Dr Croft’s is from New Zealand, which has one of the highest rates of obesity in the English speaking countries in the world. The stats I have seen show that the increase in obesity in New Zealand is continually increasing at approx 1% per year. New Zealanders are getting sick and dying from obesity related illnesses. New Zealanders have shown throughout their short history that they can be very innovative and adaptive and they need to lead the world again by legislating against sugar consumption and marketing.
@@backfru insulin is the hormone needed to push energy into cells including storing energy as fat in fat cells. Sugar and carbohydrates raise insulin 2x as much as protein and fat barely produces an insulin effect. Insulin is the most important hormone for producing obesity followed by several mediating hormones (like cortisol). Carbohydrates/sugars as well as frequent eating both stimulate the release of insulin and increase energy storage as fat.
What I was able to take in seemed impressively researched, but her accent was so thick that I was barely able to understand her. I'll try again - What she is saying is important.
Feels great to live in a time when all this info gets uploaded for free.
Great talks.
Been on the KETO diet for 2 weeks now. Stopped insulin in week 1. Body started to self regulate. Levels are stable.
well done
Impressive!
Still on keto?
I'm assuming the slide at 5:00 should read that glucagon lowers insulin secretion, not raises it.
So much great info! Thank you for teaching! I'll be passing some of this a long for sure!
I'd like to know specifically why IR happens when glucagon suppression is delayed.
