Originally, he was supposed to drop the WWE title to Edge at SNME, which would have been the first time the WWE title changed hands on SNME then lose the ECW title at Summerslam 06 that year I believe.
This and the Hammerstien show in August was the only times the crowd were actually there for ECW, because the ECW show was being taped before SmackDown, because WWE were stupid. So pretty much all of the time the crowd were there for SmackDown, not ECW, Except this July 4th 2006 episode of WWECW, was in Philadelphia, the birth place of the original ECW. So a lot of original ECW fans went to this show, and they were pissed off, so they threw shit in the ring after Big Show won the title.
I realise that they had to take the title off RVD for a real-life suspension due to drug charges. I was just protecting Kayfabe guys.
Keep kayfabe alive! Lol great episode.
@@strangemonkey90 Thank-you mate!

So Van Dams WWE title run was not going to be too long anyway.
I actually like test in his return… I feel like the crowd and the fans did him dirty
I remember this because it was 4th of July. I had ECW on the TV but was definitely more interested in watching the fireworks outside lol.
Hey look! It's Tony DeVito again!
Love this series
Man these videos are hilarious
Thanks mate!
RVD got busted for maharaja possession with Sabu that week hence why he lost both titles in back to back nights.
That's the story but vince was never big on rvd.
I remember watching this live and thinking “oh yeah, ECW is fucked” lol
Yep this was basically the start of the downfall
They did a Twilight Zone marathon that day, but took a 1 hour break to show the live ECW.

It’s funny how Vince rebooted ECW and turned most of the originals into jobbers
