Dartmoor Prison Mutiny (1932)

Full Title reads: "Dartmoor Prison Mutiny - Britain shocked at news of convicts' desperate fight at our 'toughest' prison."
Dartmoor, Devon.
M/S exterior gateway entrance to Dartmoor Prison. M/S buildings of prison. L/S prison and fields in foreground. Pan across prison buildings. Smoke is rising from one of the buildings (the voice overs suggests that the inmates had set fire to it).
Great aerial shots of the prison buildings and grounds. Closer pass in the 'plane shows the convicts moving about in the prison yard.
Two prison warders walk in to the prison carrying small milk churns. Injured prison officer walks along path into prison. His head is bandaged under his hat. He walks past several reporters and still photographers. (The voice over suggests that there had been some violence in the putting down of the riot - the warders didn't need tear bombs just 'rough and tumble'.) Another injured warder walks into prison. M/S prison officers close Prison gates.
Mr Patterson, a prison commissioner, talking with other gentlemen. (Section of soundtrack missing).

Very dark shots - of policemen making cordon to stop traffic using a ladder. Two policemen stand at roadside outside hut. The two policemen stop a car coming down the road.
There appears to have been a shorter, silent version of this item in Gazette 1889. This is currently missing.
