Great thing about darts, no matter who is playing if they're throwing good the crowd will back them, when someone is on a 9 darter there isn't a person in the room that doesn't want to see it including their opponent. Best crowd in any sport.

Wow I thought I was the only one who knew this hahaha. No lie I just started watching darts on RUclips the past few months after I put up my dart board. This is must watch, I’m telling you. Its electric. The U.K. crowd goes berserk, it’s incredible. Its like a big party and the audience chants and sings to ever song. I’ve never seen anything like it. The way the announcer says ONE HUNNNDREDDD AND EIIIGHTYYY is the best. I already have certain dart players I like to watch but Luke “The Nuke” Littler has been my instant favorite from first watch.

Don't see it catching on. I have only been wrong once on a Game Industry prediction. It's funny. I was asked if the "Barbie Water Race game" was a good investment. I said No. It was to loud and too much maintenance. The game only lasted 5 seconds paid out minimal prize tickets and took no skill. Turns out kids 8 and under LOVED IT. They just pumped the money into it and parents would give them more to shut them up, lol.
I went to industry trade shows and would predict 100% which games were worth the investment. In fact I predicted 3 month, 6 month and 1 year earning and the game resell value for the same periods. I was always right. I would evaluate every single piece at the show even the oddities. CAPCOM Loved me.

Dart leagues are most often played in the U. S., in bars where you can eat drink and have fun. It's definitely on the rise. 17,000,000 dart players in the U. S. say you're wrong. That's 5 times the number of hockey players.

I am a HUGE PDC darts fan and feel it should be noted that most all players with a tour card who are not top 16 ranked are working full or part time jobs as an income.
So, the goal obviously is that all tour card holders are paid and taken care of not needing to work outside of being a professional darts player. Hopefully that changes soon!

Cheap to produce, can charge audience to attend, and drink, gets big ratings. The reason pool can't do this is because the games played rarely encourage impressive (to view) shot making. With a changed rule set for pool, it could become far more spectacular. Matchroom also dominates pool, but 9-ball is mostly a breaking competition, as is 8-ball and 10-ball formats, hence the only highlights are jump shots which are mostly 50-50 jags. They avoid hard pots for safety 95% of the time. Darts forces players to GO FOR IT in 90% of set endings.

There’s a reason Efren Reyes is a lot of peoples GOAT in pool, because he would go for it. There are more players out there now that are better than Reyes, but they stick to the script and focus on getting a win - that’s the only downside of Matchroom’s Tour - needs to be more exhibitions from Matchroom to grab people’s interests.

Boxing is very often underwhelming. The best guys fight once or twice a year. So many negotiations, so many years of building up a record and reputation and protecting the record etc. you could have 6 months of “hype” for a fight and it could be a snooze fest.
In darts like in other sports, the best play the best every week. Same top players playing every week. Darts is never boring as well. Once you appreciate how hard it is and how good these guys are, there’s nothing better, set play or leg play, anything can happen and it’s always exciting. Big momentum swings and pure action. Especially now with littler, the world championship last year was electric. The world champs are just set up and structured so well, so many matched each night and every night for weeks. Straight knockout set play. You feel like you’re a part of the action following from the start, littler was happy to win his first match at 16 years old, so for him to make it to the final dominating everybody was like nothing ever before. The whole country was behind him for the final. I don’t think anything can compare. No BS drama or transfers or hype. All these other sports rely on all that stuff to keep people intrigued, all these sports news channels and rumours and media work. Darts doesn’t need any of that, it’s just pure electric competition.
