I am driving a T680 daycab with the Cummins ISX engine and 12 speed transmission. One that comes to mind is the torque where you don't feel like you are pulling an empty trailer. The fuel management system means that it will automatically go into neutral if you are going down hill even with the foot on the pedal it will automatically do it. So you got to watch out and it will go into neutral if you coast to a red light or on an open stretch of road. The turning radius is not as good as the other trucks but you can make sufficient U turns if you need to. When going in reverse the truck will automatically do it for you. One thing I did notice is that the AC is cold I mean extremely cold when you turn it on. I get cold after a few minutes even if it's set on the hotter settings with the AC on.
i'm not a trucker but i said a couple years ago when this truck came out in my opinion the T680 has the best body style. also what i don't agree with is everything is a option when it should be standard equipment . like the swivel table and tv holder it is what the drivers need plus a bigger fridge. i don't know why company's do this just too jack up the price. these trucks are expensive enough.
We are in a 2016 T680. I was hoping to find improvements to the interior after 4 years. Its identical! Especially the fridge needs improvement. Dont tell me to put a cooler under the bunk. That's NOT practical. A door fridge is better.
Yep i agree! Kenworth it's time for a upgrade in the sleeper!! All truck makers spend a lot of time on fuel economy and drive trains but no time putting together a real comfortable sleeper package. Some of us spend a lot of time away from home and we need a bigger refrigerator and more storage space. And hopefully one day would like to see a booth set up or a sofa bed. I've been driving since 1987 and been driving kenworth trucks for 30years and I really do love kenworth trucks but could these people at least start thinking a little bit more harder on driver comforts. IMJS
I like KW for the quality and (like everyone else) the W900 growing up. I do wish that they’d refresh the exterior of the T680. The New Cascadia and Volvo VNL truck look amazing. A T680 with slicked back styling like that would be awesome!
Maybe one day it’ll refresh. It’s a cab that came out 7 years ago. Some of the other manufacturers have new hoods or headlights but same old interiors.
From experience ik the mount is for a 22" TV but I've got a 32" TV in my 680. Had it there for the last year and everything seems to be just fine. I still have full functionality of the mount as well.
What a gorgeous truck, I drove a 2016 when I was a company driver and damn it I miss it. I was able to mount a 32in tv there and I think I could have put a a 40in but not sure definitely a 32in tho. It wouldn’t turn all the way around like a 22in will but the 32in is definitely a nice fit👍. Great video! Keep them coming!!
Would be cool if Paccar would take everything that is great about this truck and the Peterbilt 579 and even the Volvo VNL 780 and make a truck that has the best of all worlds. And have it as the Paccar PAC Z395 (Just a suggested/proposed model number)
Great video Andy. Thank you for a good review and video 📹 of the truck. Great theme song.🎶 The Kenworth T680 is a workhorse of a truck 🚛 with all the creature comforts.🛋🛏☕️📺 BTW: Congrats on hitting 10k subscribers.👍💯
I like watching your videos from south Tx looking at your freezing weather at the time you posted this video. Just sitting back waiting to see when these truck manufacturers will get themselves in a financial bind for the price of these trucks. I’m waiting for the pick up trucks to do the same.
Can't fit my General Lee CB into the 2017 cabinet - was hoping you'd have provided a better glimpse of what you've got in there; trying to balance a quality CB with the restrictive cabinet. Is the fridge, stock?
Love how he coughed after commenting on "no fumes". I hate re-latching the top bunk and im glad to see he struggled as well lol. Aint puttin no damn cooler under the bunk. Easy to lift when there's nothing on it. T680 needs interior overhaul. Shitty plastic latches on everything.
Hey Andy, one more question for you if I could, please. On the mid roof T680, is it possible to get a W990 sun-visor installed from the factory, or do we have to install an aftermarket one at the dealership level?
The factory doesn’t offer it. It’s only on the W990 at this time. Give it a few years and I’m sure the factory will offer it. Well I hope it does anyways b
Okay so I am just figuring out that the bed can be raised like that so easily.. how often are these made to be raised up/down? Can I access that storage area daily? Very excited to hook up an inverter now so I can use my hot plate and cook a steak occasionally
Hi Andy. Like the interior and exterior video of the T680 model. Kindly give us a full video tour of the new KW W990. Is it true that the truck has no trailer and truck parking break? More videos from you Andy. Many thanks.
Financing is a confusing and complicated discussion. Specific to each deal individually. So for that reason I won’t do a video on this. I would be happy to have a discussion in person on the topic though.
@@AndyTheKenworthGuy Tks Andy love your videos. Looks like June or July I will be looking at another truck. Not sure if it will be a W9 or 389 but I will definitely get ahold of you if it's a KW.
Still frustrated. Maybe I am just stupid. I see no difference in an 880 and a 680. I have heard everything is moving to a "one cab size" layout and that the only difference in trucks will be hoods, sleeper size and wheelbase. That means no more 900's. If that's the case good thing that automation is coming soon. A world without 900's is just too depressing to face. I am a sad KW guy today.
That sucks. Don’t be sad. The W900 is alive and well. Kenworth has a tradition of having a “common cab”. The W900, T800 T660/600 and C500 all had a common cab. The new trucks also have a common cab.
Andy Kenworth Guy, can you get the T680 in Glider Kit?? Have had to many PROBLEMS&SPENT WAY TO MUCH $$$$ on REPAIRS related to DPF&DEF!! Looking to try something NEW!! Thanks!!💯🇺🇸👍💰
Good question. It depends on fuel tank size but I would think 228 would be the shortest. However, 232 is ideal for van haul with the appropriate clearance.
Kenworths last quality sleeper came in the T700 the EGR had some problems but these new t680's are a step in the wrong direction for KW. I stopped by a dealer to check out the T680 and 4 of the cabnits would not latch closed after opening them. I walked away and have never looked back until today and it is the same as it was 4 years ago.......what happened to KW leading the pack as the Cadillac of the trucking world?! Sad. Really really sad to see especially since the PACCAR motor is practically a disposable motor. Just look at Truck Trader if there is a PACCAR motor it list $15k-$20k cheaper for a same milage Cummins. That is a huge setback for an owner op for resale.
@@AndyTheKenworthGuy No problem, I always look forward to seeing what's next as far as your videos goes. Looking forward to seeing and hearing your review and thoughts of the W990 once you have one on your lot.

Packard and Peter is the best truck ever build. I’m shocked how Freightliner still dominates the market.

Paccar needs to start making more HP ... As a O/O spec I would want something closer to the cum's 565 or 605 hp with a lot more gauges and a 18sp
I know. 510 is max for the Paccar but it is the highest rated hp engine in a 13 liter platform.

I read pete and kw went to disc brakes standard is this true also do you still offer 8 bag air ride systems
As for Kenworth we offer disc brakes standard but it is an option to delete. The 8 bag AG400 is an option too.
Ok

No. The gliders are not available with t680
Andy, Does Kenworth offer the Artic wrapped fuel lines like Peterbilt offers ?
Yup
Hey Andy, is this the smallest wheelbase you can get on the t680 with the 76in highrise with enough space for an apu?

Hey Andy, are the back wall storage cabinets and shelf available in the high roof sleeper instead of the upper bunk?
Nope. Only in the mid roof
The Kenworth Guy, that’s truly unfortunate. I do appreciate the response though. Keep banging out the great videos!
Just needed flowers and candles
A little ambiance. Hah
Price of trucks are way too high these days to justify the headaches. Low freight rates + high costs = driver shortage.
It’s challenging times for sure.
