sounds sorta selfish when put that way lol. should add the father said "i need a wife, and you need a mother" made lydia feel like her father was moving way too fast and just trying to replace her mom. lydia also tried explaining that there are ghosts in that house, and if that's the case, her mom may still be back at their old house, but the father ignored her.

I love the twist on "making a deal with the devil" with this story. Where the human is the one who's clever, and the deamon is the one who's more naive.

I personally don’t like that animatic because it is an OC animatic and id prefer the animatic to be about beetlejuice
It's actually a rather interesting contrast with this one.. it's all the same lyrics and same voices but in that one Lydia seems annoyed by Beetlejuice, whereas in the animatic in this video she seems to enjoy his company.

She doesnt want to kill her father.She wants him to understand her and her sadness because he grieves in a different way.He cant deal with it so he tries to repress the emotions and hide them and forget her mother's death.He simply hides from the situation.He doesnt talk about it.She loves her father.He is absoluely protective and loves his daughter they just grieve so much differently and she doesnt understand why he wont talk to her about it.Why he has fallen in love again with Delia.
She doesnt want to kill him.She wants her caring father back who she can talk to about her feelings to.
First time I heard this song (the first Beetlejuice song I heard) it was the one by Chi With A C and I was confused because if you watched their video, you know she faced a different direction for all the characters so not only did I not know what was happening, I also was confused who was who lmao 😂

It's not that she WANTS to be a ghost, she has two ghosts standing a few feet away, that's why she "doesn't need" Betelgeuse.
also, just a side note for later songs, if you say beetlejuices name 3 times he can be seen but still cannot go out. So in creepy old guy Beetlejuice isn’t romantically attracted to Lydia but he can be human if a living person marries him. So it’s a “ green card thing “.

In case you were wondering the style of singing you were talking about at the end is called head voice it allows you to sing very high notes while still using more of your chest voice. So kinda a mixture of chest and falsetto.
