Ya know , you ALMOST think that is canned vocals, until they throw in some little something different and you realize it isn't. That it's truly a live vocal performance that sounds so close to the studio recording it's SICK ! Always the best !
Exactly. This live performance is comparable to the studio version and you don't find that often enough, mainly due to vocal changes singers understandably have to make due to a tired or overworked voice. There's none of that here and Loggins is amazing, as are his great band and backup singers. :)
From a time when only those who were truly the best at their craft were celebrated. These days anyone who can strum 3 chords and look a certain way can be on the radio and win a Grammy. Photoshop and autotune are king ...
Absolutely! I thought the same--but then, I'd seen Kenny and the band SO many times in the 70s and 80s that I DO remember, they sounded JUST like the albums. Brilliant freakin' musicians, for sure.
@@33MarciS also, plenty of singers do things in the studio they can't possibly replicate, just so the song sounds cool. So it just creates issues for them later on when they do a live performance.
Absolutely one of the best live perfomances ive seen in a while. Back in the day when people actually sung with no computer generated voices or overs. Straight up singing and playing. Nothing like it. Baby. Great video.
They don't make music like this anymore! The vocals are incredible! So crisp and clean. I believe I was 13 when it came out. Theme for Caddy Shack. Ironically, I was a caddy at 13 lol! Great song!
Since I was there AND am going to the Belly Up tonight to see him again! He was my neighbor on the beach. I helped move his gear out the house he shared w/Messina...loved him ever since.
Damn that sounds great! I've always wanted to see "K-Log" in concert, and now I just want to even more. Props to the man who wrote the movie soundtrack to the 80's.
Hey!!! We are STILL looking darned good!!! 60 is the new 40!!! Healthiest generation with the longest life expectancy of any previous generation. Heck....young guys are always check I g me out.....l LOVE their embarrassed little faces when they find out how old I am!!!!! POOR LIL' SWEETIES!!! LOOOOL!!! 😆😂😎
This is Quite Amazing this is at The Santa Barbara Bowl. My Former Hometown. I always use to see Kenny Loggins around town. I wish I wouldn't have gotten his autograph before I moved.
I got the thrill of my life getting to meet and shake hands with Kenny Loggins in Sonoma California. He was so kind and giving of himself, I knew he was in a hurry, he about to sing with Dave Mason yet He took the time to say hello and with the warmest smile. Very kind indeed.
@@erichjohnolsen ... It's a matter of record...there is no dispute about it to be found. Not to mention that Kenny Loggins has a loooong history of quality live performances....also with himself and Jim Messina. What's the matter, Erich? Are you having trouble actually listening to a live performance without any of that auto-tune shyt??? 😆
That’s the first time I’m heard this song. MTV about 1982. Of course, I paid more attention to the ladies. With Kenny Loggins, I realized then at age 10 that you didn’t have to be a beefcake or a hard rock n roller to get them to watch you. Never heard of the movie till I saw the CBS version around 1985.
I'm 43 and recently caught up with Caddyshack. It's been a real tough time for many, and horrible for many more. We need empathy more than ever, and to remember we're all in this together. Love will always win. This video and song is the perfect antidote to bad faith. Kenny, stay safe. Love to you and all dear to you. PS Kenny, I know this is awkward. Mainly for you because, you know, you're well off. Just wanted to say: my hips aren't what they used to be. The doctor says I can go futuristic. So, you know, whatever you can spare will be great seeing as your songs keep getting me swinging about the place. Humbly yours, Andrew. A check is fine.
Kenny is the man. Period. I got into music because of stuff like this. Now look at music. It is ran by a bunch of Belmont grads that see music not hear music. I really really really hate radio. They were the ones to truly ruin music for all of us. I write/play and sing in Nashville Tennessee. We actually think when we sit down to write a song. "What will get on radio", and "don't go over the top of the publics heads". What a sad sad state of affairs we are in where we cannot write to our ability
Kenny has such a talented band back in the day... His back up vocals were so recognizable RIP George Hawkins Jr (Bass & Vocals) ... Californian to the core!!
Kenny Loggins kicks ass! The king of 80's soundtracks! Caddyshack, Top Gun, Footloose, Over The Top, Rocky IV...this guy is the ultimate bearded badass with a guitar!
I remember hearing this exact concert from the hills above it, echoing around the canyon. Some of their songs were so densely constructed it felt like there were five different songs within. Girls in dolphin shorts helped them achieve this of course.
Right on, entertainment I so miss. Oh where did these days go, rocking out hard, rocking lyrics, power, energy, tough cool days of wonder and amazement that led to the finest world we engaged.
Thanks so much for posting this. I remember this concert was available for rent from Blockbuster years back on VHS. This is my favorite Kenny Loggins song. This was back when rock and roll was still on the radio, and American Idol wasn't on the air. Ah, the good ole days.
Me too ! I just listened to “The EAGLES “ sing some of their oldies in concert. “ I can’t tell you why” “ You belong to the city” “ One Of These Nights “ and many others ! Brings back the “ good ole days” ! 😋
Wiki tells me Kenny wrote this song on his own...I find it hard to believe, but nothing tells me other. Im gonna have to say Kenny along with the others are without a doubt a part of "one" of the most amazing american song writers ever. Truly remarkable.
I was watching Kevin Bacon dance to footloose and thought I'd rather WATCH Kenny play music.... yo! click if you prefer live music! ♥♥♥ this guy 'brings it' every time... nice job Kenny! luv yer stuff ♥
THIS is one of the MANY reasons that so many people wish the 80's would happen again!!!
:-D
you got that right
I love the part when , I'm done talking yet . things to say
Yes!! Haha
I hated the 90's and 2000's 70's and 80's forever
The women!
Talent. Something most new artists lack.

So great to see a live performance without cell phones sticking up from the crowd.
And no tattoos.
haa you're so correct.. though if there were ever an experience that you would definitely wanna re-live over and over via cell.. :D
Modern cell-phones emerged in the 1980's. Now wonderphones are hand computers.
@@raymondfrye5017 you get my point. the handheld computers with huge photographic capabilities weren't around then.

the beginning of a great music decade
why were singers from the past so awesome lol
