The song "How you remind me" was played all day every day on every radio station, some talk show host mentioned how much he hated them and convinced his guests to hat them too. To make matters worse the TV channel it was on aired that part over and over as a teaser which was viewed by millions. It's like the old saying "tell a lie often enough and it becomes truth" That is what happened to Nickleback.

Nickelback, Creed, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Daughtry and Matchbox 20. Sad to say that most people growing up in this new generation won't know how these bands were because of all the mainstream stuff on the radio nowadays. Gone is the music of old. Rest in piece. I'm 31 and grew up on most of these guys along with Credence Clearwater Revival, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Aerosmith, KISS, James Brown and a few others. In my opinion 90% of the songs on the radio don't have shit on any of the bands or music I listed.
EDIT: 1/12/2021- After all this time I am forced to speak up after my initial top comment. I am happy to see SO MUCH love for the older music. Let's not let this time be forgotten. Keep it alive in your memories and show it to other people. By keeping the memory alive you keep the soul of the music alive. As an 80's kid, there was nothing more important than a good story and relatability. Thank you all so much for all the likes and thank you all for the dislikes. I remember when I was a little kid Nickelback was my absolute favorite band out of all the music I listened to. I have all the CDs, then I learned when I was older how bad things were and I was so crushed.... But now coming back and hearing these brings back memories of when things were simpler and less scary

If that was me, everytime hearing nickelback. I would think of school. 15 years later, nickelback on the radio. And I start freaking out over the test I have tomorrow, and I'm not ready. Fun fact without the fun. If you're doing something, you really hate one day (anything in general). If there's any music, cut it off. If not, that song will remind you of that shit day for the rest of your life. 10 years later, that song comes on, and you're instantly depressed and you don't know why? Talking from experience.
