    So i thought Tesla was a car company, until i recently heard Elon Musk say in a solar announcement video "Tesla is not a car company, Tesla's main focus has always been to accelerate the advent of sustainable energy"

      All of Musk's companies are Investment magnets, regardless of Products. They exist to gather funding for more factories and product "development", that then is used as an argument for even more funding.
      Tesla does make a profit on a pure production level, as in they sell by now more than they put into producing the product, but it has not come anywhere close to paying off the many rounds of investor money collected to make this possible. And they're no longer a small company just starting up.
      NOTHING Musk promised outside of cars and Rockets has ever come to pass. Hyperloop? Bust, Low Tech Loops ala Vegas, Failure. Solar Houses? Loading infrastructure? "Flamethrowers" (more like weed torches, they even had to print "not a flamethrower" on the toy, as it's illegal to make flamethrowers just so without license to make weapons)... even the "sideproducts" of Tesla like Semi and Cyper"truck" are expensive crap.

    What I find refreshing is that Elon Musk seems to genuinely care about the planet. Ok, he's a billionaire. And he wants to stay rich. Can't blame him there; who wants to be poor? But he could retire tomorrow (god forbid), never work another day in his life and still live like a king. He has opened Tesla's patents so anyone can use them in good faith for research or a commercial product. It seems to me that he wants us off our oil dependency for transportation. Sure it would be great if his company did it, but the main goal is to end the oil dependence for transportation, no matter who does it. And I think that that's just amazing.
    I don't know if I'll be able to afford a Model 3 when they come out, but I am going to do my damnedest to get one.

      @kellyrayburn4093 7 лет назад +9

      Romario Smith Tesla cars aren't manual or auto. 2 gears dorward and reverse. Nothing could be more convenient. And manual transmissions blow. You want to lay rubber, turn off traction control. You get better torque and acceleration with electric. No shifting gears. 0 to maximum in 1 go.

    • @Gromitz101
      @Gromitz101 7 лет назад +8

      I think he is more referring to driving automatic transmissions are boring as hell. Has nothing to do with burning rubber. I've driven manual for 10+ years and every time I drive a family members auto I completely lose interest in driving. It isn't mentally stimulating, and makes driving-time consuming, instead of a joyful thing.

    Your style of presentation is both Beautiful and Inspiring!
    It makes me feels like I did when I was a child in the 60's again.
    That the whole world's future was just ahead of us, and all we had to do was to dream big, and believe in ourselves to make anything possible. That vision of the world was taken away from us by the start of the 80's and was nearly all but extinguished by 1990.(1st Gulf War) That's when global cynicism started to take over. And the beginning of the end of Nasa's funding. Many of humanity's big dreams were being killed off and replaced by a Darker and foreboding world view..
    Since about 2013, the feeling that things were going to be different from now on started to slowly return, and small pockets of optimism began showing up in the Online world. Protests against the 1%, a change in political gravity and the sway of the internet started to be felt for real for the first time. And it became obvious who the previous players controlling the message had been.
    The fact that there was now a distinguishable divide taking place between the online world and the Lame Stream Media was too obvious to ignore and has flourished since. And the advent of new players stemming from RUclips and other innovators helping more and more individuals find their voice and turn on their camera's and microphones to become the New "Content Creators" that have kicked off a new generation of those who inspire and feed our imaginations again. But this time, it's not the proprietary domain of Corporations leading us by the nose, But other inspired individual human beings who are stepping up to the plate and sharing the REAL information to keep the public informed and viewing things in ways that are not based on marketing Strategy or experiments in Social Deconstruction.
    So to you at ColdFusion I would like to say... Thank you!
    For giving my children's generation a sample of what that world once was and could be again!
    A place of Inspiration, Innovation, Hope and Dreams.... All the while attaining the real information that helps us understand how things came to be and how we can see through the smoke and mirrors to a better reality for the future!
    Cheers!

      Don't worry... Money Talks! There are a lot of people waiting on the lower cost Tesla's that are now on the way so that more people can afford them. More and more people are opening their eyes and are fed up with the status quo.
      With the advent of Tesla's Gigafactory now coming online, the production limits can be more easily bridged and drive costs down. From his Tesla wall to his car productions, they will work in concert to get humanity past the Fuel Hump and move humanity to the self power production(solar) and use of power that will take the last teeth out of the Corporate paper lions heads... Every homeowner needs to buys solar panels and storage systems and sell the excess power back to the grid. Start small and modular as you can afford it. If you do the math, calculate your annual hydro and Fuel costs and then compare that to the cost of a 5 or 10 kw solar panel system for your home, and you will see that as the efficiency of Solar panels improve you can get rid of those costs and bank some funds from the selling of power back to the grid... Everyone is still fighting for $50 a barrel oil... That will be the end of oil in itself.

      All Great Things Come to Those with the Patience and Will to Wait to Make Dreams Come True to Make It So!
      And other things to to take into consideration...
      Solar is now as cheap per KW as Coal! and will only improve!
      Lithium power cell technology will also double its capacity and shrink to half their current size within 7 years thus killing off the last boogey man the oil industry has used for 40 years... "Oh But the Limited Range"!
      Previous to that it was statements like "Oh the loss of power"! & "Oh The long Charging times!"
      Both of those RED HERRINGS are now completely disproved by soundly out accelerating Ferrari's and Dodge Hellcats in the quarter mile. I've even seen a Tesla S beat a Suzuki Hayabusa drag bike off the line!
      Oil is Done! We just have to be smarter than Big Oil and ignore all their BS propaganda and their screams in their last death throws. Renewable Electric Power is here to stay! Big Oil is doomed to produce the minimum required out of select clean operations with no emissions from production... Until that is, a Synthetic that out performs Oil to replace Oil completely.

    • @corroding4671
      @corroding4671 7 лет назад +12

      The change is already happening and will happen quicker than many people think, by 2025 or sooner or new cars will be electric and that´s the end of the story.
      About solar panels, our magnificent goverment in Spain has taxed the sun, so right now you have to pay for putting panels in your roof. so change will happen but politicians can complicate things. Cheers

    Such a challenging thing to do for a Technology company in this competitive world, and still Musk does it! This really shows his motive of supporting society and making this world a better place, unlike other companies which focus on _bottom line profits_.

    • @quelorepario
      @quelorepario 4 года назад

      @@zoltancsikos5604 you are shortsighted and ignorant. The moneymaking is in the support of the systems, if everyone adopts the free technology, they will all depend on Tesla for support as they will be the foremost expert on the technology.
      Besides that even if the other companies are self-sufficient, what matters is how you market the product. Consumers don't give a crap about the underlying technology, all they care is about their experience.
      Musk is probably relying that in the long term, this will squeeze the oil companies towards obsolescence and that his brand has enough public credibility to make sexier products than the competition, even if they have the exact same electric motor in theirs as well.

      @@adarshvenkateswaran795 When a leftist opens their mouth to reveal their beliefs...you know it.
      and yes...EMISSIONS on electric cars are down...but how is that electricity made? It requires MORE fossil fuels burnt to produce the electricity to run an electric car than it does to run a traditional car the same amount. This means that MORE total green house, blah blah, whatever the fuck you green whackos call them are added to the environment in total because of electric cars. This is basic science that used to be taught in grade school...energy is ALWAYS lost when being transferred...more transfers (gas-car vs gas-electricity-car) means less energy for the same cost.
      Don't even get me started on the batteries that are non-recyclable, toxic and will still be here in a thousand years.
      The biggest problem with enviro-whackos (other than their aversion to ACTUAL science) is the laziness with which they approach EVERYTHING...although to be fair this applies to people on the left across the board. "electricity isn't gas" is all it takes to start a massive movement that flips an entire sector of the economy...while doing absolutely nothing to solve the "problem".
      And before you start whining about solar and/or wind power...do some homework please. We're decades (at least) away from those technologies being able to create even a fraction of what is needed..and they each come with problems at least as big as any perceived environmental impact of fossil fuels.

      @adarshvenkateswaran795 3 года назад

    • @adarshvenkateswaran795
      @adarshvenkateswaran795 3 года назад
