Did this episode hit extra hard for anyone else? 🥺 Seeing Pioran deteriorate like that over time hurt so much. Honestly reminded me of my Nana after she was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She would have her moments of clarity, only to become agitated and extremely confused as to where she was (who she was with, etc).
During an interview, Yoshitoki (the author) said she came up with the name once she learned her grandma may die (she was ill). Anyway, hence one of the reasons this work reflects so much about the ideas of life and death.
I was crying during half of the episode already knowing what would happen and seeing Pioran like that didn't help at all. There was a part in the opening that showed her young form but I didn't know it was her. In the opening, while she walks in the beach in her young form, you can see flashes of scenes of the anime from her PoV, like Fushi and Gugu's brother telling her that Gugu died. Such an amazing work done in this whole project. Pioran was my 2nd favorite after Gugu.
When I try to convince people to watch this I tell them the show’s plot is the meaning of life and then some. It’s the greatest original story of all time and we are blessed to see if in animation. It is a written masterpiece in motion
And here i thought that Gugu's death would have been the saddest for me, but the last episode just slapped me with tears. As she was slowly losing herself to the dementia, she used what little focus she had left to ask for a request to help her grandson in whatever form suited him best even if it meant that her current soul would vanish from existence and that she would not be able to go to paradise like all the others. Such nobility is hard to find in anime characters these days. This anime really made some memorable and loving characters that you can't help but feel attached to.
Pioran was absolutely a well written character...having lost all and once given fushi as a child to look after.... and she did well.... the plot in this anime is just too good yh...😊
She is such a great person, in that scroll Fushi wrote in, she had such a supportive massage for him, and instead of saying goodbye she wants him to have fun and dream big ! I love Pioran and I certainly will miss her a lot :')
This anime was an amazing Journey and touched my heart when I didn't believe it could. Truly a masterpiece and its great that its getting a S2 like it so rightfully deserves 👏
To think that at first Pioran looked like an unremarkable side character who would only appear once or twice, never to be remembered again, only to end up becoming one of the most important people in Fushi's life.
i will cry for pioran every time i remember her, i love her so much and her meaning to fushi is the same as my grandma for me, so it hurted a lot. thank you, fumetsu, for teaching us the real meaning of the eternity and the life.
I don't know why I tear up so bad whenever I see the scene of her touching the orb and then her body flashed into all of her ages then takes her in...... I love this show so much
I like Pioran and the Beholder's interaction. She's not afraid of him, she's just a badass old woman looking out for her "grandchild", and the Beholder agrees to her wish to help out his "child".
This show was one of the few anime’s to make me feel genuine grief for a character. The storytelling and animation are so beautiful it makes you connect even deeper with the character
I remember thinking after seeing pioran for the 1st team that she will probably be in the anime for 1 or 2 episodes, who thought she will stay the longest with Fushi. May she rest in peace
So did anyone else wonder if the Creator did this before when Fushi was sent to earth as an Orb? Was he a reincarnated person like Pioran is about to be?
nope, it's not. The beholder (black man) created fushi with the intention of preserving the things of the planet, while pioran asked him to become something useful for fushi. So for him, making pioran something else would have been a win/win, so he though "ehe, why not" and she was reincarnated, you'll see in season 2 tho

Everyone else’s death did make me teary eyed but the first nameless boy was the saddest one I cried for a good 5 minutes and couldn’t get him out of mind for a while
Yeah he doesn’t even have a name that’s so sadddd… but he at least went to paradise
@@fsmithh but also I’ve noticed every few characters that have died he still uses gugu for fire the nameless boy is his main form match because she’s agile peronna reflexes an certain animals so there not forgotten
Damn this Jigen and his Space-Time jutsu
LOL
Heh I just call him Jigen all the time cuz THE BLACK THING is not that good of a name
Thought I recognised that VA...
@@hoplite723 Not only that, the appearance is similar too.
@@викторавилов-ь8х his actual name is The Beholder
I'm at a point where I have been trying to find my own purpose, something to drive me to keep pushing and living despite, the sorrow, discrimination, violence, and apathy in the world. I'm really happy I watched this show. I may not be on a set path yet, but it reminded me of the strength I can gain from others along the way.
Even in the darkest world there is always something to live for. Find whatever that is and go from there and keep living the best life you can.
I'm sure your purpose is greater then you know be strong it may seem dark but after the light will outshine any sadness or negativity and there is so much to live for and see sometimes because of the chaos that surrounds us we can see the simple beauty life is precious and should not be taken for granted keep your head up make lots of friend's and amazing memories it's never to late
Pioran left us a great lesson
Do what your heart desires and live freely without a purpose! Thats a way of life too, tbh
The journey is what matters, not the destination
Bless you.
I cried through the entire episode😢😢😢 truly a masterpiece
There was a part in the opening that showed her young form but I didn't know it was her. In the opening, while she walks in the beach in her young form, you can see flashes of scenes of the anime from her PoV, like Fushi and Gugu's brother telling her that Gugu died. Such an amazing work done in this whole project. Pioran was my 2nd favorite after Gugu.
This whole episode made me cry and I am still sad
When I try to convince people to watch this I tell them the show’s plot is the meaning of life and then some. It’s the greatest original story of all time and we are blessed to see if in animation. It is a written masterpiece in motion
This series is just so beautiful with well crafted message's. Best anime of 2021
the soundtrack of trumpets made this 100x more emotional. A true masterpiece. I haven't cried my eyes out this hard in a long time.
Name of ost?
The ost, voice acting and emotions make this scene so incredible. Can't wait for season 2.
For those who wanna know, she reincarnated as the horse fushi gets in season 2 :)
and didn't help much tbh xD
@@tantumverde5256It helped enough.
Instead of moving on, Pioran chose to be reincarnated so she could help her loved ones here on Earth. A truly selfless act.
Pioran was absolutely a well written character...having lost all and once given fushi as a child to look after.... and she did well.... the plot in this anime is just too good yh...😊
Fushi: Are you a demon?
Me: I think he is a good but I think he's a fallen spiritual being.
I think he is a grim reaper or something like that
Or a fallen "angel" that wants to protect the humans
@@winderwind8489 The reaper only takes lives & the white & black beings create life & stuff. He is more like a god with his abilities.
@@winderwind8489 yeah I think so too because it’s normally reapers who don’t get involved in anything they just observe
Seeing everyone loving this story sure gives me anxiety about the feedback that it'll receive once modern era starts...
hopefully if the pacing is slightly better it wont get as much negative feedback lol
can't wait for the modern era, actually. Fushi would gain much knowledge & nokkers must be more intricate
no yeah because the new arc sucks
I've only read about 40 chapters past where this left off and not impressed at all so far :(
@@slayeralchemist the arc before modern era is even tolerable, personally I like the characters, but after that..? Kinda boring
The beholder is a perfect example of someone who's really tired of his job.
The sad thing about Pioran is that she not only died but vanished from existence. At least the other characters go to the Paradise unlike Pioran 😢😤
berserk is the best piece of fiction
She is such a great person, in that scroll Fushi wrote in, she had such a supportive massage for him, and instead of saying goodbye she wants him to have fun and dream big ! I love Pioran and I certainly will miss her a lot :')

I'll come for you before you're taken by paradise... Bro that line I can't find a word
This is more than an anime for me it's a life lesson that teaches me how painfully life is .
Wow... I expected to cry, but seeing his grandmother ask to become a form that would be more useful for him, and dying with a smile, itai🥲
Lord… this hurt me just as much when we lost Gugu. I loved her so much and the fact that she’s gone… Just MHHHHH 😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔
This anime was an amazing Journey and touched my heart when I didn't believe it could. Truly a masterpiece and its great that its getting a S2 like it so rightfully deserves 👏
This episode made me tear up.
To think that at first Pioran looked like an unremarkable side character who would only appear once or twice, never to be remembered again, only to end up becoming one of the most important people in Fushi's life.
i cried so much on this episode, can’t wait for more tears on s2 TT
the soundtrack continues to give me chills. the scene itself isn't even making me wanna cry. the music in this show was so good man.
She really cares for him 😥
Such a beautiful scene, RIP my girl Pioran.
Watching Pioran lose her mind with old age hurts. I've witnessed it before with my grandparents
This whole series has made me cry everytime so far
Masterpiece of an anime😢
This show is easily one of my top 5 I've not been emotionally invested in a show in a long time like this has..I havent had a good cry in awhile
Honestly anime of the year! It’s been a while since I gotten this excited for an anime! Beautiful ☺️
i will cry for pioran every time i remember her, i love her so much and her meaning to fushi is the same as my grandma for me, so it hurted a lot. thank you, fumetsu, for teaching us the real meaning of the eternity and the life.
I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again. Underrated. A masterpiece so far.
I don't know why I tear up so bad whenever I see the scene of her touching the orb and then her body flashed into all of her ages then takes her in...... I love this show so much
when they showed the young pioran aka the misterious girl in the op i cried so much
I like Pioran and the Beholder's interaction. She's not afraid of him, she's just a badass old woman looking out for her "grandchild", and the Beholder agrees to her wish to help out his "child".
I didn’t expected a death to make me cry more than the march one
Wait for march's second death
@@efran202 *NANI* 😧
R.I.P piora, this is one of the most beautiful incarnations of anime
Let's hope this anime won't be forgotten like other animes with 1 season only 😭
Season 2 has already been confirmed so, how will it be forgotten?
The soundrack in this anime is something else
2022 is gonna be such a good year for anime
This show was one of the few anime’s to make me feel genuine grief for a character. The storytelling and animation are so beautiful it makes you connect even deeper with the character
I knew this was coming and I still sobbed loudly in my college dorm.
I don't think anything I've watched has made me cry as much as this.
Fushi oldest friend 😭😭😭
I remember thinking after seeing pioran for the 1st team that she will probably be in the anime for 1 or 2 episodes, who thought she will stay the longest with Fushi. May she rest in peace
one of the best endings ever
There is too much dust in my room, I can't read what's happening, my eyes are full of water
I love this ost
this scene made me so damn emotional. Just seeing pioran how she wants to be before she dies really got to me.
So did anyone else wonder if the Creator did this before when Fushi was sent to earth as an Orb? Was he a reincarnated person like Pioran is about to be?
That's what i thought too.
It's like they are preserving the world through entity orbs like fushi
Nah. Thats all i'll say
nope, it's not. The beholder (black man) created fushi with the intention of preserving the things of the planet, while pioran asked him to become something useful for fushi. So for him, making pioran something else would have been a win/win, so he though "ehe, why not" and she was reincarnated, you'll see in season 2 tho
@@lucataranto6553 you know, you could just let him find out for himself when season 2 comes.
im more wondering did Pioran choose her old granny form instead of her young one?
the old form is what went into the orb
I came across this anime by accident and no wonder best things happen in life unplanned! Love this anime and this scene❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I feel the real sad thing is that he said "before you're taken by paradise" which means she did enough good to go paradise rather than hell
Pioran has to be my favorite character. Such a fun grandma. We love you Pioran ❤️
damn, pioran was hot back in the day, also r.i.p the goat pioran... this anime is just so emotional
I had to call my grandmother and check on her who lives alone after seeing this, first time an anime hit me so hard enough to cry
Great great 20 episode run !!! Now I have to find something to watch after work on mondays 😭
Tsuda Kenjiro's voice with that bgm, my god 10/10.
Best episode ever and I will be waiting for S2 next year and I am everyone remember this anime. Also poor handsome man that helped that psycho warrior woman when she was injured and she forcefully violated him because he was the nearest male on the island and he was so kind to her no matter how she looks. Why are kind minor extra character treated wrongly, it is not right. 💕💕💕💕💕😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
When did this happen
@@armandovazquez3211 it happened in this episode. It was on a beach. I think in the middle of the episode.

Wow! Pioran wasn't kidding, she does look beautiful.😊
This anime is one of thee best anime I have ever watched, try to change my mind
