because of Queen, I started to play guitar and it brought me to black and death metal, but still I am a Queen fan! Darkthrone are great! Check out Satyricon - Tied In Bronze Chains!

This track feels like a steamroller whose sole purpose seems to be destruction( even though I don't understand Norwegian), told through a shredded voice and orchestrated by screeching guitars and apocalyptic drums.
In the 80s, many bands emerged with this kind of vocals : Venom, Immortal, Bathory, Mayhem...

Yeah the norweghin black metal scene is epic: Mayhem, Darkthrone, Satyricon, Burzum, Emperor, Immortal. Have seen many of the band lives. Hellhammer´s, drummer of Mayhem, soundcheck was one of the most insane display of power I have heard so far in my life.

So we are in black metal territory already? All right then. So you've been to the vampiric/werewolf forests and I would like to take you to urban landscapes instead. Check Odraza "Twoja rzecz tez", "Najkrotsza z wiecznosci" or "Swit Opowiadaczy", It's a modern black metal with high quality production, it's a bit progressive and diverse and for me personally the best thing in black metal I've heard (alongside Mgła).

Poland has a very good metal scene, one of Europes best. But what emerged from Norweigh in late 80 and early 90 set the standard and still when it come to the autentic feeling, no other band has come close.

@@martinrolandAgree, the old black metal is good of course. I personally can't quite get behind bad production that was common in the early black metal. I don't enjoy listening to that even if the music is good. I know that for diehard fans that kind of production is even a positive aspect and they don't like the new approach but I'm on the other side here. Still - good music is good music and I love seeing people discovering metal and if they come with open mind like Rory here, they will find gold.

@@sir_micho I understand you opinion but I think the low budget production, both for sound and probably because they dident have any money. Who the f..... wanted to produce this? heheheh. I think that it made them go deep in the search for their roots. Which is nordic mysticism in some part and the Asa goods. For example that Burzum used Kittelsen paintings shows the straight line from the historic past until now. Maybe because Im from Sweden its easier to understand. Dont now but listeing to this with the paintings by Kittelsen it hits straight in to my soul. Its all about the light and even how dark it might seem there is light there!

It's about the atmosphere and the low quality production. I love this album.
