Marcus Oconnor - The 3.4 CFR is the new estimate released by a Chinese agency (3.5 in Italy), not based on US numbers. Obviously, 11 deaths out of 100-something cases wouldn’t be 3.4 , in any case. But you’re correct to say that there’s no way we can have an accurate case fatality number yet; we won’t know the true number until some time *after* the outbreak has passed.

You're kidding, right? No doubt the reason the test kits were recalled is because there was a fight among pharmaceutical companies as to which one would get the contract to supply them. Testing will come at a high price, especially for people with no insurance and if hospital beds are scarce, those without insurance will be sent home to die. People who miss work will lose their jobs and their tenuous grasp on middle class life will slip away. Our government doesn't care about people, it only caresW about profits, and poor, desperate people work cheap. For the 1% this is not a problem, it's a solution and an opportunity. We're screwed.

My guess is that the the severely dysfunctional DJT administration is actually going to be seen as the greater threat to the Nations health (vs the virus) after the crisis has finally passed. we have a political crisis on top of a health crisis, and that's a very bad combination.....a "perfect storm" of sorts.

If this is a population reset a lack of avail testing could be intentional . The purpose of the possible reset could be to ease the burden on long term health care and social support pay outs . The retired and those who who have medical conditions could be viewed as a drain on the economy . The POTUS stated that many people who have contracted the virus have treated it on thier own and go to work .

  • @leroyrodgers6089
    @leroyrodgers6089 4 года назад

Take this for what you will, I noticed yesterday that South Korea's numbers and The Diamond Disaster both have extremely low mortality rates. Whats even more interesting is that out of all the countries we can safely say that South Korea has tested the most aggressively for this virus and the Cruise ship obviously tested everyone (I hope). If that's true than the numbers from those two places are the most accurate we have. So those numbers look like this:
    7289 Cases
49 Deaths - Extemely low percentace at 0.6%. This can and will go up as the cases become more severe and potentially critical. But still very low. The Diamond Princess is an isolated situation and we can take those numbers at face value.
    347 Recovered
89 Severe/Critical condition - Definitely expect these to rise, however if you think of your city or country, if you had 7000 cases (Which was the actual number, not a terrible estimate like in the US) Could your hospital handle it? This is another reason why Chinas numbers are a complete joke, they had millions of people infected with this thing.
I hope to god that this is true. I know a lot of places are starting to test more now, but the numbers originally were self selecting themselves because the sicker people were going to the hospital. We need to test not just the sick, but the healthy as well to get the full spectrum of this thing and know who has it so we can stop the spread. Just testing the sick gives people a false sense of security and it creates even more panic when suddenly someone dies when your country had like 5 cases lol. So, we need to ramp up testing like South Korea. It'll empower people with more knowledge.

SOME TIMES THE NEWS ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL LIKE im l'm NOT LIVINGIN THE SAME CHINA AS REPORTEDwelll'm living in a city with 8 million population in northern China, basical everything is getting back on track. And the survival rateis pretty high in provinces other than HuBei.There are 217 patients recorded, 130 of
them are already discharged from hospital.under the lockfown metro police was delivering groceries and packages for us. So here the government was doing pretty good. At the first the hubei government was not acting good enough and thats true, they tried to cover things because they don't want to get blamed by central government, but now the number of national current inpatients has declined byabout more than 60 percent. employeesare getting back to work, students arepreparing to begin their semester, some provinces have already made certain announcement about this. In provinces like Zhejiang there's only1 deaths in over1000 patients. And there haven't been any new diagnosed patients in majority of cities for days.
All of the regions have restrictions about masks and traveling, and it's free treatment for all citizens.
Hubei gov deserves critism for the bad start, but according to my relatives in CDC and hospitals, the data is reliable and things are getting BETTER. I don't make much comments but some people are not thinking AT ALL. United people can defeat the virus, not ones who only know how to point fingers.

We do not have enough doctors/nurses/hospitals to deal with this. People in USA who have no health coverage will keep going to work even if they have symptoms. No one will ask to be tested if they have a mild case because they are living paycheck to paycheck and can not stay home in quarantine. Also people with low level jobs will lose their jobs if they stay home.Fast food for example, meaning you will have loads of fast food workers spreading this to the rest of the population.Testing people who are very ill will not help contain the spread as they have already spread it to others. No one has released the stats by age group. I want to know how many people died and what their ages were.Have kids died from this? No one will say. Will teenagers who have vaped be more susceptible? The CDC is just trying to cover it's ass.

I live in Lynnwood, WA (Snohomish County) which lies between Seattle (15 min to DT Seattle) and 7 min from Everett. Kirkland is about 20 min away. My daughter and her family live in Shoreline, WA (King County) which is where they're doing the testing, may house Covid-19 patients (by the testing facility) and about 10 min from Kirkland. In other words, this is directly in our areas and the "Social distancing measures" this man is talking about are "recommendations" for the population. That's it. "Recommendations." The other day they had over 45k people at soccer game. I saw several people who were interviewed and they said "We're doing everything we can. We're washing our hands. Go Sounder's!" Are you kidding? Sitting shoulder to shoulder with over 45k cramped together is NOT doing "Everything we can." What really made me sick is a lot of parents brought their kids. Okay. There is a known killer virus in our area and you're openly risking the lives of your children for a soccer game? That's disgusting. Currently, there is 1 known case of a teen with Covid-19 (not hospitalized at this point) and 2 - 20 year old's who are in the hospital. 1 school with a confirmed high school kid was closed and cleaned for 3 days but schools here are NOT shutting down. There is a known outbreak in this area and they're not shutting schools down. People here are VERY active and most won't practice "social distancing." Not until people start dropping dead. As the soccer goers stated "I have to live my life." Even my daughter, who is an RN and is keeping track of this is concerned - but still going out with groups of friends and traveling with her husband and kids. Not good. A lot of people here will get it.

To build a makeshift white room with negative pressure out of any building. Place a barn fan in a doorway or window facing out. Have it blow thru either a micro filter, bleach spray bath or antibiotic spray bath, low speed is best, just a whisper. You'll have to build a simple housing and spray unit. Tape off all other seams in the building except the fire exits. When a door is open the air comes in to be expelled at the fan, thru the wash or filter. This build takes about 4 hours. Can be done in any community. It could be done in key facilities like power and water plants with a positive pressure set up drawing in thru a filter. To keep the virus out.

Wouldn't it also be true that we don't really know the denominator for the flu either? Many people have the flu and it isn't recorded anywhere. So the number of deaths from the flu is the numerator for an unknow denominator. We use the numbers we know and we come up with a fatality rate for the flu of .1% and so it is with SARS CoV-2. There will also be people with it that aren't counted but I'm not sure why so many assume the number to be lower than 3% or so just because we can't count everyone with it. The true denominator is always unknown.

IMO, if the US health authorities have decided to test and investigate (in the Year 2019) on the sudden increase of those thousands of cases of deaths caused by pneumonia...then I think the US health authorities would be able to discover that some of those cases of deaths were caused by COVID-19 (and not caused by the seasonal common flu at all)..... and consequently, the US health authorities could take the necessary preventive steps to contain the virus in US as well as to alert and warn other nations (outside US) to better prepared for this new infectious disease.
And now, to my surprise, I understand that testing is still optional and that US health authorities are not going to disclose the numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases to the public at large and to the world.
I wonder what's the reason to return back to square one again wherein everyone is expected to conveniently consider "all cases" as seasonal flu. Is it right to say "don't worry, it's just a flu".
What will happen if all countries adopt the US' approach (of no accountability, transparency as well as no differentiation between a seasonal flu and COVID-19)?
No one knows which part of a country (or which country) one should avoid.... and I wonder how can WHO monitor the situation and furnish information and advices to various nations.
