It depends on what I’m trying to do. Often times we are just looking to quickly get a good idea of what the trajectory should be. In this case we won’t be shooting that far, only 400-600 meters, so the trajectory does have to be that precise. For these tasks I use Federal free ballistic calculator. If I need high precision and g7 ballistic coefficients I will use Hornady’s free app. I use free apps because I want to encourage students to follow what I’m doing and also down load the same apps quickly and easily.
