Same. Was a daily player from S4-S15. Haven't spent a dime since then and on the rare occasion I do play, it only takes maybe 3 matches to remember why I left. The MM is inexcusably atrocious
More than a nightmare. I only have 30k and the champions had 300,000 kills between the two of them and they got a random. It’s borderline unplayable I have 285 days on the game because I spend way more time on the loading screen.
I think what they should do for sbmm is if you are a solo, your skill level gets reduced. So if you are an average 5/10 skill level it will take you down to a weight of someone whose a 3 or 4. Or do it where pre mades get added skill to determine in balancing. So a 5/10 would become a 6 or 7 if they have a friend queueing with them, and a 7-8 if they have a full 3 man. I think it would help balance the experience for solo players.
I feel like this is how the ranked Q works atm tbh, i solo Q and i win get loads of kills, teammates are just barely keeping up granted its only a week in and probably a bit of a mess but as soon as i teamed up there was nothing but 20 badge masters duo or 3 stack galore. It was insane the difference. It was so weird 😂
I've been playing for less than 2 weeks. Today I played about a dozen games and in at least 3 of them there were players with 80,000 kills. Best way to kill a game is to have shit matchmaking for new players.
The thing is with matchmaking is, like you said, someone always gets the shit end of the stick. Either it’s lenient and lower skill players are allowed into higher level lobbies, or it’s aggressive and high skill players only match high skill players. So either the high skill players are not allowed to play casually in any game mode or low skill players get dogged on

I can understand every couple of games having preds or high kevel players in pubs. But every second game has a pred duo or trio. Something is up with their engagement optimisation, because nothing makes me hop odf apex quicker than either fighting sweats, or brand new players.
I made my friend play with me, the first like 5 matchs are against bot, but in the very first match we died to a 3 stack masters absolutely devastating the bots in that lobby! I was level 8 e he was 1. This game has the worst matchmaking in history! I can’t make any of my friends play with because they all get destroyed to pro players in their early levels. How they want new players if they can’t even play the game?
pubs will generally have a lot worse players but it usually means your teammates leave it up to you to try 1v3 most the time as they died trying to do just that
most times that i boot into a game, my team mates just rush in with barely any aim or self preservation . I feel bad cos theyre jus starting out and theyre probably kids, but they should be in a lobby with their level. Thing is i always have to kind of come in and res them and revive them and i end up dying or i risk it a ton
Why would you expect them to "fix matchmaking" when this is Working as intended. This is EOMM in a nutshell. After this game these guys you killed will most likely go into an actual bot lobby depending on the data signature of their account. The matchmaking system will never be fair, the main purpose of it is to farm engagement metrics to show off to share holders at meetings.
I noticed today that what they said is BS to lure back players. i am in absolute SWEAT lobbies with Preds and Diamonds in Rookie 1. I have been Plat since season 1 to 12 as a casual player. It seems like they reset the stats, but it didn't take long for me to match and carry bots and get lobby rolled. Respawn offically sux.
I'm not sure what lobbies you in, but in rookie and bronze i was playing nonstop bots. I didn't run into any preds or diamonds until i got to silver 2 and that's mostly because everyone got hard reset. I'm sure it was bad the first week since everyone was playing in those lobbies. If you're still running into those players now, i don't know what to tell you lol. You'll just have to wait for the ranks to balance out.
This is BS bro, there is now way that after a week you are still playing high ranked players in Rookie 1 constantly. Yes you might run in a good squad or 2 during a sesh but that will be it.
My matchmaking is so weird. I had a lifeline on my team level 6 and a level 400 loba with Apex Predator badge and 3k badge. I’m level 43 with maybe 300 account kills. Matchmaking is strange.
I stopped playing in S17 because they took the MM from bad to impossible. Every single game the champion was a badged up psychopath. Fortunately Straight Shot has been really fun and I can finally enjoy the game again. If they take away SS and the pub MM is as bad as it was in S17, I am gone again.
Yesterday, I re downloaded apex after not playing for two years. I originally was a gold / plat player. An average gamer, I can admit I wasn't amazing but I was competent. I'm not trying to be the man at gaming, so no need to scream skill issue in the comments, I get it. I Played from season 2 to around catalyst....After downloading it again, I jump into the firing range to re learn everything and check out the new content. My game sense and reactions are certainly shit due to not playing for so long. I had a quick skirmish with a friend and its felt fun and exciting..... We jump into a match... The first game we play.... We make it to the final two squads as no one was around, found the last team, the champion squad, 3 stack (same names) all 4k badge, 20 bomb badge... we got instantly rolled.....that must be sbmm in action....We then Decided to play ranked to try and filter out the sweats as we would be bronze.. played another 4 games. Still died to 4k badges. No one in my squad got a single kill... Deleted the game. That is the state of apex. I don't think it will ever be fixed, the player base overall have just gotten better so there really are no true bronze and any casuals are just pushed away. So yes "I rage quitted", well actually, I was laughing at how fuckd the game is, I'm not interested in grinding just to be able to participate in playing the game, rather grind something new.

you probably got no kills either lol. also they hard reset everyplayer including masters both good and trash (because trash masters do exist) so you need to wait 2-3 weeks after the season drops to play ranked. My friend and I have never played ranked, our best badges are 2k for me and 2.5 k for him and we always get matched with preds virtually every game. Its so incredibly frustrating, we have casually played since the game first came out and it feels like there hasn’t ever been a point where the match making was fair except in season 0-2 when no one knew what they were doing. Can it really be that hard to put people together that are within .2 KD of eachother?

ur not wrong, all day yesterday that happened to me. my teammates and i were all on the same level (bronze 3) type of players, meanwhile the enemy team have over 100k damage or 5k kills per person (basically 3 stack predators). and wats even worse is im in australia so terrible internet plus i have to wait almost 15mins for a match to start, sometimes i have to go to Singapore or Tokyo servers just to find a match
MMR in ranked was their to protect you from that; everyone resets and are in the same rank so, without MMR, you will face everyone that hasn't played ranked yet and who you face is purely up to whatever other lobbies ready up when your lobby does. Also it sounds like you've been relatively lucky (neither 100k dmg nor 5k kills is anywhere near Pred level, unless they've just started playing that legend)
My experience with sbmm is awful. I have been playing br apex since Dec 2023 and have 700 career kills. However I am constantly getting shafted and out in lobbies with preds, masters, 20 bombers and people with upwards of 20k kills on one legend. It’s not fair and ruins the game for someone trying to get better at the game
For me, solo queuing ranked on console, I’ll be against Silver - Pred players, which is somewhat frustrating, because that can flip towards the higher ranked players very quickly and that’s more Plat - Pred players
It's one thing to balance the match by skill. It's another to balance it by how hard people try. This is a pub match, where people tend to vibe and play casually. Most aren't giving comms, nor would they put 100% effort into the match. They can have great skills and game sense, but the big deciding factor is how hard one tries to win a fight.
I was away from the game for about a year and a half. I finally came back last season because I missed it. I'm the definition of an average player. I play after work and on the weekends so not a predator by any means. My first game back after being away for a year and a half, I had a 20 kill, 4k damage, master teammate, a level 17 teammate, and the champions were 3 stack predators. So I think that tells you all you need to know about the SBMM in this game.
Very similar. Came back at the very end of last season after a 2 year break. Nearly every game I played had preds running thru the lobbies. I was average when I had time to play much but now I'm pretty shit and the lobbies haven't changed. Makes it hard to enjoy the game when there wasn't any relief in ranked either.
Every game i get teammates that doesn´t know how to play the game... thats exhausting and no fun to try to carry every time. Wish i could get a lobby like you got
i can relate so much, i made an account after like 3 years of not playing and i got into a game with the number 488 pred as champion and my teammates both had over 600k damage and over 1000 kills. i was lvl 5 btw......

If you're new or old to the game you should get random lobbies and compete against random competitors instead of having to 1v3, a 3 stack pred team bc the sbmm decided that you should have to drag 2 scrub teammates all because you're actually good at the game and they need a participation trophy. If you want a win, get good at the game or quit playing, don't just rely on the sbmm to give you a person who has put in the time to get good to drag your sorry butt to a win!!!!!!!!
Apex matchmaking is horrid, not saying I’m good at this game but consistently I get teamed with level 7s that drop in a foreign country, don’t help with fights, run away while I. A fight when all of us are alive and more this really needs to be fixed.
The thing with your lobbies are it’s a lot of returning players that because the last time they played they probably had high MMR they’re going into your games rusty
that was an awesome game. I feel like Halo is much harsher when it comes to the higher skilled players in pubs, they are expected to carry the team whilst making it more fun for lower ranked players. You do well you get punished for it by having terrible teammates

I used to play apex back then. I used to get preds eveyr lobby. I downloaded apex yesterday and played 5 solo matches. Everytime i was killed by a player with thousands of kills on one legend. Players with pred rank wete sill on my lobby. I am literally a beginner how am I supposed to kill veteran streamers 🤡💀
It's stupid game design. Fuck them! Don't play this game. I am new too and managed to kill only 2 guys out of 11 games in solo. So I am at 2/22 and I still get matchmaked with sweats.
Every single game I've played in this new season has been me getting killed by a player with a 20 kill badge and a minimum of a 3k badge. I literally have screenshots of five games in a row where I've gotten shit on by these players and I'm sick of it. I get an average of about 8 or so kills per game and I have 2k badges on like 6 charecters so I am not horrible but it makes the game not fun when the people I'm fighting are 500 levels higher than me and have 15 kills when I spectate. I see why my friends quit playing 2 seasons ago
I freaking knew it.... Competent teammates that can hold their own for 10 or so matches then when you win too many or perform at a decent level, Apex mm is like "alright lets give you teammates that can't find their ass with both hands for the next 30 matches". Man this feels so bad. I heard they had fixed it and came back but realized quickly from experience that its the same or worse than it was before. I love this game and want to play it. I just want to feel like im playing matches with similarly skill teammates.
I deleted apex because of this. I just recently got a ps5 and am a complete beginner at console games (always been a mobile gamer) and was so excited to play apex ESPECIALLY after they removed it from mobile last year, only to immediately find out how unfair matchmaking is.
I've been enjoying it. Playing bloodhound like when my friends first introduced me to apex, besides no comm teammates or the first teammate goes down instantly quit. That's been my experience alot more people instantly backing out. Lower side of the k.d only at 1.3
I watch Zeus how to play Mirage and improve my own. It's been fun bamboozling with the 30s ult and tac refresh, makes me laugh seeing enemies swishing their aim.
i feel like the “reset” for ranked kinda fucked up the matchmaking across the board. i’m maybe an above average casual at best and i’ve gotten nothing but 20 bomb 4k preds and masters players. i’ve only been playing since June of 2023 so facing these day 1 sweats is very disheartening and makes me wanna just quit trying while im ahead. i’ve felt like “good” games are hard to come by.
The problem is (I’m a typical silver/gold solo-player) that is didn’t change. I won 3 matches, BOOM, 3-stacks of masters. And… honestly, I have no idea how to farm these challenges for reactive flatline anymore. I wanted that skin so bad but right now I literally have no any idea. The only thing that came to my mind is just lose game one by one but idk if it helps😢
Hi Zeus 1st time commenting in your videos, here's a question from a player that plays ranked seasonally i vary between diamond and masters, but masters doesnt mean crap anymore Anyway i solo que if my son cant play cause we play as a duo, im on console he is on pc so when we que i end up pc lobbies which i dont mind makes it alot more fun. But when solo queuing i am queed up with guys that have a lifetime kill count of below 350 kills ( which u can now see if someone equips those new banners) Dont u think to stop cheating or halt it a bit especially now that there is no level cap they should put a kill cap on it for example if u have less than 1500 lifetime kills u cannot play ranked, so even if these cheaters wanna get into ranked on new accounts it would take them 75 games if they drop 20 kills per game
It has been way better so far this season, it's the first season I am at 1.0 k/d (1.04). Last season every lobby was absolutely brutal. I got a lot better, but you always had to be on 10.
This is why I don't understand why other youtubers are saying that the game is saved this season. We still have cheaters, Overpriced skins, MMR , and every update they do messes the game up for a couple of days. Wild.

PS5 here. my random teammates are like level 7 and 30 while we go against 20 kill badges, preds and full stacked teams. That happens quiet a lot. I get 2 downed get downed by their third and end up with 500 dmg and 2 knocks while my teammates have 40 and 90 dmg . Story of my Apex solo with randoms. I dont bitch about the game but i feel like it would be fair to have some people wait a little longer instead this insanity. Its not just about me but i feel sorry for my teammates too, its just not balanced.
The reason I stopped playing this game, it's like win one and get placed with total useless team so you die. Rinse and repeat, none of my friends are into this game so I am stuck randoms and at the mercy of SBMM. Put the game down for 3 years now.

The first few days of ranked was the worst ever for me, totally pointless even trying. I usually hit Plat 4, struggle to get out of Gold 1. Usually 1KD the last few seasons, 8K kills on my account. Still constantly versing players with 10K+ kills on one legend. It's getting a bit better as the ranks level out, but still super hard.
I'm obsessive so I tracked my teammates' performance compared to mine during a 2 hour session and it's ridiculous. Out damaged, out killed, stayed alive longer than them all the while in trying to keep them alive and make callouts. And i consider myself average at this game lmao. I'm going to post a video about it in a day or two

There is no fixing matchmaking. Every industry is saturated with talent now. Best you can do is learn to lose now and let the matchmaker distribute advantages as it sees fit.
The game either puts me against new players or masters 3 stacks, often it's masters 3 stacks then when the game sees that I don't have a victory for a while it puts me against new players, there is no in between anymore where chances of winning are 50/50 and for what I see there is no more average players in Apex, there is only masters and people who started playing the game, I mean most of the players...
They've done the whole thing where if you got to lvl 501, you're lvl 1 again. So maybe players that have hit lvl 1 again (501) go in a diff lobby than true lvl 1 players. Then we may end up with lvl 1 - 500, 501 - 1000, so on.

45% w/l ratio on 4.1kd this season 100+ wins queue against lv1-100 players somtimes and i am like wtf am i playing against i could kill them without them been able to even crack me which is simply not fair

I think the issue is the majority of 4k/20kill badge players like to play like cavemen rushing everything with zero regard in pubs. So even if you do get "good" teammates, theyre bound to tunnel vision for kills and that leads the supporting teammates in a bad position quite often. Also, the matchmaking doesnt adjust for bad performances until youve had 7 of your last 8 games go south.

He's playing in pubs. I'm pretty sure all the matchmaking changes were for rank only. The main change was removing hidden mmr. Rookie and bronze lobbies were way too easy. I played one game were my friends and I killed half the lobby. I killed so many players that were bots. They would look straight at me and stand still and not shoot back lol. I got to silver and the lobbies are more balanced out. In a week or so, i bet silver lobbies will be just like the rookie and bronze lobbies.

Nah the reason everyone is average and below in your pub matches is because most of the pub sweats are playing straight shot as its quicker games which equals more kills/wins in the same amount of time
I don't really ever play pubs. LTMs, occasionally Mixtape yes, but I generally stick to Ranked (what can I say, I'm a ranked enjoyer), so I can't really comment on SBMM in pubs. The primary reason I don't play pubs, though, is that pub stomping is still a thing. I'm so sick and tired of going up against 3-stack masters and preds when my team is at best a 3-stack of high plat/low diamond level players and at worst a solo-queue. I want to feel like I have a chance to win any given game, which Ranked gives me. And when I simply want to w-key everything, I go into Mixtape where I can just turn my brain off for a bit. If adding some actual SBMM to pubs takes resources that is better suited toward other dev tasks, I say it's not worth it.
My PC lobbies have been nearly impossible this season as a solo queue player. Nonstop masters 3 stacks holding hands in pubs every single game.

I'm a diamond player and I get f'd with useless teammates over 90% of the games I play. I don't even feel like playing anymore. It's not even fun.

pubs will generally have a lot worse players but it usually means your teammates leave it up to you to try 1v3 most the time as they died trying to do just that
most times that i boot into a game, my team mates just rush in with barely any aim or self preservation . I feel bad cos theyre jus starting out and theyre probably kids, but they should be in a lobby with their level. Thing is i always have to kind of come in and res them and revive them and i end up dying or i risk it a ton
Why would you expect them to "fix matchmaking" when this is Working as intended. This is EOMM in a nutshell.
After this game these guys you killed will most likely go into an actual bot lobby depending on the data signature of their account.
The matchmaking system will never be fair, the main purpose of it is to farm engagement metrics to show off to share holders at meetings.
I noticed today that what they said is BS to lure back players. i am in absolute SWEAT lobbies with Preds and Diamonds in Rookie 1. I have been Plat since season 1 to 12 as a casual player. It seems like they reset the stats, but it didn't take long for me to match and carry bots and get lobby rolled. Respawn offically sux.

I'm not sure what lobbies you in, but in rookie and bronze i was playing nonstop bots. I didn't run into any preds or diamonds until i got to silver 2 and that's mostly because everyone got hard reset. I'm sure it was bad the first week since everyone was playing in those lobbies. If you're still running into those players now, i don't know what to tell you lol. You'll just have to wait for the ranks to balance out.
This is BS bro, there is now way that after a week you are still playing high ranked players in Rookie 1 constantly. Yes you might run in a good squad or 2 during a sesh but that will be it.
My matchmaking is so weird. I had a lifeline on my team level 6 and a level 400 loba with Apex Predator badge and 3k badge. I’m level 43 with maybe 300 account kills. Matchmaking is strange.

I stopped playing in S17 because they took the MM from bad to impossible. Every single game the champion was a badged up psychopath. Fortunately Straight Shot has been really fun and I can finally enjoy the game again. If they take away SS and the pub MM is as bad as it was in S17, I am gone again.
Yesterday, I re downloaded apex after not playing for two years. I originally was a gold / plat player. An average gamer, I can admit I wasn't amazing but I was competent. I'm not trying to be the man at gaming, so no need to scream skill issue in the comments, I get it. I Played from season 2 to around catalyst....After downloading it again, I jump into the firing range to re learn everything and check out the new content. My game sense and reactions are certainly shit due to not playing for so long. I had a quick skirmish with a friend and its felt fun and exciting..... We jump into a match... The first game we play.... We make it to the final two squads as no one was around, found the last team, the champion squad, 3 stack (same names) all 4k badge, 20 bomb badge... we got instantly rolled.....that must be sbmm in action....We then Decided to play ranked to try and filter out the sweats as we would be bronze.. played another 4 games. Still died to 4k badges. No one in my squad got a single kill... Deleted the game. That is the state of apex. I don't think it will ever be fixed, the player base overall have just gotten better so there really are no true bronze and any casuals are just pushed away. So yes "I rage quitted", well actually, I was laughing at how fuckd the game is, I'm not interested in grinding just to be able to participate in playing the game, rather grind something new.

you probably got no kills either lol. also they hard reset everyplayer including masters both good and trash (because trash masters do exist) so you need to wait 2-3 weeks after the season drops to play ranked. Before you say it shouldn’t be that way, would you rather it NEVER be that way than 2-3 weeks into an 11 week long season..? mixtape does exist to practice mechanics even if your getting shot in the back half the time. Sit back, re-learn the map, re-learn spots for cover. ggs

I was watching my son play on his new account, and during the orientation matches, there was a masters player in his lobby, in the ORIENTATION matches.
My friend and I have never played ranked, our best badges are 2k for me and 2.5 k for him and we always get matched with preds virtually every game. Its so incredibly frustrating, we have casually played since the game first came out and it feels like there hasn’t ever been a point where the match making was fair except in season 0-2 when no one knew what they were doing. Can it really be that hard to put people together that are within .2 KD of eachother?

ur not wrong, all day yesterday that happened to me. my teammates and i were all on the same level (bronze 3) type of players, meanwhile the enemy team have over 100k damage or 5k kills per person (basically 3 stack predators). and wats even worse is im in australia so terrible internet plus i have to wait almost 15mins for a match to start, sometimes i have to go to Singapore or Tokyo servers just to find a match
MMR in ranked was their to protect you from that; everyone resets and are in the same rank so, without MMR, you will face everyone that hasn't played ranked yet and who you face is purely up to whatever other lobbies ready up when your lobby does. Also it sounds like you've been relatively lucky (neither 100k dmg nor 5k kills is anywhere near Pred level, unless they've just started playing that legend)
You know straight away you got into a bot lobby when there’s 21 squads in a trio lobby.
My experience with sbmm is awful. I have been playing br apex since Dec 2023 and have 700 career kills. However I am constantly getting shafted and out in lobbies with preds, masters, 20 bombers and people with upwards of 20k kills on one legend. It’s not fair and ruins the game for someone trying to get better at the game
For me, solo queuing ranked on console, I’ll be against Silver - Pred players, which is somewhat frustrating, because that can flip towards the higher ranked players very quickly and that’s more Plat - Pred players

It's one thing to balance the match by skill. It's another to balance it by how hard people try.
This is a pub match, where people tend to vibe and play casually. Most aren't giving comms, nor would they put 100% effort into the match.
They can have great skills and game sense, but the big deciding factor is how hard one tries to win a fight.
I was away from the game for about a year and a half. I finally came back last season because I missed it. I'm the definition of an average player. I play after work and on the weekends so not a predator by any means. My first game back after being away for a year and a half, I had a 20 kill, 4k damage, master teammate, a level 17 teammate, and the champions were 3 stack predators. So I think that tells you all you need to know about the SBMM in this game.
Very similar. Came back at the very end of last season after a 2 year break. Nearly every game I played had preds running thru the lobbies. I was average when I had time to play much but now I'm pretty shit and the lobbies haven't changed. Makes it hard to enjoy the game when there wasn't any relief in ranked either.
Every game i get teammates that doesn´t know how to play the game... thats exhausting and no fun to try to carry every time. Wish i could get a lobby like you got
i can relate so much, i made an account after like 3 years of not playing and i got into a game with the number 488 pred as champion and my teammates both had over 600k damage and over 1000 kills.

There is always that self-delusion of people overrating themselves thinking they are better than they actually are and deserve 20k/4k and whatnot but their lobbies are just "unfair". While that very same deluded people would die even is provisional match on a new account where you fight NPC's who are designed not to shoot back.

If you're new or old to the game you should get random lobbies and compete against random competitors instead of having to 1v3, a 3 stack pred team bc the sbmm decided that you should have to drag 2 scrub teammates all because you're actually good at the game and they need a participation trophy. If you want a win, get good at the game or quit playing, don't just rely on the sbmm to give you a person who has put in the time to get good to drag your sorry butt to a win!!!!!!!!

Apex matchmaking is horrid, not saying I’m good at this game but consistently I get teamed with level 7s that drop in a foreign country, don’t help with fights, run away while I. A fight when all of us are alive and more this really needs to be fixed.
The thing with your lobbies are it’s a lot of returning players that because the last time they played they probably had high MMR they’re going into your games rusty
that was an awesome game. I feel like Halo is much harsher when it comes to the higher skilled players in pubs, they are expected to carry the team whilst making it more fun for lower ranked players. You do well you get punished for it by having terrible teammates
In these past months I noticed matches have gotten extremely unfair. I get matched with PLAYERS that have 10,000+ kills, preds, masters, i mean what the f&$% this has gotten insane and I play on xbox
I used to play apex back then. I used to get preds eveyr lobby. I downloaded apex yesterday and played 5 solo matches. Everytime i was killed by a player with thousands of kills on one legend. Players with pred rank wete sill on my lobby. I am literally a beginner how am I supposed to kill veteran streamers 🤡💀
It's stupid game design. Fuck them! Don't play this game. I am new too and managed to kill only 2 guys out of 11 games in solo. So I am at 2/22 and I still get matchmaked with sweats.

Every single game I've played in this new season has been me getting killed by a player with a 20 kill badge and a minimum of a 3k badge. I literally have screenshots of five games in a row where I've gotten shit on by these players and I'm sick of it. I get an average of about 8 or so kills per game and I have 2k badges on like 6 charecters so I am not horrible but it makes the game not fun when the people I'm fighting are 500 levels higher than me and have 15 kills when I spectate. I see why my friends quit playing 2 seasons ago

Competent teammates that can hold their own for 10 or so matches then when you win too many or perform at a decent level, Apex mm is like "alright lets give you teammates that can't find their ass with both hands for the next 30 matches". Man this feels so bad. I heard they had fixed it and came back but realized quickly from experience that its the same or worse than it was before. I love this game and want to play it. I just want to feel like im playing matches with similarly skill teammates.
I deleted apex because of this. I just recently got a ps5 and am a complete beginner at console games (always been a mobile gamer) and was so excited to play apex ESPECIALLY after they removed it from mobile last year, only to immediately find out how unfair matchmaking is.

i feel like the “reset” for ranked kinda fucked up the matchmaking across the board. i’m maybe an above average casual at best and i’ve gotten nothing but 20 bomb 4k preds and masters players. i’ve only been playing since June of 2023 so facing these day 1 sweats is very disheartening and makes me wanna just quit trying while im ahead. i’ve felt like “good” games are hard to come by.

And… honestly, I have no idea how to farm these challenges for reactive flatline anymore. I wanted that skin so bad but right now I literally have no any idea. Anyway i solo que if my son cant play cause we play as a duo, im on console he is on pc so when we que i end up pc lobbies which i dont mind makes it alot more fun. But when solo queuing i am queed up with guys that have a lifetime kill count of below 350 kills ( which u can now see if someone equips those new banners)
Dont u think to stop cheating or halt it a bit especially now that there is no level cap they should put a kill cap on it for example if u have less than 1500 lifetime kills u cannot play ranked, so even if these cheaters wanna get into ranked on new accounts it would take them 75 games if they drop 20 kills per game

It has been way better so far this season, it's the first season I am at 1.0 k/d (1.04). Last season every lobby was absolutely brutal. I got a lot better, but you always had to be on 10.

PS5 here. my random teammates are like level 7 and 30 while we go against 20 kill badges, preds and full stacked teams. That happens quiet a lot. I get 2 downed get downed by their third and end up with 500 dmg and 2 knocks while my teammates have 40 and 90 dmg . Story of my Apex solo with randoms. I dont bitch about the game but i feel like it would be fair to have some people wait a little longer instead this insanity. Its not just about me but i feel sorry for my teammates too, its just not balanced.

Masters can que with rookies. I use the overwolf plugin so you can see all players ranks. So most lobbies are quite different
The first few days of ranked was the worst ever for me, totally pointless even trying. I usually hit Plat 4, struggle to get out of Gold 1. Usually 1KD the last few seasons, 8K kills on my account. Still constantly versing players with 10K+ kills on one legend. It's getting a bit better as the ranks level out, but still super hard.
I got 200 hours and find myself carrying people who have more hours and rank than me.
This games matchmaking/players are strange.
I'm obsessive so I tracked my teammates' performance compared to mine during a 2 hour session and it's ridiculous. Out damaged, out killed, stayed alive longer than them all the while in trying to keep them alive and make callouts. And i consider myself average at this game lmao. I'm going to post a video about it in a day or two
Ive never made it past gold, and I took multiple seasons off and have gotten even worse. I've been playing again and enjoyed Apex for the first week of the season and had good fun, but the past three days have been awful. I keep going against masters in pubs and I just want to bang my head against a wall after five matches. And then I play a bit of ranked and the matches are fun. Why on earth is the casual playslist more sweaty and anger inducing than the mode made for sweats? The matchmaking NEEDS to be fixed.

There is no fixing matchmaking. Every industry is saturated with talent now. Best you can do is learn to lose now and let the matchmaker distribute advantages as it sees fit.
The game either puts me against new players or masters 3 stacks, often it's masters 3 stacks then when the game sees that I don't have a victory for a while it puts me against new players, there is no in between anymore where chances of winning are 50/50 and for what I see there is no more average players in Apex, there is only masters and people who started playing the game, I mean most of the players...
In plat, got a rookie as a champion one match and got a pred as the champion 2 matches later
It freaking sucks all 3stacks pred and masters in my lobbies as a solo they didn’t fix anything
They've done the whole thing where if you got to lvl 501, you're lvl 1 again. So maybe players that have hit lvl 1 again (501) go in a diff lobby than true lvl 1 players. Then we may end up with lvl 1 - 500, 501 - 1000, so on.

I think the issue is the majority of 4k/20kill badge players like to play like cavemen rushing everything with zero regard in pubs. So even if you do get "good" teammates, theyre bound to tunnel vision for kills and that leads the supporting teammates in a bad position quite often.
Also, the matchmaking doesnt adjust for bad performances until youve had 7 of your last 8 games go south.
IMO halo has been the only shooter to get SBMM right. Level up based on wins, level down on losses. Eventually you stall out at your true level.
Makes sense to me. So simple. Could use KDs instead of wins, or a combination of kd and win percentage.

He's playing in pubs. I'm pretty sure all the matchmaking changes were for rank only. The main change was removing hidden mmr. Rookie and bronze lobbies were way too easy. I played one game were my friends and I killed half the lobby. I killed so many players that were bots. They would look straight at me and stand still and not shoot back lol. I got to silver and the lobbies are more balanced out. In a week or so, i bet silver lobbies will be just like the rookie and bronze lobbies.

I don't really ever play pubs. LTMs, occasionally Mixtape yes, but I generally stick to Ranked (what can I say, I'm a ranked enjoyer), so I can't really comment on SBMM in pubs. The primary reason I don't play pubs, though, is that pub stomping is still a thing. I'm so sick and tired of going up against 3-stack masters and preds when my team is at best a 3-stack of high plat/low diamond level players and at worst a solo-queue. I want to feel like I have a chance to win any given game, which Ranked gives me. And when I simply want to w-key everything, I go into Mixtape where I can just turn my brain off for a bit. If adding some actual SBMM to pubs takes resources that is better suited toward other dev tasks, I say it's not worth it.
