Yeayyyyy! hi Andrea, I was on RUclips search and yes I heard the notification sound and looked at it... yessssssss here is Andrea with a sew inspiration Again! and just what I wanted to make. a faux leather project. and my eldest daughter was asking me for a wallet. here it is .. Andrea is here to give me easy n quick to make solution, now for my US friends hope things will cool down shortly and peace be upon their hearts.
I agree Tina. Being I've used my voice to earn a living for over 30 years I'd hope I'm a good judge of voices. From her voice she sounds so sweet, a good kind caring person. Love the video too. ☺
Thankyou so much Andrea for a great video, love the way you really explaine every detail. Look forward to making one of these. Thankyou from Jo in the UK 😊
I would extra-top-stitch it around the corners with the length 5.0 and extra-strong thread, say 80, so it won't look like a pillow. And it seems that the lid is too short. Better would be if the lid would be long enough so the button is installed on the opposite edge. And for that size in Europe we would be calling it a bag... :-)
I usually add such thick thread top-stitch around, because it seriously flattens the whole thing, making it much better to handle, and you get additionally very cool looking "leatherwork", although in your case it is a faux leather (but still OK!). For that I'd recommend to go with 100/16 cutting point needle.
Thanks as always a great tutorial. I do have a question I noticed you didn’t put in a bill slot and I wasn’t clear what size the slots for the cards were? When in need of the wonder clips I’ve used paper clips . Thanks again
I do wish there was a bill slot on this design. It was one of my earlier tutorials. I am currently working on a new wallet design that will have a bill slot. The card slots are sized to fit a standard credit card / business card.
I used a credit card and made the folds 2 inches deep and it matched up at the end where it was supposed to, but the whole thing ended up being 15" instead of 13. Not sure how that is possible. Also, I use small clothes pins for clips.
Hi Andrea! Here is Annie from Germany. I love your tutorial. Thanks for sharing! =) However, I don't understand in which distances I have to fold the section where the credit slips are. I am looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks in advance and greetings from around the globe. =)
Hello Annie! I can definitely see how that part would be confusing. The easiest thing to do would be for you to use a credit card to fold and size the depth of the pockets to fit rather than trying to measure out a specific distance. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need more info! Happy sewing, Andrea
Thanks for your video! I had the same problem!! when you say mark at 10 inch and fold its not clear how deep to fold... can you explain maybe all the lines you need to mark and then explain- fold the second line to the first line etc... or any other way to understand better how deep it should fold...
And one more thing: please never ever pin the leather or faux leather, as it leaves holes in the project. Use metallic office clamps instead, they are working perfectly for this (they are very strong, typically harder than usual fabric plastic clamps). The only cautious part is when you're sewing, they (clamps) can stuck with the edge of the machine/table and ruin the rhythm of the top stitch, because the feed dog will fail to pull the fabric on time. To avoid that, pay attention while stitching and lift the fabric so the clamp wont catch the corner of your free hand/table/etc. Happy sewing!
Its a nice project that I would like to follow. But you skip the mesuring of the folds after the zipper. You mesure 10", but you fold the fabric under how many inches? Than the lines for the credit cards? You lost me...
I saw someone else commented this 3 years ago and you never bothered to fixed it. These instructions are impossible to follow when you dont give the measurement for every fold. I wish i had read the comments more thoroughly before attempting this. I just wasted time and materials. You can easily edit this video to add even some text in the beginning to check the description for corrections and add it to your measurements.
This is excellent Andrea! I love the continuous cut..way less time consuming!!
Thanks Melinda! It does make it so easy! Happy sewing!

Cute wallet. Did you get the other video done yet with a place for bills?(money)?
Not yet Tina...I will add that to our line up. Thank you for reminding me!

looks very quick and easy but no pockets to put bills in
Yeah...still working on a better design...
Awesome
Thanks Tonya! I don't love this design and am hoping to create a better wallet tutorial very soon using the cork fabric.
Hi Andrea, what size needle did you use? Thx for the wallet tutorial 👍🏽😍
Hello! I use a 90/14 needle. Happy sewing!
I couldnt work out the 13 inches and 13inches and 13 inches and those are the credit card things I was lost after that so have given up
so sorry I lost you ... I hope we can rework this design!
@@Sewspire I have a brain injury so its not you I find things hard to follow sometimes usually videos are the better way just not always
HI i just discovered your channel. Do you sell these on your etsy shop? I'd like to buy one!
No, sorry
Did you make that pin cushion?
No; but, I do love finding fun pin cushions.
Hi Andrea, Could you help us make a man wallet.
I just made this with cork fabric instead of faux leather. It came out well but I was disappointed that there was no place for dollar bills.
Love the idea of working with cork and totally agree there needs to put a place for dollar bills. I am working on a much better wallet tutorial now.
Oh that's fabulous! I'm sure you'll come up with a great wallet. I can't wait to see what you will design!
Thank you for your enthusiasm! I do enjoy the design process.
Can you use vinyl? I have a beautiful faux tooled grey!
That sounds amazing!
Where did you buy your wallet snap closures?
Hi Tina! I order from snapsource.com
Do you mind telling me what size would I need for this project please? I Noticed they have a lot of sizes! Thanks for your prompt consideration.
I order the largest size...believe it is 22.
Its a nice project that I would like to follow. But you skip the mesuring of the folds after the zipper. You mesure 10", but you fold the fabric under how many inches? Than the lines for the credit cards? You lost me...
So sorry! I will review and see if edits are possible.
What can I do to.prevent the bird nesting that is happening.. I changed needle and bobbin and its.still.doing it
What is bird nesting?
@@Sewspire when the thread bunches up on the bottom while your sewing
