    Great model! The detail work including the small decals truly enhances the vehicle.

    Loved the eagle since space 1999 came out. The series was nearly going to be a continuation of UFO.
    Keep up the great work Lou. Would love to see you tackle the 44” some time.

    The Eagle turned out great Lou!! The final details really really makes it look as good as the filming miniature. I was thinking there may be some light involved before it was over. I hope you're satisfied with the Rustoleum clear matte. I too purchased a can from Wal Mart and it wasn't very flat. In fact I thought something was wrong with it. Even after an overnight dry it was rather glossy looking to me. Lowes carries Krylon spray. Another great build Lou, enjoyed it!!

    What a great finish to the Eagle. I can understand how you get a kick out of the way the decal carrier film just vanishes.
    I haven't built a model kit in years but I get one step closer to investing with each of your videos.
    Thanks a lot for sharing Lou 🤩

    This is one of my most favorite builds you have done lately Lou . Love the Eagle especially with this pod and the booster pack , the colors , shading and detail is amazing . Its hard to figure the issue there was between the Eagle design and the original design of the Millennium Falcon which lead to its change ., for the better obviously , but gave birth to the Blockade runner . The builders at ILM 40 years ago never heard of Space 1999 according to an interview with said designer . It was 1999 plus one and change Eagle to Falcon .

    Pretty cool finale-- it is really nice how that final coat of clear flat turns the decals into paint. Indeed, still enthralling. I'm surprised you have not investigated the Valejo clears; they're supposed to be pretty good.
    Magnet switch-- I wonder if a piece of flat flexible magnet would have enough juice to activate one of those reed switches. The piece of sheet magnet could be cut into a panel shape. Then, you could put another magnet on the inside to hold that panel somewhere else when it's "off."
    Next year in Louisville!

    • @aztekdummy
      @aztekdummy  4 года назад

      I have tried the Vallejo clears. the flat is too cloudy. it's not a "clear" as the big spray cans. It's more akin to the "Dust" color.

I hope not🤞🏾great job on that Eagle i will be starting mine soon👍🏾

    Looks beautiful. Not to nitpick but the small black boxes on the cockpit top nose ridge are supposed to be space to space missile openings and are in line instead of staggered how you placed them.

    It might not be too late but here is an idea and if you don't want to do it now you can do it in the future with another Eagle... Take a soda can and cut out a square 1 inch piece from the can and sand off the painted ink...clean the piece of Aluminum with alcohol and then measure how much off that square you'll need to bend around the spot where the Booster clips sits adding a millimeter or two...form the piece of Aluminum into a tube...where the ends meet of the cut out piece of Aluminum pry open to fit onto the Eagles spine frame...super glue it in place where the clips will sit and this will enable you to take off the Booster pack and put it back on without scrathing your paint. Let me know if you tried this and if it worked for ya.

    Just wanted to say that I got back into modeling after a 30 year hiatus when Round 2 brought out the 22" Eagle and I discovered your channel back then. I built that kit as is straight from the box to see if I still had what it took to build a kit. My eyes aren't what they were and my hands shake, but I can get the job done. I've got this new Eagle 2 kit and I'm going to try and give it my best shot. By the way, where do you keep all the models you build? Have you got your own building for them? Just wondering. You must have quite a collection.
