    I LOVE my car but it has had so many issues thus far. But, I still love it just as much. I have done the CAI, ZZP tune, BNR throttle body spacer with AEM A/F ratio and boost gauges, MSD ignition, BNR atmospheric bypass valve, ZZP wastegate actuator, and down pipe and mid pipe from ZZP so far. My turbo is cracked (pretty sure anyway) so just ordered the intercooler kit and big turbo from ZZP. Will do another tune after that with ZZP to see if that solves some of my boost issues. Either way, the tune itself was totally worth it. It has so much more power just from that alone even with a cracked turbo. Oh ya, I ported the intake myself (don't by one, it is too easy to do yourself)and installed the PCV valve fix.

    • @DRGOAT
      @DRGOAT  3 года назад

      @@DRGOAT thanks man. I don’t have anything up on it but I can grab some pics and video for you later this week and post a link. The intake porting was super easy. All you need to do is remove it from the car and then cut out the left over casting tabs on the head side of the intake ports. The tabs literally eat up about 50% of the port openings so it’s a pretty big air flow improvement. It may throw some codes though after so I definitely recommend doing a tune with it (this was my experience anyway). The PCV fix kit is a pretty big deal as well as they have a 100% failure rate pretty early in the cars life.

    My car has the damper as well. I'm assuming you have a eco model. Mine's a 2014 with the m32 manual. The Eco is about 200 lb lighter than any other model. It's also got a special set of lightweight alloy rims that only weighs 17 lb. You will spend well over two grand to get rims that light. The transmission also has special gearing. All the gears except for first and second are a lot taller. Third gear will get you to well over 90 mph. I set a 50 mile average record of 67.8 miles per gallon on a flat stretch outside of Denver. Out here in the Pennsylvania hills I typically average about 40 give or take. If I'm easy on it, I can get up to 55 miles per gallon or so out here. Only thing I've changed on it were the spark plugs, msd coil pack and a k&n cold air intake.

    • @DRGOAT
      @DRGOAT  2 года назад +1

      Yes it was the Eco! Thank you for all that info!! I honestly didn’t know any of that about these cars! 😃

    • @adandredestefano
      @adandredestefano 2 года назад

      @@DRGOAT another interesting fact is that flapper valve in the front known as an active damper is there to increase fuel economy by increasing your air dynamics. It opens only when the radiator needs cooling. If I'm not mistaken it closes above 35 and only opens when the radiator needs cooling. I was looking at several cars when I picked up my eco for six grand with 90k on it in 2019. Personally, I love the car. The handling is lively. They're kind of zippy and give you real good economy if you keep your foot out of it. There's a little learning curve when trying to figure out what RPM to be in for different speeds when you live in the hills like I do. But hills equal corners. And I like corners. That's something this car does fairly well.

    • @DRGOAT
      @DRGOAT  2 года назад +1

      I’ve always wondered what that did! That makes sense though! We traded the car in last year for a 2010 Jeep Wrangler, had fun with the Wrangler for a while, but man do we miss this car some days! I honestly loved taking this car around corners! Something about the way it handled and the steering feel makes it a real joy!

      @@DRGOAT I'm about to do some fairly extensive repairs to mine. I'm replacing the wastegate actuator, intake manifold, valve cover and the most expensive repair will be the timing chain keeper, or at least I think that's what it's called. It's starting to make that ticking noise before it goes bad, breaks your timing chain and sends your valves through your pistons. Nothing is broken yet, but I like to fix it before it does. I can tell the PCV valve is going bad or is bad. I bought the cruise kits PCV valve bypass kit and I'm about to replace that before I put the new intake manifold on it. With the cost of the used car market, I'm going to hold on to it because the repairs are still cheaper than buying a new car. And yeah, so it's not just me, I feel as though that car handles really really well. I'm about to get some Max performance summer tires because I've got a set of studded winners for when it's nasty out. Might as well get the most out of it when it's warm.
