My Nokia C5 was dead in 2016. I know, I would never ever get this legend back again. Compact phones are gone now. I just wish Nokia makes this phone again.
This phone is my no1 best java phone... The feature on this phone is most java advance... The keypad is perfect.. and the multitask button is so helpful
I loved this phone when was in highschool 12 years back and played with it for 4 years. Loved those ngage games. Then I found it lying in junk induced in coma with swollen battery and it was there for past 8 years. I loved the nostalgia it braught so I decided to restore it. Spent 3k on battery, body and flex and man I love it. I'm thinking to dump my android and start using Nokia again as it's less simulating so I can focus my attention on real world instead of a screen.
i think phone of the decade 2000-2010 are goes to this phone... big & nice color screen, very comfortable keypad, best phone to enjoy any java apps/games, multitask button... it just a simple-compact phone. java apps (opera mini & mfacebook ) & games & music is my childhood on this phone
I'm going to buy this as soon as possible. I'm really tired of my Samsung Corby. It's really slow and laggy. So until I get the C5 I'm using a Nokia 5220, that is one of the best phones I have ever had. Btw, great review!

@93bendzsi Blinking message icon means that one of your message memory is full. If you had been using some other fone , specially S40, fone earlier, some of your SMS would have got stored in your SIM memory. Go to the Message function, go to options and select "show sim messages". Delete the SIM messages. The icon should disappear.
@macfanism My C5-00 doesn't reboot. I changed it from Dual Mode to UMTS, then to GSM, back to UMTS, and finally back to Dual Mode. Each time it found a network and didn't reboot.
My mom got one recently, as she wanted a simple phone. She gave me her BlackBerry Bold 9700, and she took a Nokia C5. I was quite surprised that this phone (Which looked like a cheap and simple little phone) was packed with many smart phone features, and it runs Symbian :O But still, my BlackBerry pwns it.
How long does it takes for phones to be considered 'obsolete' cause I don't want to go to a shop a few months later, asking for this phone and am told that is obsolete.

I´ve owned the Nokia C5 for over a year now. To start off with, I´m not happy about the phone. Some of the keys almost stopped working, which is VERY frustrating. Also the phone somehow went to the internet by itself, causing me a HUGE phone bill. The lack of Wi-fi is bad, because I´m used to using the internet off my Wi-fi. (Also, I´m mad at Nokia for upgrading the camera a small while ago from 3.2 to 5.)
I'm plannig to buy a c5, as I couldn'f find any other Nokia that was as smart and reliable as this (except Nokia 5630). For example e52 would be perfect for me, but most of the people having it say they have a lot of problems with it.
@stubistine well I'm totally agree with u, from time to time, nokia made some decisions for just to minimize the cost and make more profit, also the battery thing is not good as my E52 had 1500mAh battery, why not in C7? even E52 has transflective LCD which is way better in in direct sunlight too, but i can't see this feature in new models not even in E5, poor viewing angle is another minus point in latest mid-range models.
@pedalphile meh, this is a great review. look at the quality on the video. i can see hairsharp quality on 360p, so please people stop bullying around and leave this page if u don't like the vid.
Its viewing angle is bad because the TFT diplay it is low on nits and because is a TFT and not an LCD or even OLED the display is bad quality and is bad to read text in a backlit scenario
Hey there! I just want to ask. I have this phone but the one that has a 5MP camera. Can I upgrade my software version even if the upgrade is not available in our country? My software version is 071.003. I red in the nokia website that the current version is 071.005 but when I update my phone through ovi it says that I have the latest version. My phone has a low music volume compared to other phones and they said upgrading the software may fix it. Can someone help me? Thanks!

Nokia is improving the built quality of their phones. I just bought a 1280 (as a 2ndry phone) w/c is the cheapest nokia ever, and I'm surprised how well the built quality is.

i have this phone. the white one. it is great. very light. if you are fond of texting. this cellphone is great for you. the keypad is really easy to press. and oh, the camera is good too. :D

this phone is what we in portugal call a combat cellphone.....easy to work, simple, robust and cheap.....good......nokia made finally a good phone.
