Years ago I took 2 things of shine over seas to my friends we packed them in wine bottle and sealed the top like they do maker's mark. Worked like a charm didn't get questioned just got stuck in Iceland for 12 hours and couldn't leave the airport because I didn't want to come back through security.

I know that such high proof alcohol is probably deadly to any sort of bacteria, viruses and germs in general, so a "contamination risk" from one or more people drinking out of it seems minimal or non-existent. Still kind of gross when they pour it back in.

Everyone knows most of this show is staged guys, it’s reality television they have to make it interesting, they’re doing all of this legally, but the liquor making and techniques are all very real, it’s still very cool and interesting to watch

@@ryanlucas7280 not even close to the right answer. statute of limitations for something like this would be over 10+ years. The reason they aren't charged is that the show is just that a show. This show is not real it's all for entertainment. If I'm not mistaken all the shiners featured are real brewers though.

The people on the show are real moonshiners and most do it illegally. also on the topic of Virginia, they said that what they are doing is not illegal and they have asked discovery to put a disclaimer stating that it's not illegal but discovery refused. "Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control spokeswoman Kathleen Shaw responded to concern from residents about the illegal production of alcohol, and reassured everyone that the state has the situation under control by hinting the show is not as authentic as it seems.
"If illegal activity was actually taking place, the Virginia ABC Bureau of Law Enforcement would have taken action," she wrote in an email per Fox News".
