      I got my belly button pierced yesterday on my birthday. and the piercer told me that I'd be okay to change it out within a month. the piercing didn't hurt. it's the next day and it's not sore. no blood. no pain. nothing. Do you think he gave me the wrong information about changing it out within in a month? he said healing will take about 6 months to a year but that it'll be okay...

      Kelsea Richards my piercer said wait 3 months. I got it don't two days ago and it takes 6-12 months to fully heal. And swimming. You can't swim for really three months...

    I think 16 is a perfect age for a belly button piercing. Just explain to your mom that it is hidden and it's a pretty piercing and not a sexual one. A lot of parents think that belly button piercings are suggestive and sexual. :)
    It might help if you say you'll pay for it and take care of it just to show some responsibility, that's what I would.

  • @BreeAnn823
    @BreeAnn823  11 лет назад +5

    You should wait at least 6 months to change it. They don't heal that quick. If you really want to change it that bad. Go to your piercer and see what he thinks about it and he'll be able to tell you if it's healed enough to be changed. I was told to wait 6 months to a year to change it. Belly buttons heal slowly. Thank you! :)

      Does what hurt the piercing or changing it? Yes, the piercing hurt. But changing it doesn't hurt one bit. If it's 100% healed and you change it it shouldn't hurt, it doesn't really feel like anything.

    Put some tea tree oil on a q-tip and dap it on the bump two to three times a week and do sea salt soaks at night, then it should go away within a week. :) It sounds like you have a keloid which is perfectly normal. :)
    When you get out of the shower, make sure you take another clean q-tip and make sure you get all the water out of your belly button so bacteria doesn't start growing. Hope that helped. :)

    Yes, infections can happen anytime. That's why it's important to make sure you hands, and new jewelry are super clean so you can avoid and infection. You might also want to make sure you are using the right kind of metal for the piercing, if you use a cheap metal that can cause irritation and infection.

    Thanks:) this video was really helpful to me. I'm 14 and I just got mine done a couple days ago, I understand it might take longer to heal because I'm so young :/ I was hoping to be able to change it within 12 weeks before I go on holidays but there's no way it will he healed by then. I'm kinda bummed because they pierced me with a really plain boring belly bar. It's just silver and it's really small. I personally don't think they look 'slutty' I think they're really pretty so can everyone please keep their opinions to themselves! If I had to rate the pain of it getting pierced on a scale of 1-10, I would honestly give it a 9 or 10. I've had my ears pierced 3 times because they closed up, and it wasn't half as painful as my belly piercing. But it's okay once it's over. It's only sore when I bend over or stretch. As for sleeping, it's not that sore if you lay on your belly. But that's just me. :D

    I have had mine for nearly 2 years and its still quite hard to change it. When I slide it through I see the top but theirs a thin layer of skin that won't let me push it all the way through sometimes. I mostly have this problem when the bar is more rounded.
    And also my piercer said 6 weeks before I could change it but I changed it after about 7-9 weeks and it still wasn't healed! It was leaking. So I really would suggest waiting 6 months like BreeAnn Barbie said to anyone that has been told 6 weeks.
    And btw Bree I love your belly and tattoos... and hair... and face :3 Very beautiful indeed :)

    That's hard because most parents think of belly button piercings and showing your stomach as something that's sensual. I honestly would just keep asking them, talking about it and keep pointing out that it can be hidden.

  • @BreeAnn823
    @BreeAnn823  11 лет назад +1

    I've never experienced this but I've heard of people who have so I would recommend using Provon Soap or any type of antibacterial soap that has a moisturizer in it to give it some moisture. As long as it's not pussing or red then it might just be dry.

    Might sound like a dumb question, but I tried changing my belly bar today and it just wouldn't unscrew! I tried both balls and I tried it both ways and nada! The piercer that I went to wasn't really the best (didn't tell me anything about cleaning or how long I wait until I took it out, just gave me a leaflet and sent me on my way) which is why I'm a little bit hesitant about returning to see if he can get it off. Anyway, when I try to take it out, there's not really any pain except for my fingers because I'm gripping so tightly to try and take it out. Any advice?

    Hello I have a couple of questions. Firstly, is sterling silver okay to use as a second piercing? Also I have discovered that the ball on my starter piercing loosens a lot through out the day and I am terrified of loosing it at some point. I got my navel pierced 5 weeks ago, but I am already showing signs of a fully healed piercing. There is no discoloration at all along with the fact that there is no puss excretion and no pain at all to any type of touch (and I mean every type lol. My niece ran into my stomach head first two days ago and I didn't feel any pain what so ever). So I was wondering if I should change it to avoid the one I have now falling out and the hole closing or do you think I should wait. I also tried the ball from the one that I would be replacing the piercing with, the the threads are different so the other ball didn't work and the shop that I got pierced at said that if I wanted to get a new ball for my piercing then I would have to buy a full replacement ring which would cost me $15. So what advise do you have. And thanks for the video as well. I found it very informative and plan on watching more of your videos for other piercings that I plan on getting. Oh, I do apologize for the length. I didn't mean for it to seem like I was telling my whole life story.

      +Lakeesha Fonseca you don't know what you're talking about. I got a belly button piercing and it healed completely in 2 months. I got it done my a very pro piercer and he said it was completely healed

      +Lakeesha Fonseca everyone's different tho, I've changed mine a couple of times after 3-4 months of it being done and it's fine no bleeding or anything. I'm not saying it's necessarily healed but some people heal faster than others

    piercing doesnt hurt for me, what hurts is when it gets infected and it swells and so hard to move,and yes it took 6 months completely to heal it..

    Hey bree,I got my belly button pierced today and I got in the shower and was gently letting the water fall on it.I noticed that the barbell bar was longer up the top.I was stupid and pushed it down into place after that i left it.I read that the piercer use's a longer barbell because of swelling i dont know but its long and doesn't sit right.I don't know if its because when i sit down my belly fat folds over(im very tall for my age but have slight belly fat)Its not soar only when i touch it which i only done when cleaning it.Please help..

    I wouldn't wear any tight clothing for the first couple of weeks, it's best to let the piercing breathe. Having tight clothing can irritate it and be really sore.

    You should be fine as long as it's fully 100% healed. Don't start out with a really heavy one, just a nice simple one. :)

    Hey Bree, my piercer told me 30-60 days and Friday is 30 days. My fiancee is buying my first jewelry change. There is zero pain even if it gets bumped or rubbed by jeans but there is a small amount of redness around the two balls. Do you think I am okay now?

    Why would you use hand sanitizer? Doesn’t that have alcohol & you should keep alcohol away from the piercing area? Alcohol= dehydration= infection

    @BreeAnn823  11 лет назад

    No that's normal. It's healing, as long as the pus isn't green/yellow and it's not big and red then it's fine. Don't touch it though, that can make problems worse, just leave it alone and let it heal. Clean it 3 times a day too.

    Hi,
    So I got my piercing about 1yr 3 months now and it's pretty safe to say that it's healed. I always moving the piercing up/down and twist a little so when it would be stuck while healing.
    I am finally ready to change it, I was thinking of buying a ring on amazon but there's different sizes which I thought were all standard sizes, would it be better to go back to tattoo shop to change it the first time and get a ring and ask questions about what size it is.
    HOW DO YOU KNOW THE SIZE OF YOUR NAVEL RING?.... AND WEARING THE CHANDELIER RING, IS IT A BIT NERVE WRECKING TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING CAUGHT ON SOMETHING.... THAT WOULD HURT....?!.....
    THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR ANY REPLY. AND THIS VIDEO WAS REALLY HELPFUL.

    • @BreeAnn823
      @BreeAnn823  10 лет назад

      SassyTriniKARS When it comes to belly button rings they size doesn't really matter, it'll fit regardless.Just make sure it's a 14 or 16g.
      If you feel more comfortable going to your piercer then you can. It's always good to have questions if you don't know! :)
      Yeah, I've owned one and I mean, it's not too bad as far as getting caught on things, you just have to be more careful when you sleep or whatever, but it's not too bad. I like to where mine if I'm going to the beach or stuff like that.
      You're welcome! Thank you!
