The Eagles at that time also had a terrible offensive line. 64 sacks as a team (Hoying averaged 4 sacks a game his first real year, if we include all 7 appearances). 56 sacks the next year given up, 35 on hoying in 8 games 7 starts. That's a similar average. Dude got beaten up mentally and physically. Once you get that low as a young passer, all bets are off...
I remember that show. Was unceremoniously ended in 2019.
The QB Teases episode is one of the better episodes of the later seasons of it.
@@fortynights1513 I think the deathkneel was turning from the analysts, writers for papers/leagues and radio heads at the time and focusing on weird obscure comedians to fill for time. I know that is a significant complaint amidst the community that rewatches those. Me personally, some of those people were so...off it felt like the show people behind the scenes must've known them and was trying to get them work/publicity. Which isn't the point of the program and for me, having a section where the Beast Mode earthquake moment leads into a "joke" that refers to a dudes homosexual-focused sexual act just...cringe. That's one example but its an example for those who haven't seen the show of maybe why its unfortunately gone.
Honestly the older shows cringiest episode is the ageless wonders. That episode is not great and its a shame since the topic is so cool and the selections are neat.
@@Gungho73I remember those comics in the later years.
One or two jokes were ok (and should out to Costaki Economopolus for talking about football when he was on despite being a comic), but they did that too often, and a lot of the jokes felt out of place.
In my opinion most of the best episodes had aired by 2013-14. Most of the lists they made after that were reasonably logical to argue (at least at the time they aired), but weren’t presented in a very engaging manner.
My favorite episode of the series hands down would have to be One Shot Wonders from 2007 because you could have made any of the top handful number one and I wouldn’t argue with it, and I like the note they ended it on.
The program had ran its course in general don’t get me wrong, but I still think it sucks that after 11 years or so worth of content, the last episode doesn’t acknowledge that it’s the last episode.
A few lists I would have been intrigued to hear their thoughts about that they never made an episode on:
1. Top 10 Coaches of all time
2. Top 10 Offensive Lines
3. Top 10 Defensive Lines
4. Top 10 Combine Performances
5. Top 10 One and Done Teams
If I was making the last season, I would have made episodes on those topics, and one last final episode that would be a round table look and re-evaluation of all the lists and all the episodes.
But that’s just me.
4:25 The Colts D was so bad, it actually hurt to watch
0:54 Me when the Falcons lost the Super Bowl after being up 28-3 at halftime lol.
It's amazing that so many of these QBs were lesser known or rated. Glad to see Flaco and Mayfield well represented.
It was a 3rd down but I remember the chargers had a 3rd and 33 against the broncos and rivers threw a 50 yard bomb to Vincent Jackson. That play was dope
That throw by Josh McCown was awesome
7:11- If you ever need to prove an old Giants fan that you're a real Giants fan too... then just tell him that your favorite wife receiver growing up was _Ike Hilliard_ haha
That'll _DEFINITELY_ get him!
Just came here to say "hey diddle diddle Ray Rice up the middle!"
All these 4th and 20s were executed at a very high level
Being a Packer fan, I'll never forget "4th & 26".
I use to listen to this radio station wssp in milwaukee and they we're saying how faurve threw the pick in the possession before I called in and said 4th and 26th! It was 4th and 26th! And I might be mistaken but I think they had a 4th and long before that on the same drive! I might got to look that up but I think they did.
I am foreign follower of NFL, and I have a question re Cardinals v Vikings @ 8:31
I thought the receiver had to get both feet down inbounds for a catch to be ruled complete. The receiver here clearly only got one foot down before being pushed OB, so how and why was this TD awarded?
There was a rule for many years that if the receiver was pushed out of the end zone as long as he got one foot down the TD was good
Best one ever was when Lovie Smith made the call for Houston to beat the Colts on multiple 4th downs in a row, with the last one being the nail in the coffin
That play cost me over $500 on a parlay
@@RandyMoss84GOAT I feel your pain. I have lost much on miracle plays as well.
Nothing pisses a defense off more ....
I was at that game when Rice picked up the fourth-and-29 for the Ravens against my team. Brutal. It still hurts.
0:53 "What the f*ck" 🤣
5:05 Bro got jumped by his own man 💀
Can we respect the linemen giving the qb’s enough time to make these plays happen? I mean watch the left tackle come and save the blind side hit from the end at 9:11. Linemen=goats
Now days Targeting would have been called. 10:15
8:27 - Here it is. The season's on the line, two receivers left and right. McCown takes the snap, he steps up, he’s all by himself. Fires it into the end zone … touch … touchdown! Nooooo! Noooooooooooooo! The Cardinals have knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs!!" - Paul Allen
It looks like he only gets one foot down. Did it get reviewed?
@@Spinozasghost I think it did, but it was still a touchdown.
@@aznpikachu215 How was that TD?
@@vojta06 This era of football if a receiver caught the ball and had control and got only one foot down and was pushed out of bounds it was still a catch. Notice the ref make a pushing motion when calling the score.
That Cardinals/Vikings Catch @8:50 was not a catch, correct? He only got one foot down?
Was at the Chiefs vs Browns game (2nd to last clip ) and was screaming “make a tackle “ as the rest of the crowd got restless . Browns avg 9 yards a PLAY that first half . One of the crazier games i been to
i think watching this with just audio and imagining you're driving listening to it on the radio feels so much cooler lol
Ray Rice getting an extra 2 pity yards, that knee is down at the 35 lol.
Would love to see a “Longest 4th downs ever converted!”
So many times the same teams were involved lol
I remember Freddie Mitchell like yesterday!
9:00 wasnt a TD unless they had different rules back then. Only 1 foot was in bounds
They did have different rules then. If you were forced out of bounds it was considered a catch.
@8:27-9:04; that would've been better served with the Vikings call. One of the best calls in the world.
Hearing Marv Albert call an NFL game is awesome.
4:31 That's the play that got the Bears the #1 pick and the eventual trade for all those high draft picks and DJ Moore. Panthers are idiots. 6:01 That's the play that cost me a 3-peat in my Fantasy Football League. That play with Herbert AND Ekeler playing against me despite my huge lead (with Jacobs) would've been game over. The subsequent Chargers comeback (damn' you, Herbert) gave him the Championship that year. I won this year. I know you're all excited.
5:13 that was the most jets play I’ve seen in a long time (among ones that went well)
7:40 dudes last name was Slaughter
Love you Richie Kotite
Can someone please explain the play shown around the 9:00 mark? Just from the footage shown that guy was out of bounds!
There was a rule at the time where a receiver would be credited with a catch if the defender(s) forced the receiver out of bounds. The NFL got rid of the rule in 2008 because it was tough for officials to call.
@@jamisreebirzick5872 thank you! I was so confused! Haha
When defense coach screaming at you. “1 yard!!”
5:00 The Jets had no business attempting that never mind converting it 😂
Genuinely thought this would be 14 minutes entirely of Flacco.
4:30 Putting the Bears-Panthers trade into context and what the Bears got, this may be one of the biggest butterfly effect plays in NFL History and maybe the history of sports.
4th and 26 Fred X - with helmet to helmet that was legendary!
It's the middle of July but I'm ready for some football...
Fitz Magic has the best 4th down conversion of all time
0:27 Yessssssss! Yesssssssssss!
0:29 At the 35 yard line of Arizona!
4th and 26 against the eagles will haunt me my entire life and I was 10 when it happened
4:38 EPIC Fail on #25's part, literally all he had to do was knock the pass down and the Colts win.
10:03 4th and 26 would be an obvious targeting call today
Hey diddle diddle Ray Rice up the middle!
As a Dallas fan these I'm not surprised at
#25 on the colts vs texans, gotta have that play running through his head on the daily. Film Session must have been brutal! 4:50
Ravens - 4th and Forever.
4:45. That missed interception was painfully on purpose. Scripted sports folks.
