I’m sure Pateron and others here already told you all this 😅, but you HAVE to react to the documentary about the making of My Universe. The official acoustic version where the harmonies are to die for is also incredibly. The live version they did at the Apollo Theater and Coldplay posted on their RUclips channel is my favourite! They also sang it live together at the AMA’s but the sound and camera direction on that one wasn’t the best… damn you AMA!
I was the same with Coldplay! my first song was Yellow and I adored them as a kid and to see how far they've come now is insane and when this collab dropped the timeline was CRAZY , I'm so glad my reaction is there when my universe came out hehehe
Despite being a Brit, I'd never really listened to Coldplay, but I heard this song, along with Jin's The Astronaut, and as an (at the time Baby Army) was pulled into a Coldplay rabbit hole thanks entirely to BTS. 💜
When I saw BTS in concert in Los Angeles (2021), after the last song, Chris Martin came out as a surprise and they did this song together. It was amazing! The crowd went absolutely bananas!!
You need to watch the BTS X Coldplay documentary !! You will get to hear their raw vocals and also how they made this possible !! They performed it live on AMA 2021 and also in one of their PTD concerts (I Don't exactly remember which one) Coldplay really respects and love BTS so much and Jin is a Huge Coldplay fan that Chris martin even gave him his guitar !! You must really watch their behind the scenes interactions....they are so Wholesome !!
Funny you posted this on the 3 Year anniversary of when they finally got to perform the song together live on the AMAs. The friendship between BTS & Coldplay really is special how BTS really looks up to them as a group that has a longevity with a worldwide appeal that they want to continue to have themselves. Between this & Chris gifting the song The Astronaut to Jin so he had something to release before leaving for service the future collab potential between them is endless.
Two fun facts: - The Silencers' spaceship is inspired by the shape of the Corona virus (!) - If you separate the voices you'll hear that Jin actually duets with Chris on parts of the song but their voices sound very alike on it. You can juuust make out the sharpness of Jin's vocals here and there and it really makes a difference. 💜
