Not sure when it became cool to hate on jerry seinfeld (a while ago now), but no one with at least half a brain can deny that his comedy is unique, timeless, relatable, and honestly hilarious.
He's been a little snobby in the past. Like regular person snobby but when a celebrity does it, people look down on it
Usually it just seems like it comes from miserable people. People who can’t relate to minute details of social relationships that jerry talks about because they dont have good friends/family.
PC culture tried to cancel him because the Seinfeld show had an all white show, he hasn't actually done anything wrong and is still a comedy legend
I really love his material. We laugh and its the simplest subject, no cursingg, no perverted jokes -- just chairs

I love the show Seinfeld but the comedian himself has seemed like an egomaniac and shitty person for a while - plus for a guy who seems to base his entire self worth on his being a stand up, he isn’t a very funny stand up.
So I have to assume Larry David was the genius that made the Seinfeld show as good as it was.
Incidentally, he's one of those boomer comics that's not popular anymore and blames it on millennials being "offended" as though Larry David's not, you know, universally beloved.

I have been watching Seinfeld on repeat these last few weeks and my word, Jerry's still got his style and charisma from the stand up bits present in the show nearly 30 years ago.

I wish Seinfeld show was still going
The chair, death-bed and cremation bits are totally solid. I read Jerry's "Is This Anything?" book that has material over 5 decades, and this wasn't included in his post-Seinfeld material. It should have been. His 00's-10's stuff in the book I found to be a little bitter/mean-spirited. Understandably though, when you're hungry and on the rise it's joyous (70's-80's-90's). When you're a jaded billionaire, a little less so.
The original airdate in the description can't be right. Wasn't Conan doing The Tonight Show in Dec '09?

thank god. they're mostly just cute. laughing to be polite, if at all. not with people?- lucky if he gets a smile. i'm glad he's part of our cultural history mostly for the show. but beyond that, he doesn't live up to his smugness. the great comedians make me crack up, involuntarily clap, sides tighten, bowl over. jerry is observationally fun. cute is probably the best word.

It's funny that in one of Seinfeld's episode on Netflix of " comedians in cars getting coffee" with Chris rock , both were talking about what Jay Leno did to Conan and they backed up with Leno.

Yup. NBC very clearly breached contract and Conan got a US$45 million out of court settlement. Seinfeld and Rock "siding with Leno" is, in that light, totally personal and nothing to do with their opinions on contract law. I can see why neither was invited to be on his new show.

They were talking about how working the standup circuit enables you to spot when something fishy is going on, like what happened with Conan and Leno. They were pointing out that Conan wasn't a standup and therefore may have been a little naive. It wasn't a comment on his talent.
