Easy Reverse Seared Steaks On A Pellet Smoker - How To Reverse Sear Steaks

- Thank you for watching my Easy Reverse Seared Steaks video. On this video, I took some KC Strip Steaks from E3 Meat Co and I reverse seared them on my Yoder YS640 pellet smoker. If you own a YS640 or a YS480, the cast iron griddle attachment is a must have to reverse sear steaks or even make some smash burgers. Petter smoker steaks have such a great flavor that I prefer this method over direct grilling steaks.

Steak videos will never get old. 🍻
I love way you're talking. I always have problems to unverstand americans cause they are to fast for me. You do better.
Many greetings from germany
The crusts on those steaks look outstanding. Nice pink colour inside too. Such awesome steaks. Cheers, Joe! ✌️
Very nice, I only use this method when making steaks, I’ll have to try the way you seared these, I always go for the hatch marks. Great job thanks for sharing
Those steaks looked amazing. Loved your choice of music. Have a great thanksgiving
Looks real good Joe! I do a reverse sear on Ribeyes using grill grates. Oh so good!
Beautiful, high quality steaks! That Yoder cast iron griddle delivered a great sear 👍
Looks great man!!! Love your tactics keep the great content coming!!!
Great job New York Joe’s Pit BBQ!
Awesome video joe as always.
Love my steaks just like that! NY/ Kansas City’s are my favorite cut! Awesome steaks Joe!
They looked awesome Joe been demonstrating on the new weber smoke fire smoker on a wknd for weber.
May see if they will let me try this out
I like the reverse sear - thx!
I like my steak medium rare. I cook it long enough that it's juices are red but not bloody. Great Video!
Smokin Joe, you are a treasure!
I like to soak up the juices with bread. I just love it.
Excellent video as usual Joe. I will definitely be buying some beef from E3. I love that they support our troops, that's awesome. Those steaks looked great.
I love a good strip steak. I think taking out the diffuser on pellet grills is a great idea!
Wow those looked amazing!!
Thanks so much Jon. 👍
Little done for me but thanks for the reference temps and times. Good video
Delicious looking.
Man I was practically shouting at my screen for you to pull them on the initial temp read. Woulda been perfect medium rare on the first two with the carryover. Great method and amazing looking crust, though. Spring's coming and looking forward to doing steaks outside this way.
Wow those look fkn phenomenal!! Great video. Gonna reverse sear NY strips tonight
Whichever way it’s named Joe….you turned them into some good delicioso looking steaks!! Sometimes the best things are the most simplest!! ❤️🔥👏🏻😋
Looks great.
Awesome video & I hope your daughter realizes how lucky she is having a dad like you! I also have a YS640 with the two piece heat deflector shield. I don't have the griddle, but I do have grill grates that I can use on either side; one for grill marks & the other for flat top action. I'm going to have to try this on some Costco rib eyes. I love doing the reverse sear. Love your channel. Merry Christmas!
Absolutely you can use the grill grates Gerry. You'll get a little more char that way too. Thanks for watching and have a Merry Christmas.👍
looks amazing!
Thank you Leah. 👍🏼
Looks great I must try it 🥩!!!
Those Yoder’s are nice!!! One day!
G'day Joe from Perth Western Australia I love my steaks rare or as we jokingly say in Perth "still running around the paddock"
Have to say in America you take BBQ to the the very best level. Love the channel and the food vids man makes me hungry everytime I watch one of your videos!
Look fwd to the next videos and by the way an early Happy Thanks Giving. Will celebrate my 1st thanks giving as soon as I can get my Fiance here to Western Australia she is from the deep south Biloxi Mississippi .
Very nice Richie! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well and congratulations. Thanks for watching buddy 👍🏼
I love videos where a steak is cooked right I used to like my steaks well done which to me is the hardest to do correctly cause Mos of the time people dry them out and leave them super chewy with a pellet smoker it so easy to do and have it be juicy great video
Thanks Jacob. I think at one point in our lives we all ate steaks super well done. I was one of those guys but medium rare to medium is perfect for me. Thanks for watching.👍
The thing about a pellet grill/smoker is, at least with mine, you have to work fast because the temperature drops so fast. The steaks look amazing. I love the reverse sear, and cast iron just makes meat taste better.
Great video
Thank you Tony! Steaks were so good buddy. 👍🏼
A little too done for me, but my wife would love it! It would be nice to see you do that same cook on the flattop! For me nothing better than charcoal and steak! Smoke with some hickory splits, then slide it over the fire for a hard sear over the coals!
Those look awesome
Thanks Dean. 👍🏼
Medium. Good video.
Just like I like it too. 👌
These look in incredible! That’s my favorite cut. I’m from St. Louis though, so I’ll continue to call ‘em New York strip steaks. 🙂
Thank you Dr. I'm a Ribeye guy but I'm thinking of switching to these NY strip steaks. 🤘
Nailed it!👏
Thank youuu
Love reverse sear but i like it a little more wear and i crank the pellet grill to 450 gets the grill marks on the steaks
Looks real good! 🥩🔥🍻
Thank you Frit. 👍🏼
Those steaks look killer!
I wish you would do a video sometime to talk about various pellets. My beef with pellets is that they seem to be "blends". Blends seem to be a ripoff when you want a pure Hickery or other pure flavor. Could you speak to this in an upcoming video.
Look at that marbling! Crusty smoked goodness buddy!
These were insane good Brian. Thanks for watching buddy.👍
Great looking steaks Joe! That plancha looks like it does a better job than grill grates. Might have to pick one up 🤘
Yo Ryan! It's definitely something to place under your Christmas tree. Thanks for watching my man. Oh...and Go Cowboys!😁
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ bahaha you guys are probably gonna whoop us , we’re a mess lol
Medium Rare for me! Yum
Just a thought, with meat prices skyrocketing now, you might want to give some attention to recipes using cheap cuts of beef/pork/lamb. Also, I prefer high side of RARE (120-125) for my steaks. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday, Joe! ✌️🙏
I like mind 135-140. Med rare. Close to medium.
I like my steaks medium rare Joe! Geno
Some good looking steaks! I'm a strip guy myself, I'll take them over a ribeye any day. 😀
Looks great. A little overcooked for me though
I'll take 2 please. As a snack. Three more for the entree :)
Lol
🤣 What flavor ice cream would you like after your dinner sir? Thanks for watching RY!👍
Medium rare is best IMO! Nice cook!
What Apron is that and can you link it?
Could the steaks be cold smoked before the sear?
Medium rare for me. The wife prefers burnt… wish I could change her preferences but I haven’t been able to do it in 25 years.
My mother is the same way,no matter how close to medium well I prefer to take it she prefers it cooked to death lol
Did you divorce her yet?
What kind of pellets do you prefer for your steaks?
eeny meeny miny moe. lol Actually I think NY stole the Jesey Strip Steak name. 😂😂😂😂Steaks looked perfect. Awesome job Joe- Just a tad more red for me. Perfect for the wife.
I wish you would have used and infrared thermometer gun to see the temp is the iron. I get my skillet to 500 degrees when I do steaks in my pit boss. Get a great sear
The scrunched face with the clenched eyes and approving head shake lets me know that the steak was perfect.
I assume it is too late to order those for delivery...
What kind of wood do you use?
Post oak
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ thank you for your reply! I’m going to try this tonight
Legit thought this was guga foods for a sec lol
Huge compliment! Thank you so much for watching 👍🏼
I got the same plates 😂
Those plates are pretty popular. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
"No antibiotics ever" so what do they do if the cattle actually need antibiotics because they are sick?
@@goffydude Kind of sounds like it as their slogan says but that is a pretty irresponsible practice
Looking at the website it says they give antibiotics when needed, so just a really stupid slogan.
I wish you were my uncle if you made this food for me I would die a happy man
MONEY BOMB
🙋🏻♀🥩😋😍
Thank you so much for watching senorita.😁
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ Mhm ofc (: love your content!❤👍🏻
Hear diffuser,, lol rook
Why do people not do a steak only reverse flow??
I done it and it's so much more better.
I prefer Extra Rare with Extra Sear. The impossible steak.
Sounds delicious. My family likes them more medium. I like it between a medium rare and medium. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ Yes sir! Love the channel. Cheers from Central Texas!
$40 a steak? That's insane.
Medium Rare
I prefer medium rare, but a steak noob. so when I cook it, it ends up more of a medium 😂
this pork chops is a little dry looking
A little overdone
