One thing I liked about MK9 was, it was a rare opportunity to play as human Cyrax & Sektor before they went cyber.
Plus the little changes in their move set animations like the smoke bombs cyrax uses to teleport. The little details had me in love with the game as a youngin
@phaggut7875 Funny thing is, only Cyrax had differences in his animations for his special moves & fatalities depending on weather he was human or cyborg. Whereas with Sektor, his animations were the same regardless of whichever one he was. Considering Sektor was the only willing participant in the cyber initiative(which honestly made me think the whole thing was HIS idea and not his father's), it kinda shows how badly Sektor WANTED to become a machine...

In Mortal Kombat (2011) were Sektor and Cyrax in human form. But with reverse colors to those seen in the animated series Defenders of the Realm.

I always go for (2011) as my all time favorite. I was Cyrax & My brother was Sektor! but Cyrax is who always choose in Armageddon since I love the spinning lightsaber! Especially in Motor Kombat! But I do wish both of them were playable in MK 11 since they Great Designs & in MK 9 I felt like Cyrax never stop smiling like Optimus Prime! ✅☑️✅☑️✅☑️

Sektor vs Cyrax. Red vs Yellow. Dusk vs Dawn. Ketchup vs Mustard. Fire vs super mild fire. Brick vs gold. Blood vs Piss. Half Orange vs Half Orange.
MK Gold: Sektor Kills Cyrax, Sonya and Jax in his ending. It wasn't a fight, it was an execution, so no count.
Armaggeddon: In Cyrax's ending, Cyrax and Sub-Zero defeat Smoke and Sektor.
MK9: In Cyrax's chapter, Human Cyrax gets into an argument with Human Sektor and beats him in a fight.
In Cyrax's ending, him, Raiden and 100 Shaolin fight and defeat Sektor and his Cyber Lin Quei army. It's hard to clarify if Cyrax beat Sektor in a fight during all this, so it doesn't count.
In Challenges 49 and 52 Sektor defeats Cyrax.
In Challenge 53, Sektor defeats a random opponent from the entire roster which includes Cyrax.
In Challenges 165 and 166 Cyrax defeats Sektor.
In Challenge 248 Shang Tsung and Cyrax defeat Raiden and Sektor.
In Bonus Challenge 22, titled "Ketchup and Mustard", Sektor and Cyrax defeat Cyrax and Sektor. They both win.
Legacy: In his introduction, Cyrax has injuries on his face, which imply he was brought in by force, but it's unclear if it was from Sektor or not.
MKX Comic: During the Aftermath portion of the comic, Cyrax gets freed from his mind control and has a short scuffle with Sektor. Sektor seems to win until Sub-Zero interferes and takes him on.
MK11: Cyrax uses his cyber-net to block a bunch of missiles from Sektor. That's it.
Total score: 7 - 1 - 5, for Cyrax.
Well, let us review all the reviewable confrontations.
MK Gold: This ine is both out-of-context funny and colfly badass and shocking. Basically, Sektor walks inside Cyrax's ending and murders everyone. It's both pretty random and pretty fitting for the cold and calculating Sektor. It also is a logical conclusion of Sektor's role in the story, since his primary mission in the game was to check on Cyrax and his progress. The shots of the parts of the dead characters at the end, minus the dated graphics, were handled and shot pretty well and are given enough moments of cold silence to sink in. Additionally, the fact that it's a non-canon ending allows it to not feel like a cop-out ending. Also, Sektor shot 6 missiles with 7 sound effects. That's a certified Sektor moment.
B+
Armageddon: Cyrax's ending has him and Sub-Zero defeating Sektor and Smoke and planning to free them. This is a pretty much perfect ending to Cyrax's story. He not only manages to stand up and overpower the Cyber-Lin Quei who enslaved him, but he also goes out of his way to save them just like he was saved. He also finally manages to be reunited with his dear friend Sub-Zero after their seperations in MK3 and Deadly Alliance and the image of them joining forces against a common threat and having an epic 2-v-2 fight with the cyborgs is awesome, as well as the fact that they don't kill them, but spare them, and instead turn them into forces for good, while also allowing Sub-Zero to actually save his dear friend. It's a perfect ending to Cyrax's arc and Sub-Zero's story with the Cyber Initiative, as well as very fitting to the main themes of Sub-Zero's story, those being compassion and improvement.

MK9: Cyrax and Sektor get into a fight at the end if Cyrax's chapter, with Cyrax winning and defecting from the Lin Quei. Gameplay-wise, it's just kind of average, Sektor's teleport spam not-withstanding. The main issue is that this fight amounts to nothing for the rest of the story. Cyrax ends up bring captured anyway, so what's the point of defeating Sektor? Let's not even mention how all this is happening because Shang Tsung is obsessed with making Cyrax murder people and gets incredibly pissy, despite Cyrax being on his team and doing his job.

Cyrax's ending has him receiving assistance from Raiden and 100 monks. The idea of a great battle between the monks and the Cyber-Lin Quei is cool, but the image of those hyper-deadly ninja-like cyborgs losing to a bunch of mere human monks is kinda funny to me and the idea that Cyrax needs to be saved by people he barely interracted with and that it is very unclear if him and Sektor even fought during all this takes away some of the satisfaction of that ending. Still, the idea of all this following Sektor's ending and Cyrax finally getting surrounded by people he trusts and in a way still syanding up against Sektor's immense and well-presented might make this still a pretty solid confrontation.

Challenge 49 "Target Practice" is honestly kinda boring abd repetitive and the time limit ends up bring more annoying that entertainingly tense. You just spam the same move over and over and over again with some basic strategies.

Challenge 52 "Psychosis!" has a definitely unique look and feel, but once you get over it, it's basically a normal fight.

Challenge 54 "Test your luck" is just a normal fight with 2 fighters with just OK movesets, or better an OK moveset and a moveset with cheap OP stuff. Thankfully, the cheap moveset is on your side this time. It's an OK break amongst the crazy and weird challenges.

Challenge 165 "The Drain Game" is how you incorporate general game mechanics and individual game mechanics while also providing some decent additional opportunities and need for strategy for the player. Plus, the need to constantly restrain your opponent and be careful with the usage of the supers makes the challenge fun to watch. Sektor is definitely annoying to fight against, but thankfully, Cyrax's net is a good counter to that.

Challenge 166 "System Crash" takes us to quality getting crashed, because now we have to deal with an annoying crash mechanic which, although makes usage of canonical stuff for Cyrax, makes the natch much more annoying than it would normally be. This just wasn't a good idea for a challenge, especially against a cheap opponent. Not only that, but it also dimply encourages to end stuff stupidly quickly, which not only is pretty unfair and hard considering the randomness of the mechanic and how broken MK9 generally is, but it also just sucks the fun out of playing the game cause now you just want to finish the challenge.

Challenge 248 "Robot buddies" has a cute name and utilises the assist mechanic, plus pits two iconic rivalries together. Just fine. I have to wonder tho why is Cyrax with Shang and Sektor with Raiden.

Bonus Challenge 22 "Ketchup and Mustard" is fucking racist and promotes hitting people of different colours.
On a serious note, this is a pretty fun challenge that makes a creative usage of the Team Tag mechanic and it utilises the existing rivalry both on its name by referencing its fan-made name and on its main mechanic, a.k.a. the playable cyborgs only being able to hurt their respective rivals. It requires a bit of strategy and reflexes and Cyrax's net is a good cheat to ensure first hits. The only doenside is that the strategies that can be used can be get a bit repetitive and the challenge becomes a bit predictable on how to respond, but the usage of Team Tag does help a bit to cover that up.

MKX Comic: Cyrax gets released by Sub-Zero, proceeds to fight Sektor...and his special ability just gets dodged, he instantly loses and he needs to be saved by Sub-Zero, because seeing a cool 2-v-1 that made Sektor look legitimately threatening and showing Sub-Zero and Cyrax fighting together as a team or a cool mano-y-mano cyborg brawl are apparently pretty lame alternatives according to NRS. I would give the scene some points for Cyrax standing up to Sektor, but it gets undone a bit after the fight by Cyrax fucking killing himself in order for Sub-Zero to be the one to restart the Lin Quei, despite Cyrax also rebelling against the old ways on that very scene. WTF WAS ALL THAT?!? And off course that scene gets redone in MK11 making that scene fucking pointless.

MK11: As I said before, this scene is a repeat of the events of the comic, but slightly better. Just like in the comic, Cyrax standing up to Sektor is the first thing he does after being released, but this time it actually matters, both in terms of dialog, since Sub-Zero tells him that he will make it no matter what, and in terms of the confrontation itself, where Cyrax releases his special abililty and successfully counters Sektor's missiles, saving Hanzo and Kuai, which by the way is a kinda cool shot in and of itself, and he even takes a battle stance against Sektor. Ultimately, Cyrax dies in a death that is better thenatically but worse logistically and presentation-wise (or maybe he isn't dead according to an intro) than his comic one, so I guess he dodn't really matter in the story that much and his gobfrontation with Sektor was still pathetically short, but at least Cyrax kept some of his dignity before debatably dying.
(Couldn't Cyrax at least have a QTE or be an assist against Sektor?)

Sektor and Cyrax are both great fighters, but for MKA, Team Ketchup without a doubt. Sektor was the first character I picked and with him I learnt to play the game! He had such a savage fighting style, although his weapon kinda sucks (in that regard Cyrax is way better)
Mortal Kombat Armageddon also has the BEST design for both Sektor and Cyrax!

I play mortal kombat a lot and I use these two. I also know some of the story between Cyrax and sektor. But if you want me to be completely honest it’s hard to tell who’s better. They both have a unique fighting style and it’s really sick if you know how how to use them both. Damage wise sektor is better. Fighting wise it’s hard to tell. Cyrax can beat the shiiiii outta you by throwing bombs and catching you with nets before your Body even has a chance to hit the ground. It’s just a loop but it’s really toxic if you think about it. And Sektor gone light yo ass on fire shoot you with homing missles teleport uppercut and beat the shit out of you as well. It’s also toxic. It’s really hard to tell who’s really better. They really both good in their own unique way
