The quicker Worthy gets on the same page as Mahomes the better!!

As a chiefs fan.. just seeing him attack the ball with his hands is heartwarming. Last year got a little rough sometimes. lol
Just imagine replacing mvs last year with worthy.. and you’ll quickly see how important he can become.

You can see the impact that Brennon Marion made on Worthy's release and route running, but I think the biggest impact was from Marion's mantra. How you play without the ball in your hands determines how much you love your teammates. You see this in the way X goes full speed on the clear outs every time.

When it’s clear out routes and motions away he does great, now backside routes and blocking is not very good in tape, but this is hard to analyze because we don’t know if within their system they are emphasizing great effort in those types of plays or to basically take a play off and get ready for the next rep

Blocking is another area of need for Worthy. He isn’t allergic to blocking, but will just need more of an emphasis going forward as it didn’t look like he was asked to do a whole lot of blocking for Texas

I want to like Worthy and Adonai...but i don't see it. Worthy can't catch a contested ball....Adonai Mitchell is such a passive player, lacks the "dog" mentality. Does not play close to the speed that he runs, etc. Watched every throw they had this last year. Nabers, Harrison Jr, Big space....then Odunze.....then big space Franklin.....then Jermaine Burton

The thing with Worthy though, is that he rarely had to make a contested catch. +95% of his catches were him with at least 2 yards of separation. The dude just has an insane ability to create separation with his speed, route running, and change of direction. I don't see his lack of contested catches as a knock on him because of his ability to consistently stay open.

@@FrostTylerthat’s the thing right there. It’s about the stress he puts on defenses. You have to account for his speed or it’s going to be 6. I think if both were in different offenses with a better QB, you’d get more.

That’s kind of how I feel about Brian Thomas jr. I want to like him, but the problem I have is that I think there’s so many other WR’s that can do what he does which is go vertical. In Worthy’s case, he’s a little more unique because his speed is so elite, you can play him at the X on certain plays, and if your a corner and you miss that jam, you’re getting torched for a big play. He commands cushion. With some refining on his route running, skys the limit. Not saying BTJ doesn’t have a ceiling, he does, it’s just I think there’s other guys that do what he does this year.

Because AD doesn’t run full speed on every route he runs routes with tempo and rhythm. How many times you think they’re gonna ask Worthy to catch 50/50 balls in KC. He has a 41’ Vert and he has to do is get stronger and he’s instantly better at them. Not too many guys period are good at catching jump balls

How often is Worthy going to need to catch contested balls? He runs a full route tree and separates with ease at all levels. He'll be open. I'd rather have a guy who gets open than a guy who is always covered but is good at contested catches. Why? Because even with the best contested catch receivers, it's a low percentage play vs throwing to an open target. It's also riskier.
Now that he's gone to the Chiefs it makes it easy to really hammer this point home. Andy Reid, arguably the greatest offensive coach in NFL history, has NEVER valued contested catches. This predates Mahomes but remains true even now. And why would they value it? All it does is decrease your offensive efficiency and increase the risk of turnovers.
His speed and ball tracking (which is a super critical skill for a guy to actually produce downfield and not just run downfield) also puts constant stress on a defense which opens things up for everyone. Kelce's job is going to be so much easier this year. Even if Worthy doesn't get a ton of targets as a rookie, he's going to have a bigger impact than the raw stats tell you.

He will he a good gadget player for the chiefs offense, also open it up for the under routes, but he
Doesn't have the wiggle tyreek has, he's very much like John Ross or mecole hardmen

He will run better routes than Mecole. Will also probably even learn the playbook.
