This video is a TAS of the course "Horror Land" in Mario Party 2.
That video i made just for entertaining category, because i noticed that those TASes are much better than speedruns. (That isn't a speedrun.) I used Peach, because she is with Mario&Luigi my favourite charakter in Mario Party 1,2, and 3. (^_^)
Feel free to say your true feedback, whether that TAS was good or bad. I respect every optition. And improving tips for what i can do better next time. Are always welcome. =)
(I know that kind of questions are already annoying in school =D! Sorry for that.)
But let me know, if you wanna see more stuff like that. =)
I'm ready for doing more in future.
Please enjoy this 48 minutes video of Horror Land and subscribe if you liked it.
A very big special thanks to "ReneBalow" for encoded the entire run.

Mario Party 2
Player: Haru
Version: Japanese
Rerecords: Short over 11k
CPU Difficulty: Hard
"Peach's AI isn't that broken on Hard."
Peach's AI on Hard:
33:08 Just when poor Yoshi was feeling content with 2nd place. She destroys him in a forced duel and takes all his coins, leaving him in dead last. Now that's brutal.
But hey, at least Yoshi didn't end up in last. Poor Luigi...
Alternate name for this video: The reason TheRunawayGuys formed the Anti-Peach Alliance.
Look behind you.
I would agree but that was mario party 1
Peach wins by doing absolutely everything.
Yeah but... oh my god! Is so cute peach.
In this TAS, We see peach be relentless and see how she got her fortune.
Aww, I came here expecting a video where Peach always gets 10's, everyone else always gets 1's, and Peach finds a hidden block with a star every turn. That would be the most tedious thing to TAS, though, so I understand why it wasn't done that way, and this is still entertaining.
ruclips.net/video/ovjk4GV0M0k/видео.html
i always played as Peach even before this TAS! I feel lucky as her..
Man, that game was close! I thought for sure that Luigi would win, but Peach stole it at the very end. So intense!
I like it how you use the literally most optimal route possible in some of the race mini games but still only narrowly win.
James Kernaghan Rubberbanding!
this tas made peach look innocently brutal
Hidden blocks are determined by an algorithm related to buttons pressed on each frame, as well as saved data. This is what triggers events that are "supposed" to occur at random. That means: If you were to start a new game and then press the exact same buttons at EACH of the 60 frames per second, the EXACT same events would occur.
Oh this was my favorite Mario Part game, Luigi's voice when he celebrates or loses and the poses like when Mario loses kill me. Man Nintendo sure has changed for the "worst".
If that was the final results of a 20 turn game, imagine what the final results would be for a 50 turn game....
+Zach Allen 999 coins, 30 stars?
Poverty: the Tool-Assisted Speedrun
You sure this isn't just standard Peach AI?
Lol this is a beautiful TAS. Thanks for all the effort put into this. It amuses and satisfies me to see how the expert computers got destroyed.
20:16 I predict: Peach gets all the coins.
What happened: Peach gets all coins bag. Not too shabby. Everybody else has less than double what Peach has.
I was playing Mario Party 2 Western Land with a goal to let a friend win. He was close to the star but with like 19 coins. Then I accidentally figured out the controls for Dizzy Dancing and won that game, which meant he couldn't afford the star!
Wow, this was the first video that i liked. So many memories
30:31 so u can edgeguard in MARIO PARTY as well?!
+Eddy Yuen peach was top tier even before melee
She even footstool'd Yoshi
+Yoshi Yoestar even in golf
I knew Peach was evil! She obviously teamed up with Bowser to screw over Mario, Luigi and Yoshi! The ending was just a trick so they'd still trust Peach. xD
it’s like fattening up a turkey before killing and eating it
Than after fattening it up, realizing your cranberry sauce just so happened to have traces of your blood and sweat, which explains why it taste so salty. xD
I wish there was a TAS of Sonic Shuffle. The AI cheats way harder in that one, the way they can see all of your cards and steal the one you need, specifically just to spite you. I was playing that snake jump rope minigame with the AI on hard, and they absolutely refused to give up, even when the jump counter hit triple digits.
Wow, with 3 same numbers with a Golden Dice, victory fanfare starts then Toad gives you 50 coins. I know that but in Mario Party 8.
you geht even more if you roll three 7
Really? o.o Thanks
DylanTenshi it's like slot machines, if you roll all 7's you get the jackpot
Yes heh
I know Peach's A.I. in the N64 Mario Parties was really difficult, but this is insane!
Nice video! :) A few things I'd like to ask though:
- Wouldn't it be better to manipulate the computers gaining more coins to duel them later and take all their coins instead of them landing on the Red/Bowser/Baby Bowser spaces?
- Why not land on an item space and get a golden mushroom instead of buying it? (unless this run is based on a speed factor too, then I can see why you don't enter the item room)
Thanks for your time! :)
I love how the minigame name of dungeon dash is some Japanese letters followed by GO! GO!
you played like a complete badass dude. i didnt know that you could cast 2 mushrooms at once during the horror land duel game like that. i do want to point out when yoshi got the mushroom you shouldve manipulated his dice roll to get two 7's and then dueled him for all those coins. and when you landed on the item space, why did you get the bowser bomb instead of a golden mushroom? awesome run on an awesome game. props
He got the Bowser Bomb because he knew he could screw over Luigi and Yoshi
waffledoctor87 golden mushroom is +50 coins, though.
I thought it was 20 in Mario Party 2 though
waffledoctor87 I mean if he scores triple 7 he gets 50 coins.
oh, it has to be 7 specifically? huh.
This TAS helps protect us from Jon's mother.
Well said!
Woah horror-land has blood, the 64 piano and a unique slowed down bowzer mwah-har-har laugh at the beginning
of course when you got the bowser bomb bowser didn't go the way you were. I can imagine the computer's thought process."if I go this way I can steal peachs 400 coins or if I go this way I can steal luigi's 6. hmmmm im thinking luigi
There aren't enough Peach fans in the world. It's good to see a video on youtube where Peach is the winner; I can't stand all the other vids that other people make where she's losing.
30:34 Savage Peach
Second round and Peach already gets a star from a secret block xD
Peach looks awesome as a Witch/Magician :) It sure would be great to see Modern Peach like that :D
Inb4 Mario Chance Times her out of all her stars on the last turn.
just a question for you about this board: At night, do those Stone Thwomps stay put or CAN they move?
Koopa: i think Yoshi is going to win
Me: yeah....
Alternate title: Peach absolutley obliterates littrtley everyone else in Mario Party 2
very nice :D wie lange hast du dafür gebraucht, um das alles zu machen?
This reminds me of North Koreas Democracy. Kim Jong Peach is the mightiest, but basically everyone has the same rights...kind of
47:12 sweet sweet vengance
47:12
Well, TASVideos [DOT org] (the home of such speedruns) has forums and FAQ page that can explain in more detail than I. But basically, what this "movie" is, is a save-state and recording of a sequence of button presses, and is then played over a ROM. They have both the actual videos, and the file of sequences of button presses available for download. Play the sequence over the ROM, and you will have the same exact events occur each time you play the sequence.
Thus, TheRunawayGuys hated Peach.
This happens to me (Peach winning almost all the time)
TheRunawayGuys hated Peach? I Better go ask Chuggaconroy why.
They only hated peach because of mario party 1
Peach is consistently one of the hardest AIs in the early games.
She is literally unpredictable, her signature item in MP2 is an item to steal other's items (So say goodbye to your Boo Bells and Magic Lamps soon), and she's a princess. Oh, and she lies every dam time about baking Mario a cake
Slimkirby hates Peach as well.
Amazing you earned the maximum handicap amount of stars plus the bonus stars, without even using handicap for this TAS.
what if this was like that one stage in mario party DS where you could buy as many stars as you wanted at the star space if you had enough coins
Nackles42 Assuming she bought as many stars as possible from that extra 399 coins she had she would of finished with 31 stars😂
Oh, the DK Jungle stage.
24:49 i have never seen that EVER in mario party o.o kinda cool
Hey Mr.Balow, where did you learn how to type those japanese text?
Oh my gosh, that was amazing xD
Geez, Peach, have mercy!
17:00 I thought it would be 10 * 3 but 7 * 3 is better. Hahaha. I like how your manipulate the fate of everybody. Exemple: everybody land on a Bowser space and have the exact same outcome except Peach where she the very rare consequence-less option. hahaha.
I know this is a 5 year old video but I have to ask, is the star at 3:37 luck or manipulation? And if it's manipulation how is it done or how do you know? I can almost always make a assumption on these tricks like with pressing start before the cpu hits the dice. But the hidden block just seems a little too lucky to be random. But I always thought they were rng.
( Maybe they will appear if you land on certain spaces so to be safe you landed on them all and just happened to get it on the first blue space that it could be... )
Luck manipulation. The person manipulated the game to give stars from chance blocks through RNG manipulation. Probably had to reset multiple times and get the RNG right on the title screen while not messing up the AI's rolls to get what he/she/it wants
Theinsanegamer10 I figured for pressing start that your scenario was the case. But I appreciate the quick response to my question on the hidden blocks. I was hoping it was more complex ( or more simplified I guess ) so I could try it myself.
Ah well, Thank you man/miss.
Lore of マリオパーティ2 (TAS): Perfect Peach in Horror Land! (20 Rounds) momentum 100
i dont know that trick about pressing start button before the character hits the box...very well , i know it now after 14 years xD
It manipulate the steps the CPU are getting, but without Tool-Assisted Speedrun you can't know which number they will get, so it doesnt make any difference if you play this game on console.
I know there's a Star block and a 20 coin block at any given time on each map, and I know that their locations don't change from turn to turn (provided they aren't landed on), but their positions, from the start of each map and each time they're found, is completely random, does all that seem about right to you?
Are hidden blocks on predetermined spots or was it a process of trail and error?
Do you think Pet Sematary by the Ramones would be a fitting song for this board?
Where did you get that footage of me playing against CPUs ?
how long did it take you to make
Marie Cjaboyea as Peach & Marie Chaboyea-Kingbird as Peach
They stay put. There's no way to move them at all until the next day, but there are more boos out at night as a trade off.
can someone explain how the pausing effects rolls. or how any of this works lol. like how did he force the star block on round 2
lad si stecan
In Mario Party 1 & 2 (and maybe 3 but I'm not sure), all the dice rolls are decided on a fixed looping timer, instead random (or, well, psuedorandom) in the later games. The point at which the dice block is actually hit affects the number, and so you can pause to delay the effect.
30:45 was awesome!
h
30:45
Does the pausing right before a COM hits their dice block make them always hit 1?
So, did you have to try every number on ever roll for hidden blocks?
Did you use the Japanese version for shorter text purposes?
The amount of assrape in this video makes prison seem fun.
So it's possible to manipulate the opponents die rolls with perfectly timed pauses, I guess?
It gets kind of cheesy to see four bowser landings in a row.
You're pausing a lot during the dice block rolls. What effect does that have against the AI?
That Chance time was genius lol
This is brutal!
Koopa: I think Yoshi is gonna win
Me knowing Peach has 8 stars and 200 something coins while everyone else has 0 stars and 30 coins or less: Do you are have stupid?
Mario Party 2 i love peach.
You know that She was evil at this time???? 😱😱😱😱
Awesome :D
yay I won
I don't know, Peach just looks like she's on Easy to me.
maybe he didn't want to lose 5 coins, as that happens when you pass the bank
I have no idea why this is spam, but if by predetermined, you mean on the same spot each time you play a map, then no. I can only imagine it was trial and error, unless there's some sort of pattern I don't know about
Luck manipulation. Every time you do an action, it resets the RNG for the dice block. The computers always pick completely random numbers that are determined at the start of their turn. Pausing seems to reset the RNG to give them different numbers, but you must pause for every frame you want to change, which can add up if the right number doesn't come up for long.
Oh, really? That's cool to know. Useless in casual play, haha, but still very cool!
17:05
Lucky 7s ^.^
Great tas. Couldn't you have manipulated the dancing minigame so that all CPU lose? That would save some extra time instead of having another round.
*lose immediately
Astheniac This TAS was for fun
7:17
WHAT ARE YOU DOING MARIO???
Not at all! Well, as the game is its own independently programmed unit, it can never have true randomness, so such "randomness" always has to be based on something within game itself, ergo, keypresses. As for how exactly they affect the game, I myself am not completely sure, but as being able to re-record and try again with different keypresses to trigger random events is also possible (the guy pauses on occasion for no reason),this luck manipulation overrides having to know the code by heart :)
Japanisch ist bei Movie recordings von dem Spiel auch besser weil die USA-Rom bei jedem Plugin außer Gilde diese Grafik-Bugs hat.
Hi im peach and daisy and rosalina! That my favorite princess! Is so cute!
15:08 I ain't saying she's a gold digger.
She ain't messing with no broke plumbers
I like the voices in Mario Part 1 & 2. Some of them changed in 3 and more but I perfer their 1 & 2 voices
I figure that you pausing the game at those moments manipulates the CPU's to get the numbers they do, but I'm curious. How does it do that? Why does pausing the game frame perfectly cause the CPU's to roll their specific numbers?
Get this, in Mario Party 2 and 3, the roll of the dice is determined all by how long you wait for the dice block to roll. It's not based on what number it is like in Mario Party 1. So let's say you wait five seconds for the block to roll and you hit it. You get a 3. Now if you pause during the animation of jumping, but before you hit the dice block, and unpause, there is a high chance you'll get something different. It works with all players, no matter the character or if it's a computer controlled one.
Tas should be a difficulty setting for the cpu
I like japan versions
12 stars, 400 coins. My lord.
i'm never playing any mario party against you i'm gonna lose badly
In the description, I believe its supposed to be "I respect every opinion". Sorry! >.
PEACH GO HARD
Respekt Dennis :D
運良すぎだろ
チャンスタイムのやつなんてヤバいですよね。
