When a weapon has multiple damage types and the enemy is weak to only one of them, the overall damage number will not be yellow. Also lox are resistant to blunt and frost, so the Frostner really sucks against them, but it works well against the other plains mobs.
@@InfiniteCriticism I guess you mean the "Fang Spear". Since lox are resistant to blunt, slash and frost, but not to pierce, the spear would work fine. Assuming you have all weapon skills on the same level, it is one of the two best one handed weapons, to fight Lox. It would do its full 70 pierce base dmg. The other is Porcupine, doing 0.5*50 blunt + 45 pierce = 70 total base dmg. Both get 6 more pierce base dmg per upgrade. The only weapon dealing more dmg vs lox, is the two handed black metal atgeir, which would prevent you from using a shield. Since the game determines the dmg you deal from the weapons base damage and your skill, stick with what you are good at. If your club skill is higher, porcupine will deal more dmg. If your spear skill is higher, the Fang Spear will deal more dmg. If both are the same, you will do the same dmg with both weapons, since they have the same base dmg against lox. Long term, since Porcupine is better than Fang Spear in any other situation, and there is currently no better spear than Fang Spear, it is better going for clubs.

the wolves should gain exp for every battle and when they win enough fights they should gain a star. Gain enough stars they should evolve into a higher class of wolf. Maybe make wolf armor a thing that would honestly be beast.
I like the general direction of this idea: wolf progression or armor. It would keep them relevant as the biomes grow more deadly. As it stands, they seem to only be effective in huge packs or as bodyguards for easier content.

Devs also slightly decreased the rate at which your wolves breed, on one of the recent patches. ...it's only really noticeable if you've breed wolves prior to the patch, but it does take a bit more time than before. Try to contain your "breeding" wolves into a 1 meter or a 1 by 2 meter area, with posts not walls, so that the pups can squeeze through.
Dont give up work to get your own computer it does not need to be exensive buy a used one you can alway uppgrade it anyhow valheim does not demand much
go through the hassle of a night wolf, (with luck a daytime one Star) normal wolfs are glascannon´s they are not really worth the effort, get a 1/2 Star in the night, just dig a deep enough hole and jump in (maybe you need to use the harpoon to drag the wolf in the pit), they can´t get out or break it. night wolfs only tame at night time (can´t skip the night either), they also breed only at night time, also you need a already tamed wolf in there beside the night wolf (for breeding), my advice is to built a little secure house beside the pit, when you got both wolfs in there throw in a stack of meat und cover the hole with 2x2 Floor then get in your mini house and just stay afk in there since it´s gonna take a while for them to tame and breed, also no Fire, so no enemy´s attack you house while afk. Once you got a Baby Wolf with a Star you are golden, that pup won´t despawn or shit like that.
I read that ATM the star wolves you breed retain the DMG bonus but not the hp bonus? Is that true? I prefer that my plain wolves die occasionally so that I get skins and fangs.

Wolfs can be used as base defense. If you tell them to stay, they will patrol a radius that stay area. And attack anything that comes in it’s radius. So make a line of wolfs outside your walls.

having lox near your dwelling will actually attack enemy that are aggressive around near home. it certainly worked for me where the plains meet the swamp. just don't clear too much grass close by, they prefer grassy area.
for me, the easy stone collection is tearing down those towers in the black forest and mountains. or pickaxing out the bottom of the spires in the plains and letting the whole thing fall.
Wolf name: Tōbì with an "I". With an accent over the "I" and a little line over the "O" so ya know it's a long vowel sound and not a short one. And sometime you might like to dot the "I" with a little smiley face or a heart or somethin. Something to brighten up the reader's day.
I don't know if you'll read this Kage, but I wanted to let you know that I find your videos very relaxing. A lot of other youtubers will do a "let's play" , using what I consider to be an excuse of, "this is my first time because I wanted to share my initial experience/reaction with you", and then I get extremely frustrated watching them spend half an episode trying to figure something out (it's even worse when the issue is simply that they aren't reading what is on the screen or miss seeing a button). I don't expect anyone to be perfect, and I know when you're distracted by having to talk when playing a game, it's very easy to miss something. You handle this very well, IMO, in that you don't every spend more than maybe 3-5 minutes trying to figure something out before either cutting away and coming back after you've solved it, or, to just decide to come back to the issue later and go and do something else (which is completely reasonable and acceptable). After watching your videos, I never think to myself, "well that was a waste of time; nothing was accomplished". I do apologize if this message came off as self-entitled or me just complaining about free content. There are quite a few youtubers that I usually really enjoy, but are guilty of making those frustrating videos on occasion, and my point was that you never do. So again, thanks for making videos that are always very relaxing for me to watch (even if fear of virtual death may make them very stressful for you. 😋).

He had to cubs, Hat ( Hate) and Skoll (betrayal), Hat hunts the moon and Skoll hunts the sun so I guess that’s why they move around the Earth? 😉
you can't freeze a lox since their fur protects them from frost, same for wolves. Stun works great on wolves, never tested on loxes. You can't also freeze golems and drakes but fire works well against drakes while pickaxe is awesome agaisnt golems. You can't set on fire Surtlings but touching water damages them. You can't poison blobs but freeze surely kicks the sheet out of them. There's logic in the monsters in this game. Just think what they are and you can meta-figure out what their weakness could be.
Lox should breed. Also I love this game and think you should name them after Norse gods, Loki, Thor, One could be Odin, Frey, Freya, balder, heimdall, vidar, hel
btw if you manage to get a 2 star wolf and let him with the 0 star wolf occasionally oyu can have a 2 star cub and then you can kill the 0 star wolves. From there you'll get only 2 star wolves which are quite good as pet.

Probably you were trying to sleep while wolves were agro. Also, if you sneak, you can completely sneak up to them to check their tameness without agro them again.
You get 2 star at night, you have to breed a 2 with a no star or higher to get a 2 star that won't despawn on you. Keep the one's you breed and the one you caught will despawn right after you release it.

You can use a cheat to get rid of the fog. If you make a moat two wide then it wouldn't matter if the wolves broke the wall because they wouldn't be able to get out of the moat. Then you could just put some stone walls on the outer side of the moat.

yo yo... things do not despawn when your away for things to just walk through your walls - the part of the map "hibernates" thus the wolves and such do not move when your away. if this were to happen like you say you would always find random mobs inside your bases..

When you breed enough you can have as many follow you as you want and I've had 6 take down a troll but I lost 4 at the same time. I take a few with me when I'm getting copper or anything in the black forest.. will need 2 stars anywhere else I would imagine.... I bet the leeches in swamp would get them quick
I thinks it's too late, but you can have basically endless amount of Wolves following you. You can even finish last boss with big enough pack, just saying.
I agree with you about this game. It is definitely pretty damn addictive. I’m pretty well hooked on it too. I actually beat you on the wolf taming and breeding. I tamed 4 and have been letting them breed. I’ve taken them out with me a few times and just LMAO watching them kill stuff for me. Keep the vids coming bro I’ve certainly been enjoying them.
You should call one fenriz. Think fenriz was one of loki children and is a huge wolf and the god of death or decay. During ragnar rok fenriz eats the sun. No expert but a norse name would suit i think.
Don't underestimate your wolfs lol get a couple in a pack and they can take anything. Trolls will hurt them if they get to attack first but the wolfs will stagger them

Nothing I have ever built anywhere has despawned. The untamed wolves will despawn will despawn even after their tamed if you leave the area before they give you a breading pair of born tamed wolves.
From my understanding the starred wolves only spawn at night, and also only eat at night. They are programmed to despawn at morning as long as they are not within eyeshot of your character. So even after tamed they will despawn when you leave them. There is a way around it, Tame one as you have the others, don't sleep through the night, then breed it - the babies will be starred and not be subject to the despawning.

Well, the lox cape gives you resistance to freeze, so it's natural law that they don't get the freezing effect.

Also, no star wolves aren't really worth much, but 1 and 2 star wolves are meat factories that feed themselves

Breed a 1 or 2 star from night with a wolf from the day, the spawn from the pair will not de-spawn.

lox are covered in thick fur, of course they are immune to freezing. Logic.
Wolve fur also gives you cold resistance and they're vulnerable to frost damage

Like many games a wolf wouldn't be the tank, they are the dps. You are the tank, you just hold aggro and collect the free damage.

yo yo... things do not despawn when your away for things to just walk through your walls - the part of the map "hibernates" thus the wolves and such do not move when your away. if this were to happen like you say you would always find random mobs inside your bases..
It makes sense for wolves to be weak alone, they are pack animals

When you breed enough you can have as many follow you as you want and I've had 6 take down a troll but I lost 4 at the same time. I take a few with me when I'm getting copper or anything in the black forest.. will need 2 stars anywhere else I would imagine.... I bet the leeches in swamp would get them quick
I thinks it's too late, but you can have basically endless amount of Wolves following you. You can even finish last boss with big enough pack, just saying.

I actually beat you on the wolf taming and breeding. I tamed 4 and have been letting them breed. I’ve taken them out with me a few times and just LMAO watching them kill stuff for me.

You should call one fenriz. Think fenriz was one of loki children and is a huge wolf and the god of death or decay. During ragnar rok fenriz eats the sun. No expert but a norse name would suit i think.

Don't underestimate your wolfs lol get a couple in a pack and they can take anything. Trolls will hurt them if they get to attack first but the wolfs will stagger them

Nothing I have ever built anywhere has despawned. The untamed wolves will despawn will despawn even after their tamed if you leave the area before they give you a breading pair of born tamed wolves.
Iox are resistant to frost so it won't freeze them

From my understanding the starred wolves only spawn at night, and also only eat at night. They are programmed to despawn at morning as long as they are not within eyeshot of your character. So even after tamed they will despawn when you leave them. There is a way around it, Tame one as you have the others, don't sleep through the night, then breed it - the babies will be starred and not be subject to the despawning.
You should name some of the wolves Al or Greg.
