepest layer, the hypodermis, comprises fat and connective tissue, serving as insulation and cushioning.
