To those who may wonder why there's a temple honoring the military: one of the biggest virtues for the Orthodox person is to sacrifice their life for other people. Therefore the Russian Orthodox Church considers the defence of the homeland from the enemy as a spiritual feat. The military men and women sacrifice themselves in order to protect others.

The entire complex was built in 700 days (1 year and 8 months). The temple is built of Metal and Glass! The steps and metal inserts are made from melted tracks of fascist tanks. The outer walls are lined with copper, processed using electroplating technology (usually used in jewelry). By the way, the mosaic coverage area = 2644 m2.
And yet, the metal structures (high-alloy steel) for the domes and the domes themselves are designed for operation.... up to 1500 years))))

Mosaics in the temples are an ancient Christian tradition. After the division of the Roman Empire, mosaics became more typical for the churches of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium).

The thing is most Soviet soldiers weren't believers at all (and by "most" I mean not a slightly more than a half, I mean that amount of religious people whas all but negligible), and that was one of the reasons they've prevailed - they knew no help or mercy will descend upon them miraculously, it was up to them to save their motherland, they were the only thing that could stop the dark forces that bring death and suffering from reaching the innocent people and their loved ones, and that was a sobering thought that filled them with determination.

How strange the twists of history are. Your Catholic Church, for religious reasons, burned hundreds of Europeans at the stake, in the name of the Catholic faith, marched with fire and sword across new discovered continents. And the Catholic faith is now in severe decline. And Orthodoxy stands tall and people all over the world admire the Orthodox faith and Orthodox Russia. God is truly with Russia!

It was established by 6 monks who arrived here in to the Arizona desert in 1996. Today it houses monks from all over the world and people can visit when they’re not on praying time. Great thing is it’s till free and the monastery look nice. Insides decorated with murals and art.

The simplest thing is carsharing. In addition to the temple and the museum, there are many other wonderful places in the park, and it is very convenient to travel by car, there are huge distances. There is a unique tank museum in the park with unique exhibits, such as the super-heavy Mouse tank. If carsharing is not available for you, use taxi, it very cheap in Moscow.

Correction in terminology. This is a huge and beautiful temple or church, but it is incorrect to call it a cathedral, because only those temples in which the bishop's cathedra (chair) is located and which are the centers of territorial dioceses are called cathedrals. And in the official name it is the Main Temple and not the Cathedral.
