I think not for me the next Trillion Dollar economy for the next decades would be Vietnam and Philippines there manufacturing are very high, high GDP growth, high tourism volume, high service sector, high HDI and High percapita than Bangladesh and just almost half of Bangladesh total population with very developed and organized cities unlike Bangladesh still looks absolutely madness, polluted , crowded, small flat country with poor cities.

Indira gandhi was in huge pressure to handle Bangladeshi refugees, after independence they managed to send them back. However a lot of Hindu population did not move back to Bangladesh.
Also India did not want to be surrounded by Pakistan from all sides.
Today, Bangladesh is a 10 billion dollar market for Indian goods, and they earn billions more in tourism. Bangladeshi tourists make up the 2nd largest group of tourists in India. They spend in transport, hotel, restaurants, shopping and all the sectors.
So, it was for India's own good.

Few people are happy anywhere in the world as the growth in GDP tends to go to the rich especially here in the West. In the USA, the average working person is worse off than they were 45 years ago in spite of massive GDP growth whilst the number of billionaires has exploded. The cost of living crisis in Europe over the last two and a half years due to the Ukraine War is pushing politics to the Far Right. It’s not only the governments duty, but the population, the general public in Bangladesh 🇧🇩, seriously need to work on hygiene and keeping their community, neighbourhoods clean, especially the streets and green areas, where it has a major impact on the environment and nature. Why aren’t the shop keepers, restaurant owners, taxed or penalised for rubbish that is left outside their shops and stores. Why aren’t the local leaders penalised, for not keeping their cities clean, making sure rubbish collections are regular and disposed asap. Why doesn’t the media in Bangladesh, promote hygiene, cleaner streets, looking after the environment and local communities. Many RUclips bloggers have visited Bangladesh last year and they recorded so many area in Dhaka and other major cities, where rubbish is dumped in tourist areas, where there is wildlife that is suffering. Many people are happily living next to piles of rubbish, outside their homes etc. why don’t THEY themselves do something about it. Be proactive yourselves too, instead of waiting for the government to start. Bangladesh 🇧🇩 is a Muslim majority country, so they should be educated in Islam more and the importance about hygiene and cleanliness in Islam and how important it actually is. Keeping oneself clean and their homes neighbourhoods is key. Half the deceases in Bangladesh, start from unhygienic environment and basic lack of hygiene. Education is key. Educate the younger generation as well as the older generation, using all kinds of mediums.

A lot of people even think Bangladesh is taking too much loans from China to develop infrustructure. But all the infrustructure that are being done were nothing for the luxury.
The Padma bridge was done to connect countries legging behind South West areas to the capital, and also boost investment and economic activities in that region. The toll earning this year was huge, and it is paying off its construction loans.
The new airport terminal was done to handle cargo and quick shipment. Previously, many companies used to use Delhi airport to ship air shipments. Now the country can do it on its own.
The Nuclear power plant, the Payra deep sea port, new Bay terminal for CTG port...all the expressways are done with strategic move.
The country is also building waste to energy production plant, bcz it needs to do a better waste management.
But sadly, many people do not understand that its crucial for the development of the country. No country can develop first and then later think about infrustructure development. All needs to be thought about and pre planned.

That area can be built into the new Chittagong city. China has already made a proposal to make the area into cities like Shenzen. If bangladesh government is smart, they will take that proposal into account. It's crazy that a city like Chittagong that accounts for 90% of the export and majority of the tax revenue for the government, has a GDP of only 43 billion dollar. Even Karachi port city has 4 times the gdp of Chittagong.
Infrustructure completely changes a country's economic activities. Infrustructure is the way Bangladesh can boost its economy and create more jobs.

It's not about making good infrastructure... Yes we need lots of good infrastructure...
But the problem is that the humongous cost of making those infrastructure.. Which multiple time higher than the neighboring India...
And as taka lost its value by nearly 50 percent in just less 2 year the all the tax burden are now being put on public. Due high toll common public have to suffer a lot.. And every year government increase tax on public consumer goods... Even after that they always fail to achieve their targeted revenue by a large margin...
And all the Chinese investment is just promise and MOU nothing on the ground even after a decade...
Because the beaurocratic hurdles, corruption and top of that lack of skilled workforce made a unviable situation for multinational companies to set up business here...
On top of that the whole country is being run by cartels of politicians and businessmen.. All the businesses are owned by them... All the food items of any kind is very expensive comparing similar developing nations....
And due to population explosion still going on even vegetables also have to import which were exported in the past...
Even after all the socalled infra the public transport system one of the worst in the world only got a single metro line to boast about... No robust rail connectivity,
If Ctg GDP is 43 bn and Karachi is 4 times that means 170 bn the total GDP of Pak is 360bn are u saying that Karachi accounts half of the GDP of Pak which accounted less than maybe 6-8 percent of it's population?

Recent news reports from Bangladesh claimed a discrepancy of $23 billion in export earnings calculations. The Export Bureau has dismissed this as a computational error. In reality, the ruling Awami League party in Bangladesh is presenting such erroneous and inflated data in an attempt to showcase their development achievements. All economic data provided by the Bangladeshi government is inaccurate and exaggerated. Moreover, it's virtually impossible for any non-governmental organization to independently collect accurate data, as they are not allowed to operate freely. We Bangladeshis are well aware of our country's actual GDP. The notion of becoming a trillion-dollar economy is far-fetched; in fact, there's a risk of Bangladesh facing economic collapse similar to Sri Lanka in the near future. No country can achieve trillion-dollar economic status solely through remittances and ready-made garment exports. Additionally, corruption remains a pervasive issue in Bangladesh.

It is very possible to hit the $1trillion mark.
Bangladesh biggest disadvantage is the threat of flooding. This is made worse by rising sea levels.
Pakistan is the only South Asian country that has failed to make visible progress and that's primarily due to 2 different kings in the same palace.
As long as the military holds the real power, Pakistan will remain a basket case.

I doubt Bangladesh can become a developed country; it people don't change their mindset. Most of the people here are dishonest. Almost everywhere in govt. sector is filled with people who takes bribes. what I mean everywhere it literally everywhere. Even in schools the teachers come with unlawful acts to collect extra money from students. That's also true in the markets, the sellers don't set justified specific prices for goods and always try to fraud customers to take as much money as they can.
No sane person would want to live in a country like this. So, most of the talented individuals leave the country every year.
If the population of a country has honesty and have a mindset work together, that country is bound to succeed. You can look at Japan or Korea. Japan became 2nd economy in the world in just two years after being devastated in 2nd world war.
And Bangladesh is only dependent on textile, we don't have any sophisticated industrial sector. At one point it will stop growing like this for sure.
So, if Bangladeshis don't change that's never going to happen. Good talented people don't just want money they want a good environment they can live freely.
