That’s not a new thing, that’s actually a very old thing. Raucous behavior in the theater was pretty common up through the 20’s and 30’s, but stopped when ‘talkies’ became a thing. It sorta radiated out into live theater as well.

It's actually proven that Britain is very classist, and it is hard for a Brit to be given acting opportunities if they aren't from a middle-class background, with a posh accent, privately-educated etc.
